I would like to add that it is a very clearly labelled thread in a clearly labelled section, and numerous posters have attempted to show people how to hide this section that they have chosen to have in Active. If anyone wants more help they can either ask here or on Site Stuff.

I love Christmas too (no I don't wish the year away or not enjoy all the other celebrations prior that these haters seem to assume!)
I have already started my Christmas prep! We have so far booked our Christmas light trail (it sells out fast)
We have booked our Christmas day at the pub and paid the deposit! (again books out by summer!)
I have already started buying presents (specific things wanted that went for a good price)
Just waiting to book Lapland UK for when tickets get released next week - we book to go for xmas eve.
I've even starting thinking about Christmas crafts I want to try this year for gifts! ha ha

What sort of things are you thinking about? I’m interested in doing something (no idea what yet) but I usually start thinking about it way too late in the year, so now is an ideal time for me.

@NoCommentingFromNowOn Last year I made mini christmas cakes using mini baked bean tins. These went down very well, I did this as every year everyone was too full to eat christmas cake so thought I would make it to go! I am thinking of making homemade homemade potpourri with my fave winter oil from white company! Also thinking of making a little choclate gift wreath I saw on Pinterest!

@Rose785 what did you do to the baked bean tins? Remove both ends then just line with paper? That sounds like the perfect size! Then I guess just play around with cooking times a bit?

It’s snuck out onto ‘active’ so it’s fine as long as we don’t tell the bossy girls in the upper 6th.

@NoCommentingFromNowOn It was quite intense as a family we had to suddenly eat a lot of baked beans so I had my tins ready! No left the bottoms on, took the labels off and a good clean. lined with paper and I do a long strip too so I can easily pull them out, cover the tops with baking paper they didn't need as long to bake had to keep a closer eye on them. Baked them in October and then I fed them with a pipet brandy. They were delicious! (mary berry recipe except I add a few more nuts for crunch)

v sorry you are struggling but what happens if you open a thread on something else positive ? Say about holidays or good news etc .
People are just chatting about a time of year they enjoy and for some of us it is the autumn , winter and Christmas
Others come on to express joy that the clocks are changing and the days getting longer which is all good. We dont jump on them because some struggle with the summer months and it is triggering. It is only the christmas topic that seems to draw such vitriol.
Again v sorry you are struggling with your mental health for whatever reason and hope things look up for you soon.

Tad nearer than Christmas though. And there were Easter eggs in Sainsbury’s on the 27th Dec so it must be Halloween now.

I had a moment this morning when Mum said she’d thrown out a load of perfectly good Christmas wrapping paper she’d found when preparing to decorate. Felt like sacrilege. Sadly it rained overnight so beyond rescue. Have now ordered half a dozen rolls to stock up my own (hoard) supplies!
