Last year someone posted about some Levi’s socks that cost about 80p? with free postage which I got as a stocking filler for DH.
I have just had an email from them saying I have £10 in points despite never having bought anything else from them. Just used it to buy a plain T-shirt that was in the sale for £12. So I got it for £2 and free postage as a member. It will be useful for gardening if nothing else.
Might be worth checking if you got the socks.

Does anyone have any ideas for end of term gifts for teachers / cubs leaders etc, please?

Teacher here- a really nice, thoughtful handwritten card is my preferred gift. I always keep the ones where effort is clear, either in the card (home-made), the intention or the words.
If a group is joining together to give something, a gift card for eg Amazon is always appreciated and will almost certainly be spent on future teaching.

Personally, whilst all gifts are gratefully received, I’d rather not have the ‘best teacher’ trinkets. I have received literally hundreds of these products over the years and whilst the sentiment is appreciated, I’d rather have a new glue stick,

@Hereslookinatyoukid I only looked at kids clothes and adult shoes sorry. I tried the website and it was too much- looked at few reduced squishmallows then gave up.

I’ve heard this from so many teachers. (Plus an “if you must, something consumable please”). We do a collection, which is totally voluntary and split between teachers and TAs, and usually raises a decent amount. The beauty of this is that families can give whatever works for them (£2 is totally fine, £20+ is not unheard of). I never give cash gifts normally but this is such a good exception!

Can I ask a question - how do you manage the ever increasing collection of Lego? I’m already finding it overwhelming and our eldest has only been into it 1.5 years 😱 I must admit we both love Lego too, so we would quite like to be a Lego house! But it’s not possible to keep each set together with busy kids who love to play. Do we just lean in to the unmatched pieces? Or is there a magic system? (Maybe one that could be a present!!)

We have never kept the sets separate! Build it, keep it on the shelf for a bit, break it up and chuck it in with the rest in a big plastic box with a lid. It makes for interesting free builds when random sets are mixed up.

Thanks… that helps a lot actually

We had a large wheeled trolley with draws and then special types of bricks were stored in smaller tubs within the draws and the instructions were kept in plastic punch pockets in a ring binder.

Not really a bargain question but I am going to do a perfume advent calendar this year for DW or maybe some skincare bits as well just wondering if anyone had come across some good minis anywhere

IlovePond · 06/07/2026 19:17

@MamaK19 - people often sell perfume sample sizes on eBay, as well as small sizes of perfume they got in advent calendars that they didn’t like. (That’s what I did with most of the Liberty a/c perfumes last year as I didn’t like them.)

This company sell new samples:

https://www.perfumista.co.uk/?v=7885444af42e

You could also look out for perfume edits from places like Cult Beauty - they did a fragrance stocking last year and had a great perfume GWP just before Xmas.

For skincare: Again CB often do good edits with miniature products.

Boots also has some excellent edits in atm, which are full of travel-sized products to try. The spring skin care edit is currently reduced to £24 if you use the Boots code on the website.

M&S have their summer beauty bag available for £40, which also has some products small enough for an advent calendar.

Brilliant, thank you. Just got a baseball cap reduced to £13 so £3 delivered!

Sainsbury's are doing their own brand 200g chocolate bars at half price, so £1.15 instead of £2.30 each. They had milk, dark, white, whole nut and fruit and nut with varying use by dates. I picked some up dated May 2027 for stocking fillers.

Amazing thanks so much @IlovePond 💜💜💜

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 06/07/2026 20:24

@Fairyliz thanks so much for this. I had it too - went through the app for additional 10% off so a black v neck tee for me was down to £12 but paid 80p for it and delivered too!! Over the moon. Never had a levis item for me EVER.

Yalz · 07/07/2026 03:10

Boots £10 Tuesday has
"Discover premium minis from Estee Lauder, Clinique, M A C & more for only £10"
which might be useful for stocking fillers.

I have bought several full size Mac Macximal Silky Matte lipsticks which appear to be £10, but when you add them to your basket the price is their normal £25.
I've bought them anyway and sent screenshots to their customer services.

If you do decide to risk it. this page on the Mac website is good for a virtual try-on of the shades. Currently (3am) most of them are in stock in Boots.

LadyPene · 07/07/2026 07:42

I thought the Fisher price toys on the Boots £10 Tuesday looked good too. (Love the wooden herb set). I don't have anyone little enough to buy them for anymore though.

CrimbleTown · 07/07/2026 11:31

I've been keeping an eye on this flower market today for my 4 year old for a while and it's currently on sale for £20 (cheapest I've seen it). Hopefully posting correctly

Picked up another stocking filler today. Disney Rupenzel Nivea lipbalm reduced to £1.50 in Sainsbury's. Sadly only this one is marked down, the other princesses were still £3.30. DD5 saw these in there recently and wanted one so she'll be chuffed.

Sold out for me for home delivery. [[https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/nivea-wild-cranberry-lip-balm-limited-disney-edition&ved=2ahUKEwjhvKi-y8CVAxX2WkEAHb1VMcUQFnoECCgQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1h9Stxh1dNao5FdJjQP_Y6
