Seem to have been constantly deep cleaning all week and sorting presents. However, getting there.

Currently waiting for final Xmas presents to be delivered, so I can finish off wrapping presents.

I still have our old neighbour to visit, which I sort of include this in the prep as it's usually done inbetween jobs.

Clean laminate in extension.

Will clean bathroom and hoover today/tomorrow with a view to a quick go over next week.

Food shopping later, so I'll get a few things like breadsticks, cheeses, then the rest on Monday.

Still to do:
. decorate tree
. tidy and decorate downstairs
. bake some cakes/biscuits
. then all the usual Christmas Eve stuff.

familyissues12345 · 19/12/2025 10:23

A few presents to buy

wrapping

randoname · 19/12/2025 10:23

Cheese
Presents
Tree!
And I’m away now until late Sunday and working Tuesday. It’ll happen.

ImFineItsAllFine · 19/12/2025 10:30

Haven't wrapped any presents yet! They are all bought though.

AbbieLexie · 19/12/2025 10:31

Everything except for 2 gifts.

GreyCloudsLooming · 19/12/2025 10:34

Haven’t done anything really apart from get the tree up and bought a few presents. Loads of time left to buy the rest and wrap them. DH will shop for food on Monday and will make up the spare beds for relatives.

slavetothekittens · 19/12/2025 10:35

Presents done.
Cards done.
Food and drink almost done.

Had a good dust round this morning and cleaned the inside woodwork, so I intend to put the cards we've received up later today.

Still to do:
Decorate ( this weekend hopefully)
Finish the food shop ( fresh veg, bargains and anything I've forgotten)

TokyoSushi · 19/12/2025 10:36

Half the wrapping
Main food shop
Big house clean
Top up gift/sweets for nieces

mondaytosunday · 19/12/2025 10:37

Wrap the presents and crochet a couple things, which realistically I’m not going to get done. Off to the PO today to send a couple parcels.
Deep cleaning? What’s that?

Muststopeating · 19/12/2025 10:57

Well I wish I could come up with one last gift for DH, but otherwise presents done - waiting for 2 deliveries which should have been here at the beginning of the week.

Some wrapping still to do but most done.

Today I will make sausage rolls for the freezer, over the weekend will make the cauliflower cheese and make ahead gravy for the leftovers on Boxing Day.

Need to build a new drawer for the utility today to tidy up some of the bits that get left lying round and drive me nuts.

House is clean (though won't stay that way with 3 DC finishing school today).

Feeling mostly on top of it as my goal is not to be a stressed out mess in the days before. But I cheat my taking an extra week off work before the kids break up!

Alondra · 19/12/2025 10:57

Nothing really except doing the seafood shopping on the 24th at 5.00am. I have to leave home at 4.30 because even if is 10 mins away without traffic, there'll be a queue already.

House is clean, laundry is done ( I changed bedding today), and presents and most of the shopping is done. On Monday I'll quickly go to the green grocer to get fruits and vegs and that's it.

SJM1988 · 19/12/2025 10:59

To do:
Write the food plan
Do the food shopping
Wrap stocking presents

All the cleaning - although it is only us at home (2adults and 2DC) so no deep cleaning etc NEEDS to be done and could be done after Christmas

AlwaysADramaHadEnough · 19/12/2025 11:00

Wash and put back on the Xmas bedding on dcs bed which I'll probably do tomorrow or Sunday.
Last grocery bits which isn't much . Get the spare 2 chairs and centre part of table out of storage unit. Hardly anything to be honest

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 19/12/2025 11:01

A few ‘in person’ gifts left to buy
food shopping to pack away
Amazon haul to get
mugs to be picked up from pottery shop

then just all the fun stuff! We wrap on Christmas Eve

PositivityVibes · 19/12/2025 11:03

Buy the turkey, clean house, work out how the heck I can fit everyone round the table, buy a few more presents (just been through everything and most things are bought), meal plan for next week, buy more knock off Baileys!

Purlant · 19/12/2025 11:07

Nothing!!

clary · 19/12/2025 11:07

Oooh love a “what’s left” thread.

I have been wrapping as I go (great tip!) so all that’s left to wrap is anything not here yet, which is IIRC two gifts.

Blitzed some food shopping last night so just need butchers, fresh fruit and green veg, flowers, bread, milk and other basics

Carol service Sunday

It's a Wonderful Life at locals arts cinema Tuesday (annual tradition, usually earlier)

Then food prep obvs. Whenever I can as I am at work on Chr Eve

Oh and decorate tree! We always do it late (real needle drop tree, never up till about 18 Dec) but even for us we are behind (various good reasons). Dd to do that this weekend.

ETA I see teenvtwenties (can’t tag) is as late as we are with the tree!

youarebeingsoextrarightnow · 19/12/2025 11:28

present to buy, presents to wrap, food to buy, complete house to clean and beds to change and I'm working all the way up to Christmas 😭

TeenToTwenties · 19/12/2025 11:34

@clary Not late with the tree. Smile

It only ever goes up on the last day of term. Neither I nor DD can cope with education and Christmas decorations simultaneously!

SimplyBudgie · 19/12/2025 11:38

A stocking tat run. Majority of my shopping is online and done but I need to get all the chocolate coins/socks/ sweets/random stocking crap x 3 dc. An hour in poundland and B&M tomorrow and i'll be done.

Then foodshop and a small handful left to wrap.

clary · 19/12/2025 11:42

Well quite. People at work were shocked yesterday when I said I was putting it in the stand last night (massive job bringing it in from the bucket of water in the garden! It then needs to stand for a day to let the branches drop.

But tbf we have loads of decs, some v heavy, and a non-drop tree cannot cope – so we get a trad spruce (man it’s wiiiide) and if I put it up any earlier it would be a twig now. 😂

DelinquentSnails · 19/12/2025 11:49

All I’ve got left to do is to fly to Australia with DH and four teens this evening.

I’ve taken Christmas off this year and feel much better for it.

CoastalCalm · 19/12/2025 11:55

Last delivery of presents due today , tree to go up , presents to wrap , cards to write , groceries to get , seafood platter and gifts to drop off Christmas Eve.

Going out for a curry for Christmas lunch , unwell so debating not bothering with tree and to top it off I fell over the dog earlier and have really hurt my knee and will be covered in bruises 🤣
