Seem to have been constantly deep cleaning all week and sorting presents. However, getting there.

Currently waiting for final Xmas presents to be delivered, so I can finish off wrapping presents.

I still have our old neighbour to visit, which I sort of include this in the prep as it's usually done inbetween jobs.

Clean laminate in extension.

Will clean bathroom and hoover today/tomorrow with a view to a quick go over next week.

Food shopping later, so I'll get a few things like breadsticks, cheeses, then the rest on Monday.

Only thing I have to do food wise is get the salad stuff like spring onions, lettuce , tomatoes etc and will do that sunday or monday for the xmas eve buffet. Dh will pick up milk, bread, buns on the 24th.

Everything else is mostly organised and only thing I have to do is transform the big table with all the christmas table covers and decor on monday as usually put out buffet breakfasts etc from the 23rd until the 27th and of course all the xmas buffets/ dinners etc.

Deep cleaning has all been done so it's literally giving everything a once over each day which doesnt take long as the days of running around after toddlers young kids are over now. From monday that will be me in hibernation mode to relax and enjoy the xmas period.

HansHolbein · 19/12/2025 12:44

Clean house this weekend
Prepare dining room
Fresh food shop Tuesday

Imperfectpolly · 19/12/2025 12:51

I have the majority of DCs presents wrapped.
Waiting for a few last bits to arrive for them.

Have to go to town on Sunday to buy gifts for others.

Food delivery coming on Monday so need to put everything in the basket!

House has to be cleaned.

I usually make my own stuffing and Yorkshire etc but don't know if I'm going to have the time.

Have to watch lots of Xmas movies with DC.

gamerchick · 19/12/2025 12:52

We have to go to the metro centre. I've been smug not needing to go and then it dawned on me.

Feel a bit ill at the thought.

SnowyVillage · 19/12/2025 12:54

Presents are all bought and wrapped.

Food shopping will be done Monday.

Need to have a good tidy and clean up but I have a toddler so no point doing it too soon or I'll just be redoing it.

Will do some baking in the next few days.

ConnieHeart · 19/12/2025 12:56

Wrap everything, bar 2 presents that have already been given out

But they're only for the 2 dds & OH

SheSpeaks · 19/12/2025 13:01

Pretty much everything. Most of the gift shopping is done, so have gifts on the way or bought for about 80% but still need some more.
all the wrapping.
The meal plans, editing the online shops, and all the cooking. Still don’t know what we are having for Xmas dinner and I’m cooking for 16.
The big clean and setting up all the bed arrangements for all the guests needs doing.
supposed to be hosting a nye party but I haven’t sorted that yet.

Working until 5pm Xmas Eve so who know how it will all be done.

Mikart · 19/12/2025 13:06

Absolutely nothing!

campaignforreasonabledebate · 19/12/2025 13:09

Finish work. Start thinking about presents (probably this weekend). Then have a think about anything else on Tuesday / Wednesday.

Glennponder · 19/12/2025 13:10

Not much - as long as my grocery delivery doesn't have loads of missing items 😬
Off out tonight for our annual festive theatre trip 🎄
I need to deep clean the bathroom at the weekend, and the usual washing of course.
I've just twitched and ordered another gift, which should arrive tomorrow 😬

deplorabelle · 19/12/2025 13:13

At least two and a half more hours of paid work
A cumulative total of 5 and a half hours of choir practice
Sing carol service and two Christmas services
Two lots of church flower arranging
Join Christingle making working party if time (guilt at leaving old ladies to make 250 Christingles if I don't)

Clean house
Decorate the house - nothing is up yet
Most of the food shopping (turkey should be delivered, thank goodness)
About half the wrapping still left to do - not much as no adult gifts this year
Panic buy more child gifts and snacks
Choose and donate to suitable charities for each adult in lieu of adult gifts
Text people who've sent me cards and apologize for not sending them cards

Pack for visiting distant relatives after Christmas

DH has filled the whole of Saturday with a fairly tiring family day out because he thinks there is time and we can relax because we are on holiday 😫

BangingOn · 19/12/2025 13:13

I am done- presents bought and wrapped, food shopping done. We aren’t hosting anyone this year (except for adult DSS who will join us for dinner) so that reduces a lot of the work compared to years when we have overnight guests.

I am working until Tuesday but hoping things will be quiet and I can start to wind down after today.

TheChosenTwo · 19/12/2025 13:13

buy some presents, wrap some presents, sort out food shop. A few presents are out for delivery today. I’m WFH, it’s lunch time and I thought I’d use the time to wrap
some presents but instead I’ve lit the fire and am about to watch something festive 😂

frozendaisy · 19/12/2025 13:27

The only job left that is just me is the food delivery order on Sunday.

Rest we split

BrieAndChilli · 19/12/2025 13:28

I've got loads to do. illnesses, scout camp and events, work stuff etc means that I am really behind!

  • give the house a massive tidy and clean, its a right state.
  • work out what presents I still need to buy
  • ALL the wrapping
  • Food shop
  • DS birthday on monday so need to think about that!
  • Prep for visitors staying
  • Various food prep I can do ahead of the day
  • take DS2 to his eye appt
  • Hope DH can sort the car leak out (water in the floor) otherwise ££££
  • try and feel better and get some festive cheer!
Squirrelblanket · 19/12/2025 14:50

I need to buy lottery tickets to go in the Christmas dinner table gifts.

And collect a prescription but that's not very Christmassy!

BiddyPopthe2nd · 19/12/2025 15:19

Clean my apartment - fully. Dry today’s laundry, wash the darks, change and wash the towels and the sheets, and get those 3 loads dry.

Finish emptying out fresh things (mostly by eating, I hope). Empty all the bins and dump empty bottles.

pack my case - and choose clothes to bring home.
Buy PJs for DD (her request).

Wrap and post a present that ought to go from here.
Buy presents and write cards for each on my team.

put the soddin’ tree back in the basement cave as it’s not going up now.

Give my face a proper clean, shave my legs, deep condition my hair.

once I get home early next week:
Wrap the rest of the presents - what I bring home and whatever DH has acquired.
do some decorating (won’t be a tree for space reasons but something!).Maybe just buy a wreath.

Do the big food shop.

probably continue the hunt for PJs in city centre. Probably meet a couple of work people for coffee if I get to city.

possibly buy logs (DH may have actually done this).
Possibly clean the house - but DH has been keeping fairly on top of that.

find time for sleep.

find time to finish 101 reports that need doing.

Decided I’m not sending cards.

Ohhhthedrama · 19/12/2025 15:57

Nothing. We aren't hosting anyone at all this year. All presents wrapped (including birthday). Kids finish school today so after 2.51 pm we are in relax mode. Dh will do food shop (nice easy buffet this year) and alcohol shop probably on Tuesday. I have spa day on Tues with DD for her birthday. Apart from that nothing at all planned. Bliss.

WilfredsPies · 19/12/2025 20:03
  • Scrub the place from top to bottom,
  • find somewhere for a million other toys to go so they won’t get in the way,
  • do a tip run with the microwave
  • collect a medium sized Pickford van worth of packages that I had delivered to my mums while we’re at work,
  • 27 loads of washing,
  • another 3 supermarket trips, which DH will do, but I know he’ll ignore the bleach, washing up liquid, milk and loo roll on the list because he thinks they are boring
  • wrap 40+ odd presents up,
  • find 3 presents that I remember putting in a safe place and now can’t find,
  • organise a toddler wrapping up gifts for his parents,
  • find somewhere for all the chocolates and sweets to go that aforementioned dairy free, chocolate obsessed toddler won’t eat them,
  • organise a new wheel for the slow puncture on the car,
  • brush all the leaves away from the front door and polish the letterbox,
  • put a new set of fairy lights on the tree because last years stopped working after an hour (seriously not impressed John Lewis, they’re only a year old!)
  • do a load of sewing to turn pillows into inner pads to fit some awkward size cushions I really want on the sofa for Christmas Day, that I refused to pay an insane price for inner pads for
  • oh, and finish off some work stuff so I don’t get behind and have a nightmare day trying to catch up when I get back.

I’ve got the serious twitch for everyone I buy gifts for and I really want to buy some new fabric that I can’t afford.

But on the plus side I did manage to make it to the local Christmas market this year. It was crap and I only bought a loaf of sourdough that tasted horrible.

GennaroHolly · 19/12/2025 20:39

Not much thank goodness!
December has been non stop, we held a big party, had a birthday to plan and celebrate, all the usual school things to remember and all the extra Christmas shopping and planning. Plus, I had an interview and got a new job.

Now, all I have left is a bit of wrapping, couple of small last min gifts and the vegetable shop on Christmas eve.

The next few days are all about Christmas things, seeing family, meals out and Carol service. Lovely.

FridayNighFeeling · 19/12/2025 20:39

Got to go and cook a Christmas meal at the in laws house early next week. Before we go I need to: clean our house, pack my clothes etc and the food (everyone else old enough to sort themselves)
Once back, I need to go do a food shop for our actual Christmas eve/day/boxing day, wrap all the presents and collapse!
In the middle of it all, I'm looking forward to: carol service Sunday night, Santa train, NT property visit as pit stop on our journey and catching up with some friends during Twixmas

Cheersmedears123 · 19/12/2025 20:39
  • Sort out DS stocking presents.
  • Buy quite a few presents for relatives.
  • Collect present I ordered for DH.
  • All the wrapping.
  • Food shop.
  • DH and I have a list of Christmas films to get through.
  • I have a few more days left at work.

I'm feeling very relaxed but have left things rather late on the present front.

Clefable · 19/12/2025 20:42

Clean house, food delivery on 22nd, pick up meat from butcher on Christmas Eve, construct DD2’s Gabby’s Dollhouse after she’s gone to bed on Christmas Eve then get all the presents downstairs and under the tree!

Macinae · 19/12/2025 21:05

Take dog for xmas groom monday and drop card and shortbread off to groomers.
Finalise food order (just the fresh stuff left as I've been buying non perishable/freezeable stuff/booze for a while).
Go through xmas eve party food in freezer and check if any of it needs defrosting before cooking.
Wrapping.
Friend staying over on the 23rd so usual cleaning/tidying/hosting prep.

wendywoopywoo222 · 19/12/2025 21:12

Got 14 presents to get. Wrap them and do food shopping. I’m sure it will all work out.
