Seem to have been constantly deep cleaning all week and sorting presents. However, getting there.

Currently waiting for final Xmas presents to be delivered, so I can finish off wrapping presents.

I still have our old neighbour to visit, which I sort of include this in the prep as it's usually done inbetween jobs.

Clean laminate in extension.

Will clean bathroom and hoover today/tomorrow with a view to a quick go over next week.

Food shopping later, so I'll get a few things like breadsticks, cheeses, then the rest on Monday.

Clean and tidy
Buy food we are eating on Christmas Day ( on 23rd)
Buy alcohol

FourCatMama · 20/12/2025 00:55

Finish Christmas cards and start wrapping and stuff my daughter's stocking and Santa Bag.

PGmicstand · 20/12/2025 00:58

Everything, pretty much.
Most of the food we need is sorted, and I've bought all the presents bar some stocking fillers.
Cleaning, tidying, wrapping, decorating, cooking all to be done.
And cards - need to hand deliver about a dozen.

BettyTurnerthewindskeptlaughingatme · 20/12/2025 00:58

Fruit and veg shopping on Monday.

notlisteningwithmother · 20/12/2025 01:07

Some helpful reminders here!
Cards and gifts posted and most of food shopping done apart from fruit and veg.

Saturday morning will be a bit of a frenzy! Family arriving late pm so planning to make mince pies with DC. I still need to wash bed linen X2, clean and tidy kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, take glass for recycling,

Presents bought but not wrapped. I usually stay up late one evening, put something christmassy on the TV and set myself up with paper and tape next to the tree. I enjoy wrapping so it's a nice bit of 'me' time.

Not at all festive but I'll be taking some time for self care one morning - tea in bed,.warm shower, deal with hard skin on heels, fur nails etc. Nothing major but a little oasis of calm.

Misscoffee · 20/12/2025 01:13

I haven`t started soooo nothing to do.

Whichone2024 · 20/12/2025 05:35

Wrapping - but I’ve the day to myself all day Monday so purposely leaving it until then to enjoy it with a Christmas movie.

and then make some cookies and soup.

Focusispower · 20/12/2025 06:04

We’ve all been really ill this week which has been heavy going! Plans fell apart a bit but I think we’re all well enough to enjoy the weekend. I feel behind but that’s not really the case. The house is clean (god love the cleaner who came on Thursday) and we’re going away this morning for the weekend to see family and that’s all booked and sorted, and their gifts are wrapped and packed.

Still to do:

Get MIL a present (this is really DH job but I will step in)
Sort vouchers for my Dad
Get BIL’s dog a present
Choose the perfume that I want DH to get me for Christmas
Marzipan and ice the Christmas cake
Drop off nursery staff presents - one more to buy for
Christmas food shop (cooking for 7 on Christmas Day) - will do it on 23rd
Food/Meal plans for Xmas Eve and Boxing Day/ 27th/28th
Work on Monday (I’m taking Tuesday off last minute as I’ve had enough!)
Firm up plans - I was going to have people over on 23 or 24 but I’ve been invited out both nights so I think I’ll accept and save myself the hassle! Couple more friends to arrange a catch up with and possibly plan a Boxing Day walk with and then that’s us sorted.
wrap presents - always do this on Xmas Eve
Going away 29th - 2nd so packing and planning for that.
Fit the new toilet seat in the family bathroom

EleanorReally · 20/12/2025 06:20

decorate tree
buy food
wrap presents
one more present for dd and i think we are going shopping together

TimeForATerf · 20/12/2025 06:29

Almost Nothing.

I had done it all and put decorations up, bought and wrapped everything by 25th November. Had also bought drinks.

Bought cheese, veg and cream with good dates yesterday.

Just have the pork pie to collect on the 24th.

SharonEllis · 20/12/2025 06:37

Still some presents to buy, haven't started wrapping except those that have to be posted.
Last few to post today
Last cards to write and post.
Cake made but not marzipanned or iced (have to buy marzipan)
Made puddings ages ago but need to check them & prep for steaming on the day
Make some mincepies
We have a supermarket delivery coming but also like to do a real shop. Turkey & veg to collect from farm shop on christmas eve.
Finish decorating
Big clean & lots of tidying up
Change beds & try to get to bottom of laundry basket
Also still working so behind with everything!

MrsLindaBelcher · 20/12/2025 14:57

I was going to wrap presents today, but realised my DD has used all my sellotape doing craft stuff. Went to the shop earlier to buy some and forgot to pick some up, so wrapping will have to wait til tomorrow. Need to do a last minute dash to shops next week for a few stocking fillers and salad/veg bits and clean the house properly. I’ve just had a baby so everything’s been left til last minute this year and I’m trying not to stress too much about what’s left to do 😫

thetallfairy · 20/12/2025 15:00

Love reading these

I no longer care

I have panicked
Done so much online shopping back in Oct to be on the safe side and now it just needs to be over

Feel so bad even saying that but this year is a v hard one

Well done to so many of you for getting so much done !!! Its never easy

Heyhelga · 20/12/2025 15:51

Need to go John Lewis and get some nice perfume and cologne for my mum and dad

Wrap presents (Monday night whilst dh takes DS to his football club Christmas party)

Big food shop Monday

Big clean of the house (was gonna do that today but overdid it at my works do last night and was too delicate this morning for housework. Will do tomorrow)

BiddyPopthe2nd · 20/12/2025 16:59

I’ve made progress today - wet load of laundry dried and darks washed. Kitchen floor mopped. PJs found for DD and present for DH. And extra shopping DD asked for while I was out. Chocs for home bought (not on my original list but my mental one.)

Made some progress on emptying food. Dumped half the glass bottles. Watered outdoor plants. Remembered to put 2 ice blocks in freezer to freeze (for fridge bag in suitcase when travelling).

Now in from town, I need to fold laundry that’s dry and sort some dinner. And hang out darks and wash towels. Changing bed and emptying bins is waiting for tomorrow.

lucysmam · 20/12/2025 17:01

Ice 3x small Christmas cakes
Make a shopping trip voucher for dd2 on Canva

Prep Christmas dinner, on Christmas Eve

Annual walk into town on Christmas Eve for veggies from the market, and a nip to the cheese man, see what he has that looks interesting to try.

Almost EVERYTHING for dd2's 16th birthday on the 28th 🙈. I have been exceptionally disorganised this year & had to buy birthday cards from a dreadful selection in Card Factory, yesterday. I'll order some nicer ones tonight & pass these on if they arrive. Also need to find her a decent gift 🤔 . So far she has a book, from her extensive and varied list, a lipbalm she asked for (the name is something birthday ish), and theatre tickets. No "wow" gift to open <sigh>. I need to think about a cake, and topper too! But they're home now for the holidays...so less sneakily paint it opportunities!

RuthW · 20/12/2025 18:13

All done. Shopping coming tomorrow. What’s not there we will go without. Tomorrow is my only day off till Christmas Day.

Honestly, my husband does more at home / with the kids than I do. (Not in a MN "he's a great dad" way, but actually).

He's self employed and only ever takes time off to spend with us. Does the lions share of attending to kids while we're away, while I do the organising etc in the background. We divide and conquer and make a good team. There are things I prefer to do myself so he stays out the way and quietly sorts out all the other things - then he comes behind me and tidied up the chaos I cause in the kitchen.

I take your point, but I get a generous annual leave allowance and I find taking this extra week really helps me feel prepared and able to relax when it comes to it. I am not a selfless enough person to burn my leave in a way that doesn't benefit me.

GRCP · 20/12/2025 21:51

8 gifts left to wrap plus DC stocking gifts to wrap. Need to clean out the fridge then put away the big shop when it comes on Tuesday. Going to give the house a good clean and tidy tomorrow.

We’re going on a light trail tomorrow evening. Hairdressers on Monday then baking late afternoon. I’ll most likely finish the wrapping on Tuesday morning.

IggyAce · 20/12/2025 22:05

Had a family party this afternoon so have done the deep clean.
Need to wrap a few gifts, grab a couple of gift cards.
Food wise we need Veg, a couple of cheeses and some dessert.

Nourishinghandcream · 20/12/2025 22:14

Absolutely nothing.😁

Presents bought & wrapped ages ago.
Cards posted 2-weeks ago.
Tree & decs went up this week.
Did the "fresh" food shop an hour ago (Sainsbury's was great, practically empty and shelves groaning with produce) so that it is.

Actually there is one thing.😖
Need to go through the TV mag and set all my favourites to record (starting tomorrow with Beyond Paradise).

washingfrenzy · 21/12/2025 07:13

Tesco due here this morning. Anything missed or needing better dates will be done on Tuesday when I pick up our meat.

Cleaning. We have friends for a late lunch today so will be making a start shortly the mental note to keep on top of it so not much to do before Christmas Eve.

One more gift to buy which is online.

I have tomorrow left at work so just need to get beyond that I am pretty much sorted.

CantThinkOfAnotherUsernane · 21/12/2025 07:22

I need to do my cleaning today and the kitchen cupboards need a sort out.
All presents are bought and wrapped, I need to do the food shop today too, DH is on nights tonight up until Christmas Eve so it really needs doing today.
Other than that I’m all done

OttersMayHaveShifted · 21/12/2025 07:27

Wrap all the presents. Buy some booze and the ingredients for a dessert that dh will make to take to where we're being hosted. That's about it. Do a bit of cleaning before we go, but just normal routine clean. We are hosting on NYE, but will be away from 23rd to 29th, so will do a proper pre-guest clean when we get back.

soccermum10 · 21/12/2025 07:30

Just the food shop on Tuesday 😊
