I haven’t seen one of these thread yet this year and with lots of “help need ideas for…” type posts thought might be useful, plus I’m nosy and love hearing what everyone has bought their DC

(misers, moaners and the “DC should only gets a resource book, pair of socks and a satsuma” brigade need not comment.)

Three teenage girls 14, 17 & 18 was in my element shopping for them this year if I’m honest.

Phew all done, looking at this I think there is a gap in my youngest DD’s sack (like to keep things equal) so I’d love to read what you have all got your DC.

Thank you so much for this post. I am eagerly waiting for pre teen boy ideas! I have none and time is running out!!!

Ignore the posts saying insensitive and bragging etc. everything will offend someone. You’re allowed to enjoy Christmas.

Owly11 · 18/12/2025 07:16

Oh hurray it is one of these threads! I guess spending thousands of pounds on xmas presents just isn't as much fun if you can't also show off about it on social media.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 18/12/2025 07:17

You lost me at booze in your 14 year old daughters stocking.

We spoil our DC but we have the good grace not to boast about it and luckily the DC don’t either.

MinnieMountain · 18/12/2025 07:18

@Phonicshaskilledmeoff how old is your DS?

thebear1 · 18/12/2025 07:18

I've enjoyed reading your list op, very lucky daughters. We used to do a table gift instead of a cracker. It was a last gift at the end of the day. I have two ds who mostly want cash.

Sounds like a lovely xmas day for them hope you all have a fantastic day .

My boys are much older now 20 and 21 both working so get what they want when they want it but have got them both lovely presents that they have asked for plus a load of surprises and a huge chocolate & sweets snack bag . And we are booked for a lovely xmas dinner so no cooking can all just relax and chill ( when I finish work)

Might steal your idea of a table present

Thank you, hope you all have a wonderful day.

A table present was started by own parents when I was growing up. Always something nice and wrapped really beautiful and set beside the place setting.

Sometimes it was a lovely bath product or a bit of premium makeup and I often mix it up year to year, either something smaller value or a bigger present to keep them guessing.

We love surprises in this house!!

That’s exactly how we do it @thebear1 last gift of the day and something to look forward to!

What on earth is a "table present?" 😳

I am appreciating the thread. Is it boasting when anonymous?

Some people have things others don’t. And some people spend things on stuff others wouldn’t. That’s ok. Other people have family that others don’t - I don’t think anyone will suggest not posting about them.

Oh give over, a bottle of Baileys drunk responsibly is hardly going to turn her into an alcoholic. I used to have a bottle of Baileys or Advocaat at that age for Xmas and im not a raging alcoholic - in fact I don't drink at all now. The only alcohol I might contemplate is one glass of Baileys at Xmas time. It's more like a pudding than a drink.

You’ve bought your 14 year old daughter Baileys?

Yes I drank as a teen too but there’s a lot more evidence available to us now about how harmful alcohol is under 16.

PineappleGrape · 18/12/2025 07:28

Wow what a lot of presents. They are very lucky. I always wonder though, isn’t it genuinely tricky to find places to put all these new items?
And, if one gives this volume of gifts on all special occasions, don’t you simply run out of things you can think of to give for the next birthday and the next Christmas etc?

deadpantrashcan · 18/12/2025 07:29

Allromanticsmeetthesamefate · 18/12/2025 06:39

It’s a present you leave on a child’s bed.

Edited

Why are you being snarky when people ask about this? You want to know everyone’s presents, and people want to know what this new concept you’ve made up is.

Maybe she plans to have a ripple before her next riding lesson 🙄 OP is the humble bragger of the century with this post. But alas, we need not comment 😂

These kind of threads can be so contentious! I guess it pays to remember that some people use Xmas to set their child up for the year ahead whereas others buy and replace all year round and give small and fun gifts at Christmas.

We're definitely the latter , my youngest has a train set and some yoto cards and my teenage child has sparkling wine , chocolates , nail polish , perfume and money.

JudgeBread · 18/12/2025 07:38

Lot of sour grapes on this thread, as is to be expected!

Your girls are very lucky and I hope you all have a lovely day! (I also used to get Bailey's in my stocking and I have managed to not grow up to be a raging alcoholic)

Pool table sounds fun. Is it a kiddy one?

Exactly @TheGrimSmile It’s actually a miniature bottle and singular can of Rattlers that’s she gets to enjoy at special occasions like her sister.

My eldest DD had the odd glass of table wine too, bought a few drinks to take to parties from 16 onwards and she is lamest straightest student going so we are obviously doing something right!!
