The best bit of Christmas for me is seeing people open the presents, I was hugely excited for the interactive dinosaur globe I found for my dad to give my great nephew (and thankfully he loved it) and I am hoping BIL is blown away by his vintage Snoopy lamp.

I'm also quite looking forward to seeing what people think of a couple of the homemade gifts but there's always a tinge of nervousness for them too 😥

Sadly DH scuppered his main gift idea by handing me two (expensive) wrenches and telling me I could wrap them for him so will have to wait for his birthday for what I had planned - at least I know he'll like the wrenches though!

The Gabby’s Dollhouse for DD2(3). Every time we see it somewhere in a magazine or shop advert, she looks longingly but then says ‘It’s too big to have for Christmas’ 🥹

She’s got the house and all the rooms and stuff so she’s going to be so excited. DH is going to set up the main house on Xmas Eve and wrap it and then the rooms will be under the tree for her.

Dd has been desperate for the ouchies puppy for months so will be thrilled to get it. I'm also excited for her to open her squish alongs as I am actually also quite keen to play with them with her!

My son who is 18 and lives away from home and doesn’t really need anything. I have made him a hamper of all his favourite things. Not necessarily expensive but thoughtful.

I have got myself an amazing present which is a trip to take my 2 teenagers for a weekend away in February. I can’t really pretend this is a gift for them as I am way more excited and it’s me that’s desperate to spend time with them. I’ve got them hats, gloves and some of the local currency to spend whilst we are there though. It will be freezing!

onwardandupwards · 12/12/2025 18:12

Ive got my sister her favourite childhood game that she talks about every Christmas and how much she loved it (got lost in a house move). I've got my ds a much longed for F1 vintage jacket, so excited to give both gifts 🎁

Curiousrobin · 12/12/2025 18:20

Our nearly-4 year old loves dinosaurs and so we've got him the Primal Hatch dinosaur that hatches from the egg. I think he'll be amazed!

Rockfordpeach · 12/12/2025 18:21

The tickets to Florence and the machine i told DD i couldnt get

Aparecium · 12/12/2025 19:12

Adult dd likes to wear a tailored waistcoat with a bow tie. Last year I got her a lovely fob watch on a ribbon, which she loves to wear with her waistcoat. This year I have bought her a wooden bow tie, laser-cut in an elegant pattern. It’s really lovely and I know she’ll like it. But what I hope is that she’s never seen anything like it and that she will be wowed by it.

Whichone2024 · 12/12/2025 19:27

A juicy bag for my God daughter! (She turns 18 just before Christmas so spoiling her extra this year!)

Crushed23 · 12/12/2025 19:31

I’m building a Zabar’s hamper to gift to my PILs for our first Christmas together (only been together with their son for ~11 months). They’re big foodies and they’re going to love it. 🥰

TheChosenTwo · 12/12/2025 19:35

Not really anything yet, I’ve not been concentrating on Christmas enough!
although dc1 is going to love the sylvanian families keyring that she spotted. She is 21 and still charmed by utter crap 😂

Vladandnikki · 12/12/2025 19:35

Laufey tickets for DD

Rictasmorticia · 12/12/2025 19:36

My son’s list was mainly food items. The last item was a puppy. So I have got him the cutest puppy ever. It’s is a soft toy.

i know it will make him laugh and as he is 45 he won’t be too disappointed.

BeforeSigourneyWeaverTheyWoveTheirOwnSigourneys · 12/12/2025 19:36

My Chemical Romance tickets. So excited because they were hard to get.

A 40 year old phantom of the opera music box for dd, she's going to love it.

A junji Ito statue collection for dd, she will be obsessed.

A personalised Funko Pop for ds.

A squishmallow the same breed as my dog for youngest dd.

A particular tshirt that has been impossible to find for dd, and I got 5, it's the only one she wears so she will be very excited to have multiples.

Lego goonies set for dp.

I bloody love giving gifts.

DS11 has asked for a gaming pc for Christmas. DH loves gaming but will never spend the money on himself. We had to cancel his bday trip this summer and I bought him the pc tower with the ££. DS11 has got a massive curved monitor for his pc and DH is so impressed by it. He doesn’t know I’ve got one for him too.

Cornishmumofone · 12/12/2025 19:51

DD9 has asked for an American Girl doll for the last two Christmases. It’s top of her list again this year… but not just any doll, specifically Kit Kittredge. We can’t afford an AG doll, but the specific one DD asked for came up on Facebook marketplace in immaculate condition with a key accessory. I was also able to find the matching miniature doll and 4 second-hand associated books, so I’ve wrapped them all up in lovely tissue paper in a fancy box. I know that DD will be overjoyed by this present as it’s something she’s been so desperate to have.

AuntieDen · 12/12/2025 20:27

all of these are so lovely. So many people hunting down really special things for loved ones ❤

A handmade item (too niche to say without potentially giving it away). It has taken me most of the year to do and I know it'll be really appreciated and loved.

NorthernChinchilla · 12/12/2025 21:25

Really random, but I have a toilet roll/paper plushie that I'm giving to the DC and DH, in recognition of the vast amount of the bloody stuff they go through!
Cost about £7, but can't wait. Plus the fight afterwards as to who will take proper ownership Grin

CoodleMoodle · 12/12/2025 21:56

My DC both love the movie My Neighbor Totoro. I took them to see the stage show this year, and they loved it so much, as did I!

I got them Totoro and Catbus soft toys from eBay, which I know for a fact they'll swap between them (they've done this before), so I'm giving them as a "share" present which is wrapped in both of their wrapping papers and they open together. They're SO soft and lovely, they'll love them. I also bought them the picture book, even though they're 7 and 11!

Isadora2007 · 12/12/2025 22:03

A retired/limited edition jellycat for dd 16 who will be so shocked I found one!!

A weights bench for ds as I keep
telling him we don’t have any more room for his fitness stuff but I got a bargain here on the bargains thread so I caved.

a lovely necklace for adult dd with initials for her babies on it.

badminton racquets for DH as he was a keen player years ago and would like to get back to it… so I got him a decent Yonex one and a spare that I may agree to use sometimes…

Christmasiscoming2025 · 12/12/2025 22:15

My 4 year old is getting the Hot Wheels Mario Kart Rainbow Road Race Track that he really wants that I really didn’t think I would be able to get him as it’s over £100 brand new and the cars are sold separately 🫣 I managed to find someone selling one on marketplace for £50 with 8 cars included and I think he is going to be so happy when he sees it!! 😁

Iknowdino · 12/12/2025 22:40

I'm looking forward to giving dd2 a new phone. She would never think to ask for one or expect it but she will be really pleased to have a decent phone. It's purple too which she will love. I'm also looking forward to giving dd1 some perfume she saw in the airport over summer, I managed to get a picture of it but have pretended I forgot the name of it when she mentioned it after so she will be really surprised and pleased, it's a really pretty bottle.

Kickinthenostalgia · 12/12/2025 22:58

The gifts I got for DS17 because it’s the first time in about 10 years he’s given me any ideas what he wants. He asked for lady gagas born this way vinyl which has his favourite song on. And dd13 bought him a lady gaga vinyl. She chose it and he literally came down and told me if he gets money for Christmas or his birthday (11 days later) he’s going to buy the fame album which is the one dd has got him so can’t wait to see his face.
dd13 has been asking for fenty beauty set for the last 3 years, finally got her one so can’t wait to see her face when she opens that 😂

Iamnotaloggrip · 13/12/2025 07:55

For me it’s something very niche that cost £4 from a charity shop for DD. I couldn’t believe it when I found it! I think she’ll love it (she is getting something much more expensive that she’ll also love but I hope this will be something she’ll treasure).

This is amazing! I've just googled the price of those dolls and I can't believe it 😲
