Thread 20 - the one with Christmas?

I'm taking a punt that this one might see us until Christmas. Will likely live to be proved wrong but let's go with the punt!

The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) Gah! Just found out that we are having to get a token idea for DH's uncle, who is unexpectedly visiting after 5 years.

What do you get for an eccentric 70 something man who loves pink and rarely leaves the town where he lives? Amazon or IRL are about my only options (have a lot of the normal shops nearby and can slack off work to get something if needed)

How about a potted peace lily or some other kind of indoor plant? Garden centres near me are selling at a discount, or amazon if you have none near you

Just a quick note for anyone who had Amazon Prime. I ordered a diary for DD for Christmas earlier this week with 'Prime next day delivery' Amazon often use Royal Mail and its now showing as delayed, expected around 23rd so I'm potentially looking at it not being here for Christmas (I've told DD that hopefully it will be here, ready to use for the New Year) Obviously, I know I could cancel / get a refund potentially, but she really wants it as its a specific one she asked for.

If it helps, it's not all gloom with Royal mail. I sent a parcel first class on Friday and it arrived Sat am.

Fingers crossed!

He is notoriously not green fingered, unfortunately! Ended up buying him a quiz book about one of his specialist interests (they tend to be quite intense). Only the second time DH has made a sensible suggestion this Xmas!

@Puffalicious we went to gladiators live a couple of weeks ago and it was great! Have a fab time I'm a bit jealous we're not going again.

I've got to admit it's brilliant. Presently in the break & ticket prices were worth it to see youngest DS face. He's 13 & has ASN & I honestly think all his Christmasses have come at once. We only told him last night. ☺️

In the spirit of filling up the thread - I finally had a dispatch notice from Anthropologie today!
Order placed 9/12.
It’s the 21 Dec today and the email says it ‘will be’ dispatched on the 15th Dec - so it ‘will be’ dispatched nearly a week ago 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. The words p*ss up and brewery spring to mind ……

Does anyone know of any bargain candle advent calendars?
I buy 1 for my mum every year and try to get ahead for.next year when they are at a decent price.
We used to get Yankee but since they've changed their candles they dont burn as well.

Boots has 172 different things on offer in the £10 Tuesday sale, many possibly suitable for gifts if you’re seeing people after Christmas, but no massive discounts there. The best was a reduction I noticed was from £25 for a La Roche Posey moisturiser with a high SPF.

The Squishmallows I ordered last week haven’t arrived yet. I think the original estimated delivery date was tomorrow so there’s still time.

Sainsbury's had lots of Xmas stuff reduced today. I've got my cards and crackers for next year.

They also had some mess free colouring packs reduced to £5.25 so got a couple for the present draw, they are available to add to your online food shop. There were some dinosaur and unicorn stickers reduced to £1.25 too which I got for stockings.

Anthropologie update - had an email yesterday to say it was out of stock (despite ordering nov) and refund coming. Fine, fair enough. This am, it has been delivered..... contacted them and was told they haven't had it in stock so it hasn't been dispatched from them..... explained it came in an anthropologie bag ... and was told I mistaken and I must have ordered it elsewhere and forgotten...... 🤷‍♀️

I'm not senile (yet), but will wish everyone a lovely Christmas!

My Anthropologie order arrived today (due 3rd dec) left outside on the door step. I won't order from them again as their customer service has been awful, they took payment twice and communication was contradictory.
Nice gift for my friends January birthday though.
