There is a baby in my tummy

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 05/12/2025 18:14

My darling old dog died in April. She loved Christmas and always had a pile of presents under the tree (if you give your dog a new toy you should definitely wrap it up in old paper - they love tearing it off!) It won't even feel like Christmas at all without her.

We also have the mayhem of a new puppy to contend with.

@BatshitCrazyWoman sorry! Just properly read your post!!! (Can I blame chemo brain!?)
You finished chemo - wonderful! Have a great Christmas

fudgesmummy · 05/12/2025 18:19

SophieStrawHat · 05/12/2025 18:19

Not married any more! Last Christmas was horrible, this one will be much nicer. Merry Christmas, everyone 🎄

ILoveLucite · 05/12/2025 18:22

My Dad died.

fudgesmummy · 05/12/2025 18:23

@Fatmumslim01 @Doyouthinktheyknow
42lb less for me since last year 🙂
Well done to both of you!!

WonsWoo · 05/12/2025 18:24

There won’t be anybody here except me and DH!

DD is living and working abroad.
DS moved out this year so he and his GF are having their first Christmas in their own home. Too far for us to travel and they don’t have space for us to stay.

My DPs have become increasingly frail this year and don’t want to do anything. We will see them on Christmas Eve.

It’s all good, no falling out and no drama. I’m obviously a little bit sad not to see the DCs but they are both happy and thriving so we’ll enjoy our day just the two of us. First time in 27 years!

Deadringer · 05/12/2025 18:26

Mil gone sadly. Mum the year before.

Hadalifeonce · 05/12/2025 18:29

DS will be home, after 2 Christmases in Australia.😁

justaddittothelist · 05/12/2025 18:30

6 month old son 😊

Isadora2007 · 05/12/2025 18:32

A baby in the family.

and I’m working on Xmas day :(

ToadRage · 05/12/2025 18:37

Not working. Over the last 20 years I have worked EVERY Christmas. In retail Christmas is the busiest time so holidays are not allowed. In some places Christmas day was the only day off, if lucky we have been closed Boxing day too. It was really hard trying to arrange family visits with so much work.

One sad thing - mum is no longer here and she loved Christmas and family. However one good thing- my son who hasn't been in touch for three years, got in touch with us and will be with us at Christmas. He's been unwell and reached out and I'm glad he did.

Oh my! what a lovely lovely surprise and shock for you. Have a wonderful Xmas and healing time with your son, this is what the 'Joy of Xmas' & 'Good tidings' is.

I’m at home and will feef myself well.
I’m on work standby.

Whichone2024 · 05/12/2025 19:50

It’s the first Christmas my whole entire adult life that I haven’t left everything last minute and actually finished the last of my shopping December 1st lol.

twiddleit · 05/12/2025 20:28

My sister won’t be with us. 💔

OneNewEagle · 05/12/2025 20:33

Just 3 adults (one at work same as last year) and 2 pets. Will be same no visitors or calls and we have the same tree. The only difference I can think of is we will have no presents as not giving to each other to save money and there’s no festive food bought apart from a tin of biscuits . It will be a standard meal so probably sandwich and soup and chips for tea. Will wait and see what cards and gifts we are sent.

Allswellthatendswelll · 05/12/2025 20:35

Baby DD (and not pregnant so will be cracking on the champagne!)

Eyesopenwideawake · 05/12/2025 20:36

My friend was here last year. Now her ashes are.

piscofrisco · 05/12/2025 20:37

justabigdisco · 05/12/2025 13:11

I won’t have my lovely dad 💔

Same here :(

Allisgoodtoday · 05/12/2025 20:40

I'm retired. Less money coming in but I'm less stressed as well....life is definitely better this year for that reason. And I'm more organised too.

Openmouthinsertfood · 05/12/2025 20:51

I'm in a new flat! Last one was draughty, very mouldy and small. This one is bigger, much much warmer/no draught and no mould!
Much love and sympathy to those who have lost loved ones. ❤
Congrats to those who have lost weight, and those with new ones in the family. 💝
