I won’t have my lovely dad 💔

Same 💔

largeprintagathachristie · 05/12/2025 13:23

I got pneumonia and fluid around the heart last Christmas. Very much looking forward to NOT having that and being able to enjoy the break.

Trickletreat · 05/12/2025 13:24

4 week old grandaughter😍

BerthaFlapjack · 05/12/2025 13:24

Different holiday cottage in a different part of the country.

Avie29 · 05/12/2025 13:25

Built older DC their own bedroom each in the garden this summer so they will see the under the tree presents before younger DC, we normally all come downstairs together after opening stockings xx

RedToothBrush · 05/12/2025 13:26

DHs best mate is coming.

He didn't last year.

Christmas is better with him.

runwithme · 05/12/2025 13:29

DH is working so its not a traditional meal. Christmas dinner will be in the New Year, and Christmas Day itself will super chilled, which i am looking forward to

ThatGreenFawn · 05/12/2025 13:29

We have flu in the house now instead of Christmas day (despite all being vaccinated)

Thingsthatgo · 05/12/2025 13:30

I bought lots of (tasteful, not blue) outdoor lights in the January sale. I am putting them up this weekend, and I CANNOT WAIT!
I love Christmas - I am fizzing with excitement.

LateMumma · 05/12/2025 13:33

New house!

cramptramp · 05/12/2025 12:57

I’m only buying presents for husband, children and their spouses, and grandchildren this year. No one else.

But I've already bought one for you... 😭

BatshitCrazyWoman · 05/12/2025 13:36

I won't be in the midst of chemo this year. I'll actually be able (and want) to eat! I might be able to stay awake beyond 8 pm (not sure though)!

showyourquality · 05/12/2025 13:38

Went to Mexico last year, last Christmas with dc at home full time this year.

Mamadothehump · 05/12/2025 13:38

11,250 miles

IsThisLifeNow · 05/12/2025 13:41

Going through a seperation, but still living together so its a weird mix of the same, but different. Its weird

My STBExH has a better one. He's out.

StationSquare · 05/12/2025 13:48

Hopefully I won't be spending it in bed with concussion, recovering just in time to go back to work in January. Waves to anyone who knows me

Panicmode1 · 05/12/2025 13:56

We will be at home, rather than in Thailand - and my husband starts a new job 18 months after being made redundant.

(I know I've cheated and that's 2 but I'm super happy about both - even tho I loved Thailand 😊)

Thoughtsandprayers · 05/12/2025 14:00

Dh & ds2 will be cooking the meal. I’ve already ordered the Turkey crown & stuffing from the butchers but everything else is up to them and I’m not interfering.

Ive basically thrown my toys out of the pram this year after a how hard can it be comment! I cook for 11/12 every bloody xmas/easter/family get togethers which I don’t find difficult but it’s everything else that goes with it being Xmas.

Sorry for everyone spending Christmas without a loved one for the first time.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 05/12/2025 14:04

No family staying. Dd and bf live in his home country, hes got his dissertation to finish, shes got a new job and is back in on 27th. Other ds's partner is working boxing day and they rely on trains. Ds that lives near us is on maintenence so will be popping in and out of work. Sad

HappySonHappyMum · 05/12/2025 14:27

I'm 6 stones and 10 pounds lighter!

Edinvillian · 05/12/2025 14:28

My mother in law is no longer with us 😢

Gotback · 05/12/2025 14:28

Won't need a stepladder to put up Christmas decorations. Have moved from a high-ceilinged Victorian townhouse to little cottage.

sunshineandrain82 · 05/12/2025 14:32

A new baby ❤️

luckylavender · 05/12/2025 14:35

My Dad died this year, preceeded by my mum at Christmas 2023. This means that for the first time in my life (63) & my DC’s life, we won’t be spending Christmas in Wales.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 05/12/2025 14:40

One sad thing - mum is no longer here and she loved Christmas and family. However one good thing- my son who hasn't been in touch for three years, got in touch with us and will be with us at Christmas. He's been unwell and reached out and I'm glad he did.
