I have a new tree

OP posts:
Rockfordpeach · 05/12/2025 16:21

I have Multiple Sclerosis

RubynRita · 05/12/2025 16:28

Just buying for 20 year old DS and our lovely neighbours.
No presents from or to DH and I. I feel a lot less pressure this year.
With my low mental health/menopause I might go full Scrooge and not bother with the tree or decorations.

Fatmumslim01 · 05/12/2025 16:29

I'm almost 50 pounds lighter...thanks mounjaro. Still another 30 to go but feeling great!

TrickySquirrel · 05/12/2025 16:30

My dear mum is gone 💔

DarkForces · 05/12/2025 16:33

I'm cooking. Last year we ate out.
Also inspired by another post I've gone down from a size 16 to a 10!

HollyGolightly4 · 05/12/2025 16:37

I can't drink because I'll be 19 weeks pregnant
(after a very long and difficult journey)

❣️

Love to those without your loved ones x

Moonlightfrog · 05/12/2025 16:40

Sorry to all those that are missing people.
This will be my first year without my lovely Nana, though she had 97 Christmas’s. I still have her Christmas card up from last year…..we lost her a few days after Christmas.

Myoldbear · 05/12/2025 16:44

Our church has been reorganised so there is no carol service and no crib service.

Minniliscious · 05/12/2025 16:46

I was in Greece for Christmas last year - we flew out on the 23rd December and the lead up to it was bloody stressful. So happy to be spending it at home this year, even though we had an amazing time.

RoamingToaster · 05/12/2025 16:52

My tree has decorations. My almost two year old has tried to take a few off but I think my persistence is paying off and he’s less interested in playing with the tree.

HarmoniousHumbug · 05/12/2025 17:03

We’re staying in a hotel by the seaside instead of being at home (and me cooking!)

I’m looking forward to a change of scene.

Crushed23 · 05/12/2025 17:03

I feel more settled this year. I emigrated in 2024 and last Christmas was spent doing touristy shit in my new city. This year I’m avoiding all that carnage like the plague and doing my own thing with a new DP and new friends. 😊

moondip · 05/12/2025 17:09

It’ll be my first baby’s first Christmas 🥹

HartlandPoint · 05/12/2025 17:17

I'll have already just become a first-time grandma, or I'll be waiting for the call to tell me I've become a grandma, or I'll be being very laid back about the fact that the baby is showing no sign of wanting to be born that day.😀

Whichever it is, I'm spending the day on my own. The new parents/parents-to-be will be probably be hiding-out overwhelmed with exhaustion/delight/pain/recovery/impatience, and my other child will be at their in-laws as usual because they do Xmas and I don't anymore, which is fine by me.🙂

Theresalittlebitofwitchinyou · 05/12/2025 17:19

Dd1 is seriously ill, spent most of the summer in hospital so long term recovery. I’ve put the foot down with DH no visitors to the house and no volunteering me us for anything else for anyone because I’m getting no sleep, cooking minimum of 12 meals a day and can’t get a minute to even pee without pretending everything is fine let alone baking mince pies for randomers for a holiday I don’t believe in.

Iwantsandybeachesandgoodfood · 05/12/2025 17:44

Last year I cooked and took everything to my mums for a family dinner. My daughter was with her in laws and it was all pretty quiet and very stressful. This year mum’s dementia has progressed so I’ll be doing it at home, bringing her here for as long as she is comfortable, but I’m also drinking and having fun with my children and actually cooking things that I want rather than just pleasing others. It’ll be different but I’m adamant that we don’t have another shit one.

HeartyViper · 05/12/2025 17:46

My Mum isn’t here anymore 💔

Justlovedogs · 05/12/2025 17:47

I won't have my DH 💔

benny77 · 05/12/2025 17:49

First Christmas without my lovely brother who died earlier this year 💔

Doyouthinktheyknow · 05/12/2025 17:53

4+ stone lighter, fitter and so much healthier. Last year was first Christmas without dbro and we spent it with my family, back to normal and working this year.

HelenHywater · 05/12/2025 18:05

My daughter isn't going to be with us (she's abroad)

I'm not longer with my long term DP (broke up just after Christmas last year).

I'm really upset about my dd not being here. The ex, not so much

Sorry to hear about everyone who has lost love ones this year.

CharlieEffie · 05/12/2025 18:06

8 month old baby ❤️

HappyFace2025 · 05/12/2025 18:08

First time making Christmas for 18 month old grandson!!!

viktoria · 05/12/2025 18:11

BatshitCrazyWoman · 05/12/2025 13:36

I won't be in the midst of chemo this year. I'll actually be able (and want) to eat! I might be able to stay awake beyond 8 pm (not sure though)!

Same here.
Chemo on Christmas Eve
All the best @BatshitCrazyWoman

WonderingAboutBabies · 05/12/2025 18:11

We will be at home with our 1 year old! Last year she was in the NICU for 2 weeks over Christmas when she was born 🥲
