Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

Omg thanks @Addictedtobeauty I looked at Smyths but I don’t know how I didn’t see the reduced price on there! @Sasha07 aw thanks for looking for me, that was the one I originally saw but it just looks like it wouldn’t turn up even remotely close to Christmas, it just feels quite spenny when I know she will play with it like once 🫣🤣

Do you have a local (ISH) specialist wine merchant? Ideally an independent one?

There's one in the next town to us who do tasting evenings. I'd give him a gift voucher so he can go and taste some, explore the sorts of nicer wines that he would genuinely enjoy, and come away with a nice bottle or two

Wine's so subjective! It would be a shame to spend good money on a nice bottle and not enjoy it

Fantastic idea! And one I may come back to in the future, but currently in the trenches of newborn plus threenager, DH works away, so was hoping for something home based.
Although I will now look into home wine tasting, thank you!

Pleased people have said good things about the Joe and Seph popcorn - I have 2 of the large and 2 of the smaller bundles being delivered on Monday and looking forward to receiving them now rather than regretting spending £50 on a whim 😂

SBW15 also takes 15% off, but with a £30 minimum spend

Thank you for this. Id spent ages trying to find things to get my order up to £50!

Could you do a photo with something to scale it? I'm so tempted but not quite gone for it

Tried posting a picture and it's not uploading, but to give you an idea, the weight on the back is 855g so it's a lot of chocolate!

nickdrakeslovechild · 06/12/2025 19:05

After the failure of the American candy store, has anyone used a good value American sweets place recently? I'm particularly looking for unusual Dr Pepper items.

Anyone seen any barganious stocking fillers. Just wrapped majority of Ds7 presents and the actual stocking isn't actually that full. He's got a toothbrush Nd toothpaste to come but could do with 4/5 small inexpensive things to bulk it out. Any ideas? Ta

Pringles/ Crisps/ Popcorn/ marshmallows/ chunky socks/ Stationary/ Can or small bottle of pop (as in a treat that’s not usually allowed) / squishmallow/ cuddly heatable teddy/ cheap fidget toys.

I've bought Sol de Janeiro for my DS's GF 18. He told me he's looked it up and it's for younger teens. I'm not buying anything else at this stage.

To contradict that my DH took a Sol de Janeiro gift set in for his team's white elephant (after my original idea didn't arrive in time, thanks Papier). It was the most popular gift amongst the young female team and the final recipient was very grateful.

So who knows.

My daughter uses Sol de Janeiro at 24 year old, I'm sure she will love it

Any ideas for partners of our dc please? (19 and 20) Small bits for a stockings ideally. I already have those mini Lego sets, and their favorite sweets and drinks.

One of my foodbank colleagues has made some very sweet postcard size lino prints of food items - Heinz beans, sardines, various biscuits and Brussels sprouts. She is selling them for the Trussell Trust for £2 each - if you think they'd like them I can send you some photos.

Ooh paging the baked bean spouse! Is it too late to sneak into one of the advent calendar slots?

I have a difficult one, ridiculous long shot but I’ve seen miracles happen on here so here goes…

my son has got his heart set on this Anime Duo Lingo Plushie

I thought £32 was steep so had hesitated but then psychologically caved and popped it in my basket.

I’ve just gone to check out only to find that they ship from USA the cheapest shipping is £67 making total £94. Bonkers…

Is there any chance anyone went to USA and bought one they’d like to sell on 🤦‍♀️

or is anyone flying in from USA who’d bring it in for me if I order it to their address. I can get free shipping using ups ground in 2 business days.
I put in California address for brother in law to test timings. Really bad luck this is the one year he’s not coming over for Christmas.

if you’re still reading, thank you so much!! 🤦‍♀️

There is an anime shop in York.
Perhaps they can help if you ring them?
Good luck!

nicky2512 · 06/12/2025 19:35

@BeaLola and @Oneborneverydecade my dd is 23 and loves Sol de janeiro. I got her lots when it was on offer in Boots.

Are you near a Poundland type shop ? I’ve raided it for bits that are cheap but big - so a Slinky, new felt pens and a Christmas colouring / sticker book, a small Lego type set and some cars

My Fahlo was ordered on 25 November but not appeared. Royal Mail just says they are waiting for it but its not changed in a week 🙈

Sideorderofchips · 06/12/2025 20:25

The works has some nice stocking fillers bits. Got baby chips and rubix cube type and a wordsearch book but they have all sorts

Flubadubba · 06/12/2025 20:29

Some decent small bits in Primark for stocking fillers too.

@Londonmummy66 i have your message but can’t see how to reply - it was the earrings raising funds for the Trussell Trust I was interested in that your daughter has made

@Whyisitsodifficult do you live near an outlet? Cheshire oaks had some great timberland sales on yesterday

Unfortunately not!

HELP- I have put off buying my sons big Christmas gift - a pair of climbing shoes from sportsshoes.com in the hope I could find a code or they would go lower for Black Friday. I haven’t and they didn’t! Does anyone have a code (maybe a student one) they could pm me? Climbing gear is VERY pricey!

Mokeytree · 06/12/2025 20:51

I just found this code for Sports shoes on Google and checked it and it works for a 15% discount.
activeinclusion15
Has he tried them on already?

Houseofsardines · 06/12/2025 20:54

@AlfiesMum42 suggest a yoyo, pop tarts (Asda/tesco £3) scented pencils (smiggle/amazon £2) , taba squishy (£2 Tesco/entertainer). I found a paint it yourself Christmas egg cup
for £2 in the works but think they don’t sell them online. I often put in Pringles or bath bubbles as they take up loads of space!

MamaK19 · 06/12/2025 20:58

@Houseofsardines happy to pm you a student code but looks like it’s only 12% so might be better off using the code @Mokeytree has posted as that’s 15% off
