Thread 14 - the one where I'm still not sure what a cheese spoiler is

Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

I ordered on 23rd and have just had a shipping email. This may be because after several attempts to get customer service to reply with anything more than a generic email I said that I would need to cancel my order if it wasn’t sent within 48 hours. But actually I think that is crediting their customer service with more sentience than they deserve, and it is just a coincidence!

Good luck. I got sent the tracking/dispatch email on Wednesday but nothing has happened since. It's Royal Mail and has not changed from waiting for item from sender (or whatever the wording is) so I don't think mine is any further along in a actually being sent out.

Apologies as not offering a bargain but I’ve seen heated gilets mentioned on here a few times. The prices vary wildly- can anyone recommend one for my 87 year old mum?

I bought this one and love it.

I'm miffed with Fahlo. I ordered on the 21st for the offer, then got another on the 25th at a discount price. Then 1 more for shipping on the 1st Dec. I received the 1 I order on the 1st Dec Friday!
Ive emailed sp many times about the others and RM still hasnt received them. Theyre for gifts that I need to wrap and post so not happy. I'll be leaving an honest review once they come, as rhe ridiculous email responses are very annoying and give no information.

Its a great idea in theory but if they can't even ship orders there is no point.

Do you have any fancy spas locally? Mine did a mother to be massage that was just amazing!

Agree with this, I got one as a birthday gift when I was pregnant and I loved it!

For anyone looking for an activity to keep kids (6+) entertained, I highly recommend the excavation kits. I’ve bought a pirate one, dinosaur one and volcano and they’ve all provided hours of fun with minimal mess.
The volcano one was the best we did as you add a water mix to the top and it foams like a volcanic eruption. The exact one I got isn’t available anymore but there are lots of similar ones. I’m going to try the National Geographic gemstone one next which is £14.99.

Just had an email saying Chuckling Cheese advent calendars are 50% off now (limited stock).

Eesha · 07/12/2025 10:22

My kids seem to want peachbbies slime, has anyone seen any offers?

Ohladear · 07/12/2025 10:26

The rabbit mama mini surprise is £10.99. Not quite as cheap as the £9.99 that it went to just after last Christmas but the cheapest I’ve seen in a long time.

I had also ordered the glossyboxes, 5 for £20. Was happy with what I got for the money though I did open them to mix up and then gift the items. The products came just inside the cardboard sleeve so maybe a little sparse if being gifted as it is but all in all a good buy. No sign of my popcorn tho J&S always take a long time to get to me in NI. Looking for a bargainous Exploding kittens board game please if anyone can help out or even an Argos code maybe?

I need to find a gift for the couple who have everything. Early 60s, like naice food and wine, travel and generally expensive things. I thought about an Alessi bottle opener but they probably have one already.
Budget around £50.
Previous years I've given them a fancy LBV port, Neom room spray, English Sparkling.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions, particularly bargainous ones

I have just bought my DF a bonsai tree from Yorkshire bonsai’s. I was so stuck as to what to buy him as he tends to buy himself whatever he wants/needs. That age group is so tricky. Luckily my DM and step DF just wanted food gifts.

tabbycat985 · 07/12/2025 10:58

After glossing over the diffuser talk a few threads ago, I have been given a secret Santa who will really appreciate one but the budget won’t stretch to a Neom branded one, is there really much difference between an Amazon branded diffuser if I buy some high quality oils to go with it?

VelvetThunder · 07/12/2025 10:58

Have seen that hmv are selling the kpop demon hunters soundtrack cd with a card and poster for £13.99
Good deal if you're wanting all those items as the cd alone is that price and then the posters are around £7.

I missed the popcorn link and now can't find it! This would be ideal for my son and daughter in law for their movie nights. Can anyone let me know the link? Thanks so much

Does anyone know if the b&m 3 toys for £20 is this weekend only or if its ongoing please? Had a look on the app but cant find an end date.

narniabusiness · 07/12/2025 11:44

@HeadOfGregor for your couple in their 60s I would stick with something consumable- that expensive olive oil you wouldn’t buy yourself, F&Mason coffee or tea in a caddy. Etc or (breaking my rule here) Emma Bridgwater mugs are great- the ones with printed designs like the flower series or birds. 15% off if you buy 2

I'm after cluedo junior if anyone sees it on offer pls, it seems the only game that isn't at the moment.

Or any recommendations for kids aged 6 and 8 pls. We have played junior monopoly this weekend as were all stuck in sick, and it feels we're moving into the next stage of board games, albeit still happy to play crocodile dentist with little sis 😀

Have you got Ticket to Ride? We got given the ghost train version about 2 years ago and it’s a family favourite. Our kids are now 8.5 and 5.5 and the 5.5 year old can play by himself when he’s not too tired to focus.

I’m quite put off by EB mugs as we’ve had numerous where the handle drops off. It’s not something I would expect from an expensive mug.

This is the company that was suggested on previous threads.

I got my aunt in a similar situation a hamper from Betty's tearoom, I went for the classic one for £50 - Betty's hamper - there's about £5 postage on top

Can anyone please help me out with a present for 2 girls aged 4 and 6. I was thinking a joint present they could play with together would be nice and I had ordered the play doh cake play set whilst it was half price but unfortunately wasn't able to collect it on time. I'm open to separate presents but only have a shared budget of £15-20 so trying to find something that looks substantial.

They have a lot of playdoh in Lidl. Or maybe some polly pockets? Always go down a storm.

Thanks for this. I forgot to mention that I won't get time before Christmas to go real life shopping again but I do have a Lidl nearby 🙂

Thanks to who linked to that whisky cake, would be a great present for my very hard to buy for FIL!

Dont suppose there’s any bargainous ways to get a Velvetiser this year? 😵‍💫
