Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

MooseyMoo · 07/12/2025 07:36

Pintail candles are half price, today only, with ‘Birthday’.

TheBigFish · 07/12/2025 07:42

@Chocolateteabag I ordered the fishing guide from Fishing with Carl from a recommendation on an earlier thread (so sorry, can't find that now so not sure if it was you who recommended it?).

Anyway, I ordered as soon as he restocked on 01 December, it arrived promptly and looks great. So thank you for the original recommendation.

Bananafingers has a 'shoeculator' which compares across climbing brands and street shoes incase it's helpful. Sorry to go on but like you say they really aren't cheap.

I wish I had known this before ordering Bluntstones (£££) in DS's normal size & they're too big. Have high hopes for the Solovairs that arrived yesterday. However, this tool looks invaluable for DS1 who's a half size & has wide feet & DS2 who has very big but skinny feet 🙈

They're a total PITA! I order a size 6 from everywhere & they always fit. Like I always say, my shoes are always going to fit, unlike my clothes! 🤣

But thanks for that tool, I'll use it loads from now on.

I'm after cluedo junior if anyone sees it on offer pls, it seems the only game that isn't at the moment.

Or any recommendations for kids aged 6 and 8 pls. We have played junior monopoly this weekend as were all stuck in sick, and it feels we're moving into the next stage of board games, albeit still happy to play crocodile dentist with little sis 😀

My fahlo bracelets were ordered on 25th, had a generic email when I chased it up, and still not been despatched.
not very impressed at the moment.

I ordered on 23rd and have just had a shipping email. This may be because after several attempts to get customer service to reply with anything more than a generic email I said that I would need to cancel my order if it wasn’t sent within 48 hours. But actually I think that is crediting their customer service with more sentience than they deserve, and it is just a coincidence!

Alicorn1707 · 07/12/2025 08:53

@MaybeItsTimeForMeNow there's a Ghostbuster Cluedo for £7.99, if that would be acceptable

I need to find a gift for the couple who have everything. Early 60s, like naice food and wine, travel and generally expensive things. I thought about an Alessi bottle opener but they probably have one already.
Budget around £50.
Previous years I've given them a fancy LBV port, Neom room spray, English Sparkling.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions, particularly bargainous ones

So hard we’re around that age and even I don’t know what I want! I hate it when the kids spend too much money, I know they’ve got other stuff to pay at their age. Sorry that’s no help! Do they like gardening ?t Do you know where rhey a travelling to next?( maybe a book or travel guide about that?)

Hi I’m 33 and just had a baby :) and I would love h and m vouchers as post partum, they do the best breastfeeding clothes around at the moment, even if not breastfeeding she will most certainly find something for herself as her body changes after baby

Is there anything in Anthropologie that would be suitable? You could use the £20 Anthroperks voucher to bring the price down..

HeadOfGregor · 07/12/2025 09:12

Sorry, this was in reply to Tarteaucitronmerinquee

They're absolutely lovely people (family friends) and would genuinely be happy with a box of chocs but I'd like to get them something they enjoy.
The woman likes cooking and gardening but not her husband.
They're my trickiest people to buy for

@Tarteaucitronmerinquee I would second this. Some kind of clothing voucher. There are so many stages of needing different types or sizes of clothes!

Gah! I would be cheeky and set up an account for DH (and then end up spending extra that I wouldn't have spent anyway)🤣 They have some lovely things!

Afternoon tea? Also I really love an expensive mug to drink my tea/ coffee in, but that’s just me! I love nice tea towels too but understand that’s a bit of a weird present.

hby9628 · 07/12/2025 09:23

My popcorn has arrived & it’s really good value. Question though….i was hoping to gift it in the tin provided but you can’t fit it all in there. How are people going to gift theirs? Separate them out, all together in a gift bag? I was hoping to give it all to one recipient but now I’m not sure

Ours was the one without a tin. I was planning to sort into stocking, but...er...we may have eaten a lot of it already

hby9628 · 07/12/2025 09:41

I got the £10 bundle so didn’t get the slab. We did get plenty though!
We have also cracked open the cookie & cream flavour. It’s very nice.

yes we’ve decided to split it up. Birthday one for by bro next week, one each for the ladies who look after the dog as part of their gift (Prosecco & Baileys) I expect the others will be gifts for us

I think next time I will get the bigger bundle
