Non-Beauty Advent Calendar Opening Thread

Not sure if there's already a thread somewhere and I am just blind but for the first time ever, I have a slightly posh calendar.

Now, will admit it's just the Twinings Tea one (which I may have won as part off the November Postcode Lottery) but I'm really excited and wondered if those of us with non-beauty calendars might like to share our bounty?

I will continue to lurk on the other threads as they are strangely compelling to me but would also love some company as I drink my way through the 24 days of Advent!

Sure! I've got the Bonne Maman jam one. Excited! Got some nice bread in especially 😅

I like to open mine in the morning before work. My mum got me a licorice calendar for my birthday and I've also got a spinners calendar that is made up in a swap aty local guild of spinners, Weavers and dyers. Today I've got a lovely blue blend to spin into yarn and classic caramel licorice.

Lovely idea! I have a matcha calendar and a tea calendar, both from bird & blend - I couldn’t choose which one to get 🫣 I bought the Bonne Maman one for DH so I’m hoping he’s going to share!

Ooh - lovely! It's amazing the variety of calendars you can get and a licorice one sounds right up my street... although, very much also have a soft spot for jam!

I've got a Glow Tea - Strawberry and Cucumber! Not too sure on that, to be honest, but definitely not something I'd usually try so will tuck in later this afternoon!

I have the St Eval tea light calendar. The first one smells gorgeous. I will light it tonight after dinner.

I have a picture one and today's picture is the swag that was plain now has a couple of baubles.

@Hemskis DH always buys me the Lakrids calendar, they’re delicious!

I bought DH the Taskmaster calendar and will share my liquorice with him.

So I tried my tea and it was actually really delicious.. a complete surprise! Even had a good aftertaste so maybe i should invest in some for my skin (this is how they suck you in, isn't it 😁!)

Had my Malteaser with it - today was a Xmas Pudding 😋

Ooh can I join in? I've got a weird one this year - it's the End Of The World Reading Club advent calendar. (Basically dystopian book club - my favourite genre.) So it started off today with The Day of the Triffids! (I havent read it yet so I'm delighted with it!)

This is a brilliant book, I really enjoyed it.

What a fabulous idea... Big reader here and i had no idea you could get book advent calendars! And not to derail, but The Midwich Cuckoo's by John Wyndham is a cracking read!!

From your books, to the yarn and licorice, not to mention the wine... I can see this rapidly becoming much more of a thing in my life from this year onwards!

Sauvignon Blanc this morning. I'll pop that in the fridge for the weekend.

I got Unwind Tea today, Strawberry and Camomile (going in strong on the strawberry so far!).

I sadly have a funeral to attend today so this will be perfect for afterwards.

Pukka tea calendar here. Yesterday's morning berry was more like evening berry but it was goood!

Just found this thread, so many lovely calendars! We have a family advent calendar for the 1st time this year as it's the last year before my DD goes to uni. I saw the Degusta offer and went for that - its huge but have found a space out the way for it.

Hello 👋. Wow, Tealfish, that's great for a shared calendar. I've got myself an English TeaShop one. Just about to have today's Turmeric, ginger and lemongrass. I love the variety of little different coloured bits in the bag!

SanFranBear (love your name!) that tea does sound perfect to comfort you after the funeral later.

Unfortunately today is the day my 3 year old spotted the calendar and asked to share... chocolate hazelnut spread today! 😅
