Just seen Hans Grubers little shocked face go off the side of the Nakatomi Plaza.........it is now Officially Christmas according to DD.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/11/2025 21:46

Enjoy CCGW Glenn and Magnolia

We saw the PeterPanGoesWrong one year which was very funny .

And one -cannot remember the name but something to do with music- one of the crew fell and ended up being carted off in an ambulance .... the audience thought it was part of the act until they closed it down and shoo'd us out Shock Blush

Glennponder · 26/11/2025 22:30

We saw PPGW a couple of years ago @70isaLimitNotaTarget...such a great show 🤣
I might give the comedy show tickets to dd1 as its on the evening of her postgrad graduation and her bf will be here...😊

Magnoliasunrise · 27/11/2025 06:41

28.......... 4 weeks today YEY!!!

We also saw PPGW, the DC were quite young but they absolutely LOVED it. Before the show started the actor playing the dog came into the audience and was chatting to my DS which was so brilliant.

Day Off today so going to try and get a chunk of presents done but also need to clean house.

Glennponder · 27/11/2025 07:20

Oh, man..
My shoulder is feeling a bit better and now I think I have sciatica ☹️
Ouch

NoWordForFluffy · 27/11/2025 08:36

Morning!

I'm just loitering in the house, waiting to go to London. Not enough time to do some work before I go (plus my laptop is packed), so it's just a waiting game!

I organised a Sainsbury's delivery for 8-9, and he's been and gone, and the stuff is put away.

Oh my goodness you've all got lovely christmas activities plans, busy busy!

As a family we only have the cinema on christmas eve and a SEN christmas breakfast at a soft play centre. Oh and party at local SEN centre which to be honest incant see DS lasting long at but we will give it a try! Christmas fair we cancelled last week as DS really didnt want to go and I had a Santa visit and light trail planned for this weekend but again DS said too busy so not going. He wants to watch christmas films at home instead "with a feast of cheese rolls, sausage rolls and biscuits!" 😂
Me and DH are out for a meal in a couple of weeks for his birthday and the Saturday before Xmas ive booked his favourite Xmas film at the cinema which will be nice with a glass of fizz! Boxing day we may go to the indoor funfair again, did this last year and it was good as wasn't too busy.

I've got to pick up a c&c order today. Just looked at my Asda rewards and they've added £5 to my saver so i've got £90 to spend which will be nice! Although since they got rid of the blue light and now seem to hardly ever have any incentives, Ican't see me having anywhere near that amount for next Xmas!

Oh i've not heard of Rudolph day! I shall start doing this in January, this can be my new year's resolution! 🙈 what do you all do for it in the earlier months of the year?

Sorry to hear about your sciatica @Glennponder , completely sympathise, its a horror!

How organised are you with the early shop?! Love this!! I love getting loads done early on in the morning, lifts my mood for the rest of the day. Mind you, currently eating porridge browsing Mumsnet, I should really get off my backside and get moving as you've reminded me I need to go food shopping today (not tomorrow like I usually do!)

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 27/11/2025 09:30

I checked our plans and I think we did ok.
Last weekend we went to the big Christmas factory shop.

Coming up we have:
Christmas market & muppets Christmas Carol with a live orchestra
Rotary Santa Sleigh coming by the house
MIL visit
Works do
LOs first Christmas show 🥺
Theatre
Early family Christmas at my dm's
2 meals/drinks catch ups with friends.

IloveCats I try and use Rudolph days to get some Christmas craft things done as I'm quite slow.
Pre LO id start cross stitch cards in the summer and they'd be done by October (since LO I'm taking it to the wire and getting them done just in time to hand them out).

I have a day off today so am watching a CCF (Christmas Inheritance) while updating the Christmas planner and making a list of anything left to do/pick up and crossing my fingers that my c&c toy order comes in before I leave for an hour in town Xmas Smile

FurForksSake · 27/11/2025 10:54

I had hip surgery 13 days ago and I’m going to be on crutches for the whole season. We’ve got Panto tickets and a light trail, and I’m not sure I can manage the light trail! We always get a fresh tree from the Christmas tree farm and that won’t be safe for me.

I want to weep at how little I can do, it’ll all be worth it and I’ll be more mobile in the new year, but I love Christmas and all the bits and bobs and I just can’t do it.

im going to make a list of all the wonderful things you guys are doing and steal some for next year.

I do have two musical sons so there will be choir events and those I’m hoping I can make.

Glennponder · 27/11/2025 10:58

Hope your recovery goes smoothly @FurForksSake
I've got a very sore back/hip today and am feeling very mardy about it 😕

FurForksSake · 27/11/2025 11:15

Ah @Glennponder massive sympathy.

my recovery was going really well and then I did too much and now I’m cross and sore and not sleeping. Grr and rah.

I’ll get there, I’m listening to the calm Christmas podcast and thinking about how I want to keep Christmas.

Glennponder · 27/11/2025 11:20

Thank you...
Pain killers, ice, heat, stretches...nothing is helping 😩

Glennponder · 27/11/2025 11:21

Oh! I forgot that podcast...I'll listen later 🎄😊

Will I be barred from this thread if I admit I have never seen Die Hard?? DH and I are planning to watch it this year. He wanted to watch it in the summer but I insisted we wait in case it is a Christmas film! I have enjoyed the frosty mornings this week, so was disappointed when the temperature rose today. I haven’t made it onto the thread much because work is a bit busy! Looking forward to getting the Christmas mugs out on Sunday!
hello to everyone!

I have a hangover. Send help! 🤣

Magnoliasunrise · 28/11/2025 07:07

Me too @NoWordForFluffy !!! First christmas party last night and I really got into the festive spirit 😩Just had some rehydration tablets.

I'm sending virtual hugs.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 28/11/2025 08:40

Morning. Sending hangover thoughts to you both Fluffy & Magnolia 🙏
Paracetamol, squash, sausage sandwich and a nap are hangover cures of choice here if that helps!

I am a bit stressed this morning. Have come in after having yesterday off to find my previous manager has missed something pretty important and tried to fudge the blame on to me 🤬
Lots of people are watching/monitoring and I need to both fix it and make it clear it wasn’t my mistake in the first place. Sigh.

Constantly me and Fluffy have been disagreeing about Die Hard for years because it’s not a Christmas film and she hasn’t kicked me off the thread yet Xmas Grin

ConstantlyCooking · 28/11/2025 09:17

I hope you feel better soon Fluffy! I need to get rid off DH for a few days/evenings to enjoy some CCFs. He will watch Love Actually, (and Die Hard this year) but now DD has moved out , I am the only person interested in gingerbread competitions in snowy villages with incognito royalty!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/11/2025 09:56

Hips , Hangovers and Sciatica. Ouch! I remind myself every year that I had a tiny demanding newborn for Christmas 1999/going into the millennium. That was a tough but memorable Christmas 😄. I resisted a Pret Festive Coffee in favour of a standard one . Last week I had a Toffee Nut Latte so I've done my bit

NoWordForFluffy · 28/11/2025 10:03

We were talking abouf CCFs and Die Hard, as it's a Christmas film Xmas Grin over dinner last night.

I've had toast, mini croissants and a chocolate chip muffin for breakfast. As well as paracetamol, and I also had a little nap between about 8-9! I'm starting to feel a bit more human. Gentle 👊 to Magnolia with her hangover!

26 Xmas Shock

Starting today with a bang as LO woke at 5:30 and decided he didn’t want to get out of bed so sat up and screamed Daddy over and over as loud as he possibly could. Gave me a bloody heart attack!

today is my first proper planned Christmassy day as we’re going to a Christmas market then watching Muppets Christmas Carol with a live orchestra.

Hope you’ve both fully recovered today Fluffy & Magnolia

Magnoliasunrise · 29/11/2025 07:48

Ooooh noooooo Meeces, theres not a lot worse then being woken by screaming. You might laugh about it later.

Im fully recovered thank you although still knackered as didn't sleep well last night, I think its that time of year so much going on its a bit stressful and definitely affects my sleep.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 29/11/2025 08:42

I am putting the Christmas tree up with my daughter today. She always comes over if she isn’t working. It is very exciting as next year we will have a granddaughter to start more Christmas traditions.
