Shes lucky to get an ARFID diagnosis! Don't take that the wrong way, I'm in Liverpool and they don't diagnose here. Same with sensory processing difficulties, son is SPD and again not much understanding from people around that either. "Oh its only a spot of water on his hand, whys he crying" yes but he feels that as burning hot lava that affects his entire body and can not tolerate it and hasnt got the understanding either!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I’m kent. But we took ds to Birmingham for his. Though now London can. Getting the referral was hard enough. I think we was only so lucky with ds as we had a feeding tube and was classed as malnourished.

Yes I get what you mean. Ds has a PDA profile. I find myself explaining it even to his consultants. He’s just started a special school and to be honest it was so refreshing not having to explain what that is

We didn't bother to get DS assessed as it's Alder Hey who'd do it, so it just wouldn't have happened.

I heard Wham "Last Christmas " in a shop today and The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"

I'm ignoring the fact it is still November Xmas Grin . I'm still in Whamageddon as it hasn't actually started yet .

Quality Street has a Mystery Flavour ...... (there's Pick'n'Mix in John Lewis ) wrapping is a light green ( which could just be a clever but cruel marketing ploy ) but I;m calling: (and I have no insider knowledge as I didn;t buy any )
Dubai Chocolate
Matcha
Mint

Better not be Lime

Glennponder · 23/11/2025 22:13

I bet its pistachio

Lovely trees @NoWordForFluffy - try Spitalfields market if you're staying near Tower Bridge. Lots of lovely independent stalls there although I haven't been for years.

Sorry to hear the struggles some are having with SEN processing - I work with SEN kids and the best advocate is nearly always the parent so I would just keep pushing.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/11/2025 07:23

Morning!

I'm tired today as I had a shocking night's sleep. Not helped by the bloody dog barking at the geese in the field opposite (they were making a weird noise, it has to be said!).

Thank you for the Spitalfields recommendation. I'll head there if I get up early enough, so I can go before check out at 11.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/11/2025 17:23

And Happy Rudolph Day!!!! The last one of the year, yikes!!

I was planning to start putting the decorations up on Friday (day off) as we are collecting the tree Saturday and I normally leave it stood for 24 hours before we decorate the following day but DS just threw a spanner in the works by asking to have a party on Friday night. "Just 20" of his friends 🙄They'll be in the basement and will hopefully be well behaved but I think I'll leave the stair garlands and hall stuff for Saturday so not to tempt fate.

I can remember being 16 and having sneaky beers and the temptation of running down the street with a light up reindeer might be too much.

Glennponder · 25/11/2025 12:12

Appointments galore here...
Dermatologist yesterday, hairdresser and physio today...
Oh, and dd2s PC seems to have broken 😢
But its bright and sunny outside, if a bit chilly 🥶

FurForksSake · 25/11/2025 12:50

I have put in to soak the dress I got from vinted to wear over Christmas. It’s lovely but it stinks and is dry clean only. It was £4 for a Boden dress and if I can wash it and it fits it will be a dress I wear over and over.

Glennponder · 25/11/2025 15:44

I have a dinner dance on saturday 😬
Don't know what to wear...gig to be black and white

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/11/2025 18:30

Our decorations will need to wait a bit , we usually do them after DS birthday anyway , but some things go out on Dec 1st .
Usually 1-14 days before Christmas and it's a Oh I forgot we had that or Why the devil did I keep this ? Xmas Grin

Anyway , the Last Rudolph Day and 30 days .
I have washed the Christmas pyjamas .and hand towels .
DH can get the tablecover out of the attic for Monday

I have Christmas straws and Snowman loo roll , nice handsoap for the downstairs loo .Tablecover is an oilcloth , festive but not too much .

(I'm going to look at Black Friday Bargains and see what's out there ...)

I bought a John Lewis dress off eBay Fur , it is washable so I'm pleased with it .

Glenn have a look on eBay or similar , I got some evening wear for cruise holidays , one a pre-loved Monsoon dress ( washable) some BNWT sequinned M&S (top/skirt./shirt ) and a preloved gold/black Indigo Moon jacket . Dry Clean but I hang it outside and give it a spray .
Got some great things with a bit of searching Xmas Grin

Morning.

Cold and frosty here again today. The dog had a great time sniffing the frozen grass!

I didn't really do anything for Rudolph Day, other than carried on with my cross stitch cards. I changed to smaller ones to get the ones I need to post done. They're quite speedy except when you go wrong.

Ordered the Christmas meat from the butcher yesterday as my Rudolph day task and that’s me basically done.
I’ll write and post the Aussie and USA relatives cards this weekend as I’m assuming last posting dates will be early December. Must go and check…

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 26/11/2025 08:31

Morning. It is freezing here so me and LO spent a bit of time in the garden before he left for school today having a look at the frozen plants/windows/bird feeder etc. He’s learning about Jack Frost (or Sion y rhew in Welsh as he taught me and which I pronounced very badly) 🥶

I have a day off tomorrow that I’m going to spend picking up a c&c order, dropping off my local santa scheme presents (for kids in care), getting photos printed in Asda for frames that in bought for people and mooching around town before coming home, writing some cards, getting ahead by wrapping some presents for upcoming birthday parties etc and watching a Christmas film.

After having a mild panic about spending too much and not being ready, I used some of my day off on Monday getting all the presents in one place and doing a proper, written audit. Aside from photos and 2 deliveries, I’m done for everyone except MIL and DH Xmas Smile

Sorry to quote myself. but I have just been scouting around for international last posting dates for cards and cannot find anything definitive! I'm sure the Royal Mail used to publish a simple list with dates for the major countries, but currently all I can find is:

"Christmas posting using international services
As we approach the busiest time of year, international delivery services experience much higher volumes of parcels and letters. To help ensure your items arrive in time for Christmas, we strongly recommend posting as early as possible."

Is it me?!
