This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Ignore me, turns out I was being a bit too careful. Said to my dh I couldn't get it any higher and he basically yanked it up (It was loosened all the way) and after a moment it gave and moved higher! So now is just tall enough for my large candle.

Excellent news 😊 I love the lamps, I've purchased a few as gifts now, such a bargain and all thanks to these threads.

Any suggestions for decent but not fancy colouring pencils for an adult? I have brought my mum an adults colouring book as she showed an interest and retired this year so has more time. Need to get some colours to go with it- don’t want to spend loads as she might not take to it but equally she needs a decent set not a kids one.

The works have some sets in their art supplies section that aren't too pricey in case it doesn't take off. I always buy sketch books there as gifts too. Very reasonable.

Everybody’s favourite Rapesco heavy duty tape dispenser is on Amazon for the bargain price of £2.92 tonight.

I've had one sat in my basket but your post promoted me to give it an order 😀

Flubadubba · 02/10/2025 22:37

Character.com have just made further reductions on their sale stock. Got DD(6) a few pairs of new PJs, a tshirt and a sweater and a hoodie for under £25 (including the £4.95 postage). Pre-sale it would have been almost £60.

If they go down in price again, I'll be buying a few for gifts. Now to pack mine away as its a present for dh to give me at Xmas 🤣

Any k pop demon bargains known?

Ive bought a few things from tiktok shop too and have been pleased with them considering theyre not official and were relatively cheap. Ordered a Mira costume, Huntrix lunchbox and set of figures. I cant work out how to search on the website another poster shared as it keeps taking me to the app! These on amazon look to be the same and similar price considering p&p. They do bigger sets with more figures now too. They're fairly basic but my 7 year old was happy with them and I cant find official toys in shops yet

Just pop Rapesco heavy duty tape dispenser in the Amazon search bar and a few will come up. Look for the one which is £2.92.

Thank you

We've found the Works art supplies are very good quality as well. My favourite pencils are Derwent they sometimes have offers on their website so worth a look.

Ulster Weavers has a lovely range of tea towels on 4 for £20 with code 4TTFOR20
Not a terribly exciting gift but they have some nice patterns if you’re dull like me and like that sort of thing!

JellyRains · 03/10/2025 07:36

I just bought 2 of the candle warmer things, for £25 so I thought that's not bad (12.50 each).

Thanks for all the advice on here.

Another Q from me, my daughter just turned 3. She loves playing babies with her dolls, and changing their nappies, but she always wants baby wipes. Is there such thing as toy baby wipes? Or a workaround? She would go through a pack otherwise, and of course...they're wet so everything gets damp! Am I missing something? Thanks!

dc82 · 03/10/2025 07:54

Did anyone else get an email from Amazon this morning about the cheap fleecey jumpers? Saying that the seller hasn’t confirmed the order….

IlovePond · 03/10/2025 07:55

@MaybeItsTimeForMeNow - you could get one of those muslin cleansing cloths, (or similar), and cut them into little squares for her to use as pretend wipes.

paintyhands · 03/10/2025 07:56

Thank you for all the ideas so far this year, particularly to the person who flagged up the quirky TK Maxx jewellery (can’t remember the brand) - I ordered a festive necklace, but for myself which kind of defeats the point 🤦‍♀️ I have just received a mystery box from Olor candles which is amazing value and they are lovely. £40 for over £150 worth of candles and wax melts. I have just checked and unfortunately the mystery boxes are finished but if they do these again I would highly recommend! I will be gifting most of these.

Yes, I have that email too. Seems unlikely we'll be getting the jumpers!

How about reusable ones? Or a damp flannel or cotton wool

When mine were little I got a pack with the hard plastic opening and left them open on a radiator to dry out completely, can 'use' them and stuff them back in.. our pack lasted three children and their dolls worth though a little fiddley

Morning! I’d like to get some bargainous raffle prizes for a school charity event. I like the idea of Christmas advent calendars, or candles. Any suggestions in where I can get the most prizes?!
