This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Is Amazons pricing just random now? The price at checkout bears little relation to the price on the product, even when there are no vouchers and offers listed. And the prices for the same product are different for different people or on different links.

I’m thinking about for the candle lamps in particular, but have noticed it on a lot of things.

I’m not exactly complaining, because (I think) it’s always less than the advertised price, but it would be helpful to know before the checkout stage.

@Missscentsation - what’s your budget per prize?

You could stock up on the Boots 3-4-2 Xmas gifts, (some of which could be further broken down). Or you could get some of the Xmas gift sets from places like Home Bargains.

TKMAXX is usually a good place to get candles and Xmas themed diffusers.

If you’re looking for advent calendars - the one of cheapest beauty ones is Soap and Glory from Boots. Code: ADVENT10 brings it down to £43.20.

Boots also have chocolate a/cs from £10.

I'm not at home at the moment so can't post examples of colour leak but some are quality paper where there is no bleed through & each "picture" is on its own whereas others have "pictures" both sides - will try and post later

I buy majority of books from Amazon and always when on offer - I do tend to prefer the mandalas as I like the fine detail and the range of patterns you can have

Did anyone else get an email from Amazon this morning about the cheap fleecey jumpers? Saying that the seller hasn’t confirmed the order….

Yes I did as well, but they were so cheap I'm happy to just sit tight and wait to see if they turn up.

Nice little colouring book for £1 on Amazon for kids, always good for stocking fillers and also to keep a stash for inevitable kids parties that come around:

Thanks, I’ll definitely try Boots, and on Tuesday to see if I can bag a £10 bargain as well! My daughter had a Revolution / Willy winks theme advent calendar one year, I’d love to get something like that! I’ll check TKs out too, guaranteed I’ll be gifting myself a candle too! 🤭

Yes, I have that email too. Seems unlikely we'll be getting the jumpers!

Me too. I ordered some of the ladies jumpers too, but not heard anything about them.

pippapumpkin · 03/10/2025 09:45

Every January I order a photo book of my child’s photos from the year before from an app called Once Upon

They’ve just released a discount for 50% off, maximum discount I’ve ever seen from them is 25%

Code: brandrefresh50
Valid till 5th Oct

They’re beautiful hard cover photo books, I’ve had about 4 of them now. Just gutted I can’t use this because my photo book won’t be ready for print till the year is complete!

I had a lamp in my watch but it wasn't going down below £13. I just saw this one on there and it went through at £10.50 for me.

Just tried to add to basket and it’s £16.99 for me 🫣

It goes up and down all the time. Worth keeping an eye on it for the best price

CarrotVan · 03/10/2025 10:30

My Amazon Haul package is out for delivery so hopefully I can make my autumn door wreath later

zacsGranny · 03/10/2025 10:31

My Haul order should come today too.
And I've had a dispatch email for the ladies Christmas jumpers.

JellyRains · 03/10/2025 10:34

Just got my Haul. Got 5 shopping bags and they're brilliant. Big and strong. Fold down to nothing. Perfect for the car!

IlovePond · 03/10/2025 07:55

@MaybeItsTimeForMeNow - you could get one of those muslin cleansing cloths, (or similar), and cut them into little squares for her to use as pretend wipes.

A few fine muslin squares folded up in a matchbox - you could paint it green and write WIPES on it if you are feeling extra creative.

Same here. Was worth a try!

Any suggestions for decent but not fancy colouring pencils for an adult? I have brought my mum an adults colouring book as she showed an interest and retired this year so has more time. Need to get some colours to go with it- don’t want to spend loads as she might not take to it but equally she needs a decent set not a kids one.

I have sets from Faber Castell, which are really lovely, and the set of 60 can be had for about £15 on Amazon. I also have two lovely sets from Castle Arts, which are excellent, and have a brilliant variety of colours, including some lovely curated sets. They are a bit more pricey.

WhyDoesItAlways · 03/10/2025 11:32

Not a bargain but a possible present idea for kids who like bitzee/tamagotchi type things. Just found something called a nano-mal on amazon. Looks like a little pocket pet but easier to use than a tamagotchi and more portable than a bitzee.

Looked quite cute for £15

I don’t know… a PP noted it changed whether they were logged into their account or not and I’ve noticed the same when I have followed links from here.

I can’t be arsed with Amazon if they are playing stupid games with pricing!

hugsandpugs · 03/10/2025 11:47

20% of all fragrance on Superdrug today!

hugsandpugs · 03/10/2025 11:49

Looks like the 20% off is off items already in the sale too

WannaBeOrganised · 03/10/2025 12:01

Do Smyths ever do general discounts? I'm spending £90 but doesn't look like there is any discounts about (apart from the lego one)
