Last year I brought my son a quilted advent calendar so now I have to fill it…… any ideas are most welcomed? And also where from?

I'm not sure how old your son is but some ideas I've done over the years

  • second hand bundle of little figures of current interests (disney, moshi monsters, shopkins, hatchimals, vintage kinder toys, puppy in my pocket)
  • stationary like the smelly pens etc
  • fidget toys
  • rubber ducks
  • crystals
  • chocolate/sweets
  • build a bear outfits (bundle second hand)
  • experiences of things we would usually do anyway and some extras.

John Lewis are doing the non disc PS5 for £329.99, 2 yr guarantee.
I bought a £250 & an £80 JL gift card through Top Cashback and paid for it -and got £8.25 immediate cashback.
You can only buy one PS5 at that price and I need to buy another so I’m going to get that one from Argos, again buying the gift cards through TCB.

We always did a mix of chocolate coins and mini candy canes and then an occasional bigger gift, kinder egg, small toy.

We do a chocolate coin and a Christmas joke everyday in ours. When they were little I would write a joke on an old Christmas card and cut it to fit the pocket, but one year found a pack of cards with jokes on them.

Then if there is a special day I might put something related eg Christmas dress up day at school, I put in a Christmassy hair clip. Occasionally I put in something like a play mobile Christmas figure (brought a cheap bundle one year on eBay). Sometimes I put in a note telling them we’re doing something special that day eg ice skating or panto, but we don’t do a lot of that

A bit late for this year but friends of mine would keep party bag bits he had finished playing with for their son’s

GameOfJones · 28/09/2025 07:22

We have a quilted advent calendar and try to avoid putting chocolate in it as DDs have plenty of sugar already.

Things that have gone down well are:

Small crystals or fossils
Hot wheels cars
Small squishy toys
Stickers
Temporary tattoos
Hair clips etc
Lego people

This year I'm thinking of getting a Christmas jigsaw and putting a few pieces in a day so they can build it throughout December.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 28/09/2025 07:36

Have I missed a Hotel Chocolat code? Decided to get DS a veletiser advent calendar…
thank you

Some perfumes reduced at The Perfume Shop. Managed to get JPG Le Male Le Parfum for £42.49 with Blue Light Discount, RRP usually around £81.

woodwaj · 28/09/2025 08:24

Spirograph is £5.49 on amazon at the moment

onlyatchristmastime · 28/09/2025 08:41

You can get a free Monopoly Deal with several classic games on Amazon. If you look up Monopoly Deal by itself, there’s a ‘how to claim’ link next to the offer. Add your qualifying item plus Monopoly Deal to your basket and it’ll show as free at checkout.

It says ‘your images are currently under review’ so hopefully it’ll show up eventually.

onlyatchristmastime · 28/09/2025 09:07

Alternatively, here is the link - above ‘add to basket’ (assuming you’re using the Amazon app) it should show the deal and a hyperlink that says ‘how to claim’.

Mygardenandme · 28/09/2025 09:23

It won’t let me take the blue light discount on top of the 20% off. 😞

Bluezoo123 · 28/09/2025 11:02

@WomanOfSteel sorry it didn't help you. I think the perfume I got was just listed as £49.99 - there was no further reduction so I just put in the blue light discount code at checkout. Hopefully it will help someone. Also went through topcashback so should get some cash back too.

You got a great bargain. I might still get one of the gift sets as they seem good value so thanks for the tip off. I’ve tried putting the 10% off my favourite brand for a year too, but that also doesn’t seem to work. I’ll try on my iPad in a bit as incase that works. 🤞🏻

Has anyone had or heard about their order from American Candy Stores yet?
