We picked up one of these mini anglepoise book lights for £1 at Poundland today, and are going back for more tomorrow. They come complete with batteries and are freestanding but also clip onto a book. They give a really bright light too. Brilliant for stocking fillers. They came in black and also white.

Tesco have got some nice Christmas gifts and stocking fillers on their app.

A few Christmassy bits in our local M&S today. Nothing especially bargainous but if you have your heart set on M&S shortbread in a fancy tin, Christmas gingerbread decorating kits etc, there’s a few there already.

No PJs yet though.

Last year I brought my son a quilted advent calendar so now I have to fill it…… any ideas are most welcomed? And also where from?

You dont say how old your son is, but we used to get kinder egg toys for our advent!

@Tiredtom argh looks like they’re up to £32 now. Recommend keeping an eye on Amazon though as the unicorn type ones were £20 for ages so I think the £20 offer comes and goes.

Tesco / The Entertainer have the unicorn ones for £20 if you don’t particularly need to Dragon one.

What's your budget? They vary so much in price.

I put chocolates in ours and a Christmas themed quiz question - my kids are 18 and 20 and still expect me to do it 🤣

I’m not sure. If I can get a discount code 😂 then maybe up to £150 for two calendars.

We have celebrations/roses in ours because that’s what my mum put in it when I was little (I still use the same one). I’m 36 and my husband is 38, no kids yet so they’re for us 🤣

I actually thought it was going to be caution tape but with Elf printed on, a novelty. But what it actually is is really quite useful!!! Thank you for this! Have you ever used ot to hang up Xmas lights in a window? I used light hook things last year, the Command ones, and they were awful.

I do a mix of chocolate coins, celebrations, malteaser/Kit Kat mini reindeers etc and mini Lindt reindeers

I like to mix it up so there’s a bit of variety

The boots skincare calendar is really nice for £70 and there’s lots of brands that age group use.

My son loves the Disney Pixar lamp (asd) so this is excellent as a stocking filler thank you!

Not sure how old he is but im going to buy a pack of pokemon cards from amazon and put one into each pocket for my 7 year old pokemon mad son!

I've actually just found on Boots a little bit cheaper than the Grind website and can also use my student discount as well, and points on my advantage card! So for anyone else that likes the look of the coffee advent, have a look on Boots!

Over the years we've put in:

fancy marbles
Those little squishy toys
Sweets
Stationary
Bubbles
Bath things eg bath bombs / jellies baff

Most years we did a mix of cheaper days (like some stickers or sweets) and more expensive days (like the £1 miniture Wilco lego kits you used to be able to get).

This year it will be nail polish, face masks, lip gloss, sweets etc

@ILoveCatsAndKittens Not sure how old your son is....but have you seen you can get a lego pixar lamp set? Currently £45 from £59 on amazon

He will be 2.5 yrs
