You got a great bargain. I might still get one of the gift sets as they seem good value so thanks for the tip off. I’ve tried putting the 10% off my favourite brand for a year too, but that also doesn’t seem to work. I’ll try on my iPad in a bit as incase that works. 🤞🏻

I may have a UNiDAYS code you can try for 15% off?

Does anyone know if Smiggle advent calendars usually go in the Black Friday sale? DD is desperate for one, but I was hoping they go down in price a lot nearer to December!

SugarCookieMonster · 28/09/2025 12:53

ILoveCatsAndKittens · 27/09/2025 20:27

Thank you for this!
I actually thought it was going to be caution tape but with Elf printed on, a novelty. But what it actually is is really quite useful!!! Thank you for this! Have you ever used ot to hang up Xmas lights in a window? I used light hook things last year, the Command ones, and they were awful.

I haven’t tried it before but I have used some of their other products which have done exactly as promised (the gel mold remover is phenomenal).
I used to use commands everywhere but I’ve noticed in the last year they have become terrible. We’ve had 2 canvas hooks that have fallen and small hooks that ripped off paint in the last year. Fingers crossed for this stuff!

Has anyone had or heard about their order from American Candy Stores yet?

No. Waiting 2 weeks to raise a claim with my bank

Costco members in store bargains:
Lego Bluey House £39.99 (£47.98 with VAT). The cheapest I can see elsewhere is £54 at BargainMax.
V-Tech DJ drums £34.99 (£41.98 with VAT). Very have it for £45 but Amazon is charging £53.

For any Harry Potter fans, they also have a giant box shaped like a ticket for the Hogwarts Express with chocolate biscuit packs inside. It was £10.99 (£13.98 with VAT).

Planning ahead: over the weekend of 4 - 5 October the Superseconds Festival takes place.

It's where 250+ independent makers sell seconds, one-offs and end of line items, many at a substantial discount. I have bought things over several years and found some great bargains.

The point in mentioning it now if that if you sign up to the mailing lists for any sellers you like the look of, then some offer an early start to their sale and/or a code for a discount.

Here's a list of the makers who will be taking part. There are plenty of ideas for Christmas gifts there.

Love this idea, thanks for sharing! I've signed up

Can anyone recommend a good beauty advent calendar for my Dds 19 & 17. Thanks

I used to buy birch boxes and put the contents in a reusable calendar for my teens, now I buy a fancier beauty advent calendar and share it between them.
Been doing this for a few years. Have bought ASOS, Marks and Spencer, Look Fantastic over the years.

Yes, I can't remember exactly when, I think end of Nov, two years ago I got DD one because they dropped the price by £10 or something that made it still pricey but not quite as insane! Sorry that's vague but I would hold off if you can x

Does anyone have any experience of buying Hotel Chocolat from Amazon? Are the dates long?

I buy for work pretty regularly as prizes and usually it’s just a few months , we’ve been caught out before when people haven’t been in the office to get their prize (though I have enjoyed eating the out of date chocolates 😂)

awaynboilyurheid · 28/09/2025 15:46

Anyone got a code for must have ideas? I’d like the elf tape!

99% I saw that they did last year, as I was tempted (DD ended up with 2 bargain advent calendars as it was! 😆). Not sure whether itwas just in store/online/both.

Funnily enough I bought some of the command picture hooks that also fell done (picture smashed) and ripped paint off the wall too!

Looking at receipts I bought a Smiggle calendars in Oct 2023 and one on 23 Nov 2022 for 50% off online and I’m pretty sure that’s after I bought full price in 2021 in store as soon as they were launched and then realised they get discounted later on!

weareallqueens · 28/09/2025 16:51

Smiggle advent calendars drop in price massively, even before December, both in store and online. Hang on for as long as you can.

lotsofthingstolearn · 28/09/2025 16:57

No bargains as such yet

Can anyone help with recommendations for football kits please

I've bought from footballbestforyou for about 4 years - this last year the quality was noticeably different.

I'm aware for the need to order early so just seeking out what others have got experience of.

Also went in B&M earlier they have wine bottle jumpers (£2) that I have seen on social media on a jellycat making it a perfect Christmas gift!

Ohmeohmyohme · 28/09/2025 17:04

Ive got smiggle calendars the last 2 years for £12.50 by hanging on. We’ve gone for tinc this year as a change. @MaybeMrs for older teen advent calendars under £100 try:

Are the Jurassic Jim fossil advents good? Do the fossils just come individually wrapped and then you can put them in your own calendars?

IlovePond · 28/09/2025 17:47

Speaking of Boots 3-4-2. Do make sure that the 3-4-2 offers go through the till - especially if you are doing an expensive shop, (so easy not to notice).

I had a heck of a time today trying to get a faulty 3-4-2 offer to work - attempting to explain to five staff, (and that’s not an exaggeration), that it was ‘mix and match’, which meant not all three items had to be the same thing🙈 Not one of them understood what I meant/believed me. I got the offer eventually, but only because I politely persisted and showed them the notice and the appropriate shelf.

If it had been a bigger shop I probably wouldn’t have realised until too late.

Toooldforlonghair · 28/09/2025 18:05

My local Tesco Express has lots of clubcard offers on various chocolates including Ferro Rocher, After Eights and cartons of Heros and Celebrations. Checked the After Eights best before date which was July 2026. Not that that matters in my house!
