Evening all!

Welcome to the first prequel thread of 2025

These tend to run slower than the run up to Christmas ones but doesn't mean there are no bargains!

Happy Christmas Bargain Shopping!

If you have a spare 5 minutes every now and then it might be worth looking at the M&S sale. I think it’s coming to an end now, at least for their own brand things, but odd items keep cropping up which weren’t there an hour before, presumably returns.

Go to “Offers”, “Sale” and then whatever category you’re interested in.

Some Melissa and Doug toys are less than half price.

I have seen things for cold weather, like electric blankets and thermal vests. I’ve just bought some men’s fleece gloves, reduced from £15 to £5:50, in charcoal or black.

Click and Collect is free, delivery is free for £60+.

I managed to get the sloe gin fizz in M and S today for £2.50 a bottle so I got 2. Only real food bargain in there though.

ArthurChristmas22 · 12/01/2025 19:55

John Lewis are starting on their third round of reductions. If you are a slightly odd size (DD is a 4 or 6) there are some real bargains!

hby9628 · 12/01/2025 20:37

H&M have a good online sale. Some beauty advent calendars on offer

LonelyMom123 · 12/01/2025 20:39

Sorry to ask but does anyone have an Argos code please?

Solmum1964 · 12/01/2025 21:52

Could someone remind me of the kitchen shears that were recommended before Christmas please?
I really struggled to cut a large raw chicken in half at the weekend with my kitchen scissors that had been fine previously!

Room4onemore · 12/01/2025 23:18

Just made a big order from smiggle, a couple of lunch boxes for school, water bottles and lots of stationery to put away, all in sale with an extra 40% off

It was the kitchen aid ones, I bought a pair and they're brilliant.

I first posted them when they went down to £4 in December 2022. They haven't been that low since, but did go to £6 last July Prime Day.

I've never seen it any lower. I bought it at that price for DD(13) for Christmas and she's absolutely loved making them and displaying them (they get rearranged a lot) I'd say its well worth the money.

I don’t suppose anyone has a student discount I could borrow do they, please?

I am trying to book a zoo trip for my daughter’s birthday and it is very expensive so I would really appreciate it if anyone wouldn’t mind.

DaffodilsInAJamjar · 13/01/2025 19:02

I need to buy a student railcard- does anyone know of any offers/deals before I buy one, please?

Do you have a Tesco clubcard? You can usually pay for railcards with your points.

Thank you @PeskyPotato . I thought it might be these.

Do you have any Tesco Clubcard vouchers? You can double these up to put towards one - so £15 of Clubcard vouchers gets £30 for a railcard.
I don't think you have to have the full amount anymore either, so any you do have would help.

I got them for £22 from Next a couple of weeks ago! They’re so lovely to display, my daughter has nabbed them for her room!

IRL bargains here from Sainsbury's after being stuck in with the snow and ice.

  • doodle all the way crackers £1 (from £10)
  • x2 bath confetti for 40p (think these were £1.80
  • Xmas chutney for 16p!
Nothing else overly exciting but they had LOADS of boxes of celebrations for £5 so I imagine they'll be getting discounted

Which zoo? I don't have student discount but have various others.

DaffodilsInAJamjar · 13/01/2025 22:20

Thank you SolMum1964 and MerylSqueak. I had no idea Tesco clubcard vouchers could used towards railcards.

Will be doing that- appreciate the help!

Boots £10 Tuesday has some giftable offers, including several sets of 3 Ted Baker toiletries which they say would normally cost £28 to £36.
