Evening all!

Welcome to the first prequel thread of 2025

These tend to run slower than the run up to Christmas ones but doesn't mean there are no bargains!

Happy Christmas Bargain Shopping!

My local Tesco had tonnes of boxes of 12 Christmas crackers for £1.35. Very pretty ones too with a holly leaf design. They also had some 6 foot artificial trees for £18 which looked quite nice.

fallingleavesandhairyknees · 08/01/2025 18:06

Lidl have packs of candy canes for 20p. They are dated June 2026 so good to pack away for this year.

MulberryPeony · 08/01/2025 19:34

I picked up two mini trees for free off a local site. I push all of the branches downward and put them in fancy pot to make them look better. Prelit too. Always fancied an all white tree. I may heavy flock it.

@DuckDuckDuckGooseDuck I got my last one from eBay as even with stacking discounts and Quidco it was cheaper

hby9628 · 08/01/2025 20:52

I've seen someone on a Facebook page say that boots has 70% off but I have no proof of this. Might be worth a look if anyone's passing.

Ah thanks, I went ahead and ordered with the 15% off code from lovely person I can't remember who shared it. I would have got something from regatta but they didn't have the size I needed.

Heated vest (L + XL) £34.19

SpottyBumPony · 09/01/2025 11:07

Has anybody ordered from Hogies Online?

I can't decide if it looks too good to be true?

sansou · 09/01/2025 11:34

Waitrose Xmas wrap now at 20p, cards at 30p and tags at 13p. I might as well save on this since I have a quote of £3.5K!! for a dental implant from my dentist (former NHS turned private/Denplan just to access appointments for annual checkup). My 20+ yr root canal and crown has finally bit the dust and I need the tooth extracted and the dental implant seems to be the best option but....I'm shocked by the cost so haven't proceeded as yet.

40% cashback on Amazon Prime Video on my Monzo today, not sure if everyone gets the same offers though.

Yes and couldn't fault them. Genuine article, low price, well packaged, arrived really quickly.

I'm excited for this! Couldn't justify spending £20 on buying Wicked but can totally talk myself into £12 😏

IlovePond · 08/01/2025 16:52

Thanks @LittleRedRidingHoody - that’s made my day!

Good luck finding the h/w bottles. In my local they were near the ladies socks/nightwear.

They'd sold out! I must live in a Yoda obsessed town 🫠

Did find @fallingleavesandhairyknees candy canes though - just in time to pack away with all the Christmas wrap! TY!

gaggiagirl · 09/01/2025 13:31

I've been to boots today and the Christmas items were still at 50%off not 70% just yet.
Been to Aldi and they had so many Xmas food items down to pence!
I got a beautiful looking box of chocolates for 49p or it may have been 29p. 3 packs of festive chutney 49p. Festive crisps, popcorn, chocolate gifts,.crackers. I did really well.

Fuckingfuckssake · 09/01/2025 14:23

Who was looking for the M&S light up tin? Was it Santa's workshop?

It was Streetcornerchoir and it was the domed lid one with Santa's sleigh she was after (I remember her mentioning it yesterday)

Fuckingfuckssake · 09/01/2025 15:07

@RainbowZebraWarrior ah thanks, I'm no help then, I managed to pick up a Santa's Workshop. Never mind.

IlovePond · 09/01/2025 15:21

Oh no @LittleRedRidingHoody - and you can’t search online for them either. What a shame!

rhubarbhandsoap · 09/01/2025 18:14

@gaggiagirl thanks for the Aldi tip I popped in and got big bags of Lebuchken (long dates) and some Christmas tortilla chips, all 29p 🥰🎄

Moonshine5 · 09/01/2025 21:12

Has anyone got an Argos code they won't use please

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 09/01/2025 22:40

Boots have a 24 days of masking advent calendar down to £6.49. I think this would be good to split maybe? 24 masks,.so per pop it's pretty cheap!

Chocolateteabag · 10/01/2025 07:30

@sansou - ouch that sucks - if it helps at all £3.5k does sound about right for an implant

I had to get one last year after my cracked/root canaled tooth finally gave up - it was £3k in the end as I didn't need a bone graft

But it's so much better now it's done

Sainsbury's tags and bottle bags were checking out at 10p yesterday (50p on the shelf) rest of the shoes seemed to have pretty much stopped though

LittleRedRidingHoody · 10/01/2025 07:35

Just a prompt to check Vinted for Christmas jumpers/PJs now rather than in December if that's something you'd normally do! So many kids jumpers for £1, and bagged DS a few pairs of White Company reindeer PJs (new with tags) for £2 as well. Everything was much more expensive just before Christmas 😅

Restlessinthenorth · 10/01/2025 16:09

My Tescos had some lovely big boxes of toblerone truffles reduced from £9 to £2.50. BB date is well into 2026 too, so great to keep in the present cupboard. Will be obviously be store dependent but worth a check
