Evening all!

Welcome to the first prequel thread of 2025

These tend to run slower than the run up to Christmas ones but doesn't mean there are no bargains!

Happy Christmas Bargain Shopping!

Hi,

@Streetcornerchoir were you looking for the M&S projection tree?

It’s available at Ocado:

https://www.ocado.com/products/m-s-all-butter-shortbread-projection-tree-639829011

I’ve also seen this on the Ocado site, first orders only but looks good.

Save 25% on your first order + 3 months unlimited free deliveries. Enter VOU4746115 at checkout. Min spend £60. Max reward £20.

Sainsbury’s cheese truckles went down to 1p each, and there were loads, so I now have several dozen stashed in the freezer 😅

What’s the quality like on regatta please?

In my opinion great quality 😊

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 04/01/2025 21:16

@User236792 happy with sons coat i collected today although it's no way worth the retail price of £70 it says on the website. I'd say it's probably worth half of that but I paid £15 for it.

I used to work in an outdoor shop (many years ago!) and we would rarely get any regatta returns.

Yes this was wild! Not much when I got there but I got some wendsledaye that is good until the end of the month and a 1p truffle brie which I made into a tartiflette thing. Also party food was 1.30 and brandy butter was 1p so great as we had friends for lunch. Definitely our last day of Christmas eating!

Got 30p gingerbread baking set in m and s. 30p cards and 50p wrapping paper in waitrose.

Has anyone seen any good deals on Christmas pyjamas? I usually buy some in the sales for the next Christmas but so far can't see much (or it's too pricey!). Last year I got Christmas pudding fleecey pjs for the whole family for £3 each from Frasers, so looking for something equally bargainous!

I got the 50 items for £40 and took advantage of a cashback offer at the time.

Very pleased with most of them. A few duds that wouldn’t get used which have gone to our community reuse initiative, but some really good items.

I was most impressed with the make up organiser, the nail scissors, the tweezer sets, the eye palettes, the round lip balms, the eye pencils, and the sparkly hair clips.

If you want to see any photos let me know.

I'd love to know if/how the make up organiser is packaged if you have a pic. Also if you got a six pack of nail varnishes at all? I assume 6 minis but look a sweet gift. Did you buy any necklaces? Thinking these items may be good for a secret shopping room we do with the PTA! Thanks so much.

I have picked up some wrapping paper and gift bags at Sainsbury's but think that's it so far really! Oh and some money holder keyrings for £2 at Tesco which are perfect for giving the nephews their Christmas cash in a more interesting manner!

M&S had gingerbread syrup reduced to 85p today. The use by date is May 2027, so I've bought a couple of bottles- one for me and one for a hamper.

PoodleMum23 · 05/01/2025 03:07

Pictionary AI is at £6.80 right now on Amazon. Got it for my friend's daughter age 10 at christmas and it went down a storm.

A lot of reduced (mostly half price or better) Christmas bits in our local garden centre including nice Gisela Graham decorations and lots of types of lights.

IlovePond · 05/01/2025 16:59

Hi, Xmas trees for £18 in my Tesco, plus some alcohol gift sets half price.

Managed to get a couple of huge pork pies for 78p each, (so that’s DH and DS sorted for today and tomorrow!)

Waitrose had huge jars of mincemeat for 29p with a summer expiry date.

Check the expiry dates of fresh stuff:

I had a word at Tesco today about a load of cheese that expired 29/12 that was mixed in with stuff that had today’s date.

IlovePond · 05/01/2025 17:12

Just a reminder that you can get some nice things for free on your birthday via loyalty cards.

I got a free birthday gift from SpaceNK today - no spend required.

I also got a large and expensive liquid hand wash from Rituals (£14.90), with only a token purchase instore last week. They even gave me a choice of fragrance, so I got the Jasmine.

Apologies for I do not come bearing bargains but seeking advice. Boden sale, I currently have a basket of children's clothes that are in the sale with a code for a further 10% off. Am I likely to get any better? Code finishes at midnight tonight so I either buy now or hold my nerve and hope for bigger reductions! I can't decide 😩

IlovePond · 05/01/2025 18:32

@CapybaraParty - you could always return them if bigger discounts come along. Or call CS and ask them to refund the difference, (or you’ll return).

CapybaraParty · 05/01/2025 18:41

Ooooh I hadn't thought of that, good call. Thank you @IlovePond

The fleece Christmas pudding ones are £4 at Studio at the moment. I’ve just ordered some. They look like they might be too warm to sleep in, but perfect for lazy days in December.
