What Xmas presents have you bought yourself, or plan to?

One of the things that I absolutely LOVE about being single is the time on Xmas Eve and Day that I get to surf the 'net and shop for bargain price goodies for myself. I put away money every month in a savings account throughout the year to buy gifts for people - but mostly for me! 😂

Last year I bought myself a DAB radio/CD player for the kitchen; this year a laptop and a new phone. I've also hit Boots as that's amazing and has 20% off online only order atm - so I bought a new MAC foundation brush and some make-up - now holding fire for the reduced perfume gift sets...😈😁

What do you get yourself?

I bought myself a running harness with a light for a fiver from Aldi. Also some suede boots, sheepskin gloves, a fancy scarf and a cross body bag.

Chocolates. Trainers. A book. Other bits ive forgotten now. Benefits of shitty peri memory.

I allocate £100 for me.....i buy new unwanted clothing on Vinted...people clear out before xmas so have got 2 tracksuits so far, both Adidas and appx £14 each...now waiting for the boxing day clear outs of unwanted stuff and hoping to get a gaultier fragrance cheap !

Gliblet · 23/12/2024 22:14

Waiting to see if Saltworks do a post-Christmas sale (still kicking myself for missing the Black Friday sale they did) to treat myself to some Oud Bazaar. Also we're at home for once so I might actually brave the boxing day sales in our home city (maybe I'm missing the days when I used to play rugby 😁 )

A kindle

I really think it's important to spoil oneself, particularly if single - but that said, only you know you and to get 'stuff' for yourself to 'reward' yourself for all that you do and all that you are - SO important. Remember what you've done for others and be your own best friend. Sorry if that sounds a bit cliche, but at a time of year when we don't always feel appreciated by others, it's vital that we are good to ourselves. ❤

That's such a good idea to save monthly to treat yourself. I'm going to do that next year.

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/12/2024 23:32

I also save all year for Christmas and so that I can treat myself to a few things I wouldn't normally buy. I've bought some boots, a bag, some makeup and skincare. I also bought a necklace. Lovely!

Glitterybee · 23/12/2024 23:34

Skincare and my favourite chocolates

Blueuggboots · 23/12/2024 23:44

Cuticle oil and hand cream from l'occitane.

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/12/2024 23:54

I made myself a beautiful bracelet.

GoldenSunflowers · 24/12/2024 00:01

I bought a pretty jumper. Now I need to decide whether to keep it as it’s handwash only.

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 24/12/2024 00:13

Pjs that match DS’s. A couple of books, some chocolates

rockstarshoes · 24/12/2024 00:27

This might be a separate thread because I'm married but I've dropped lots of hints about a pair of boots I want! They were a late addition otherwise I would have already asked!

Anyway I've bought a pair on line & they are in the boot of my car! 🤣
If DH husband has bought them for me I will be overjoyed & take them back, if not they are coming out of the boot on Christmas Day!

HobnobsChoice · 24/12/2024 00:30

A load of new clothes ( new to me anyway as they all came from eBay or Vinted). I've lost almost 6 stone and haven't bought clothes this size for half my life time. I've now got something approaching a capsule wardrobe and I'm quite enjoying it.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 24/12/2024 00:36

Nail clippers
tweezers with a LED
hair curler, one of those that sucks your hair in
i also ordered myself a box set of fluffy socks my 7yo will be giving me for Secret Santa tomorrow.

When I was single I always bought something nice for myself for my birthdays and Christmas, I literally received some of my favourite gifts 😂

TheVampireArmand · 24/12/2024 00:44

Fuck all. I’m so crippled with the cost this Xmas as a single mum on UC after our rent being increased by £125 (would have been £150 but I managed to get it down just that little bit) in June but UC won't come near it because they only have to pay LHA, which was already £100 under the rent cost as it was.
I hope I get tjny screwdrivers in a cracker. At least that would be useful for me.

Felimscat · 24/12/2024 00:48

Elemis bath and body set
Two book
Chocolates

PoorUncleBarry · 24/12/2024 00:50

A set of Clinique skincare products for my poor battered skin. I usually don't bother with pampering type items but good gosh I need it. It even came in a pretty bag, yay.

Ihopeithinkiknow · 24/12/2024 02:02

I have bought myself brand new copies of every Oasis album on CD because for some reason (my kids when toddlers) broke the cases or snapped the discs, my fault for having them at toddler height lol so now I have my complete collection back all unharmed

Lampzade · 24/12/2024 02:09

Bought myself a walking pad. Love it

BettyBardMacDonald · 24/12/2024 03:11

I order things year round from eBay, etsy and vinted. Throw them unopened into a box. Always forget what is in there so have an excellent surprise basket on Christmas Day.

Mumdiva99 · 24/12/2024 03:21

I'm not single but this year hubby and I have bought our own presents. I have a small set of Neil's yard shower gels, florentines, and something else I've forgotten. (We have both spent plenty of money through the year that big stuff isn't required.) I also bought new boots in the sale yesterday but they are just everyday functional boots for work - I just buy them in the sale it's not really an Xmas present.

I love that idea. Have a great time opening the goodies.
