One of the things that I absolutely LOVE about being single is the time on Xmas Eve and Day that I get to surf the 'net and shop for bargain price goodies for myself. I put away money every month in a savings account throughout the year to buy gifts for people - but mostly for me! 😂

Last year I bought myself a DAB radio/CD player for the kitchen; this year a laptop and a new phone. I've also hit Boots as that's amazing and has 20% off online only order atm - so I bought a new MAC foundation brush and some make-up - now holding fire for the reduced perfume gift sets...😈😁

What do you get yourself?

I’d like to buy the LEGO Jazz Quartet set out of my Christmas money, but it isn’t in stock anywhere 😪

My Dad gave me some money for Christmas, so I bought a gym bag for swimming. The rest will go towards the LEGO set, if I can find one!

I bought one a couple of months ago and it's amazing. Could not love it more. I can't believe how much less stressed about work I am.

Oh that makes me so happy to read! I can’t wait! Really hope my disorganized mess and many notebooks will be magically transformed!

WWGD · 27/12/2024 20:22

I bought myself a Le creuset garlic pot as a little gift and also some fortnum and Mason chocolates I got for someone else then found them something else instead

I do lots of different roles/jobs/committees. Each one had a notebook and a file despite trying very hard to avoid paper. Now they're slowly moving over to one device. If I need to do something on the evening I can make notes and switch off without the creep of checking my emails which used to make me so uptight. For me it's a game changer and worth the cost. I also have to review very long documents, so mush easier to do and less tiring on my eyes.

Enjoy @TheMamaYo

@rockstarshoes did your DH buy you the boots in the end or was it carboot surprise?

Motheranddaughter · 27/12/2024 20:59

My parents in law gave me £500
They like to see it spent on things
So far I am thinking cashmere jumper ,boots and Chanel perfume

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 27/12/2024 21:05

Shark flex fusion. Not tried it yet but desperately hoping it's good!

Needhelp101 · 27/12/2024 21:35

I order things year round from eBay, etsy and vinted. Throw them unopened into a box. Always forget what is in there so have an excellent surprise basket on Christmas Day.

This is a fantastic idea and I will definitely be doing this in 2025.

I got myself new pyjamas, cosy socks and a cheap Christmas jumper a mere fiver from Primark. I did buy some Neal's Yard hand wash and some pretty pens but gave both away as a secret Santa.

That’s so lovely.

I’m actually thinking about what I’d get with £500! 🫣

I bought myself a lego botanicals set (the chrysanthemum). I made it this evening and it is stunning. It is now on display!

@ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS where did you get the LED tweezers and do they grip well? What a great idea.

I haven’t used them yet but I bought from Poundland, I used an eyelash curler I bought too and it’s nicer than some more expensive ones I’ve bought in the past.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 27/12/2024 23:27

AmazingGraze · 27/12/2024 04:59

Tweezers with an LED! Where do I find these?!

Poundland!

You know what, a couple of days later and I’m still thinking on what you said. May you never be caught in a situation similar to mine. May you in future have a more understanding outlook towards other people. Did you think for a second before you felt some need to put the boot in? Try asking if you can be an admin here so you can police threads. I doubt you'd be in the spirit of the site in general. We can't all be vile. Thanks for the boot, though I can think of certain places it should be well placed for you.

But the topic of the thread is clearly directed to those who ARE able to buy gifts for themselves. No one said it would apply to everyone here.

Hijacking it in an Eeyore manner is tiresome.

Are we all supposed to scale down to the lowest common denominator, even if we haven't made life choices that leave us lacking certain lifestyle choices???

JMAngel1 · 28/12/2024 07:38

Well this has all turned very non festive.

@TheVampireArmand - I’m sorry for your position and hope 2025 brings you luck.

Sometimes positions people are in are not of their own making.

I apologise if my comment came across as nasty as you clearly have taken it.
However it is a factual comment. The OP has asked for a certain specific answer.
For your information I have been through similar in my lifetime - won't go into specific details - and I wouldn't wish it on anybody, however it's a valid comment I made.
I hope 2025 is kinder for you.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 27/12/2024 23:27

Poundland!

Oooh these sound awesome!

SallyWD · 28/12/2024 09:09

Nothing big but two beautiful Emma Bridgewater mugs - nighttime scenes of a hare and a deer. They're so expensive new but were reduced after Christmas.

Felimscat · 28/12/2024 09:16

@TheVampireArmand oh goodness some people on them is thread are vile. Ignore these terrible comments. You are welcome on this thread, you don't need people telling you what you can and can't post!

I hope 2025 is a better year for you. And hope you are able to treat yourself in some way over the remaining festive period, even a small something for you. Your favourite chocolate bar, a hot cuppa and 5 minutes peace is very restorative I find.

husbandcallsmepickle · 28/12/2024 10:37

I'm going to treat myself to some new Lego. There was a big box under the tree from DH and I was very excited what it was. I unwrapped it on Christmas day and it was a BLOODY TOASTER, which I didn't want or ask for, plus it was my main present. So utterly disappointed, so I'm buying my own.

Beebumble2 · 30/12/2024 00:05

A cashmere jumper from JL and some lovely silver earrings that were expensive, but half price in a sale.

TwinklyNight · 30/12/2024 02:27

Nothing yet but plan on buying a walking pad & some boots or shoes, and a toque & scarf to match my new coat.

Gliblet · 30/12/2024 19:53

So, after some deliberation, I have bought myself a couple of new tops and a dress from the Joe Browns sale, and one of the Saltworks discovery sets. If anyone is thinking of trying their perfumes, PM me and I can give you a new customer discount code - top tip: if you buy a discovery set you get 10 little bottles of their perfumes to try for £29 and a £25 voucher for when you've decided on which one you want to buy a full size bottle of. They're gorgeous.

Disclaimer: I am not on commission 😆

Buy it!!!

I bought the 3 in 1 after Christmas last year and it’s one of my best purchases ever.
