I am very fussy about wrapping paper and the only one I found I liked this year is out of stock, it was a double sided Dunelm one

I haven't found another I even remotely like. I love wrapping and using ribbon to make it all look amazing.

I always buy the silver kraft type paper from John Lewis/Waitrose. I use it for every occasion so I always have suitable paper and it means I only need one roll stored. One less thing to think about.

GoldenLegend · 02/12/2024 23:47

Mine’s from oxfam and has woodland animals on it

Topsyturvy78 · 03/12/2024 00:21

The 10 metre roll's from Asda that cost £1 each. Only gets ripped off and thrown in the bin.

@ElvenElf ive got a few from flying tiger including the lights one someone else suggested. https://flyingtiger.com/en-gb/products/wrapping-paper-with-christmas-flowers-400x70-cm-3057846

they don't make good quality wrapping paper anymore as they're making everything recyclable. M&S used to do the most beautiful paper with glitter or foil detailing.

The best place is WHSmith. They have some really good designs and use biodegradable glitter now.

@Jollyjolene and @Vanessashanessajenkins2 I love both of those but want something with a lot more colour this year. I love some deep dark colours I think.

I usually buy the Kraft rolls from John Lewis in metallic gold or navy/red/forest green and then use velvet ribbons. They are in stock :)

A bit off the thread, but did anybody buy that glittery reindeer one from Tesco a few years ago that was basically a glitter bomb equivalent?

It had so much glitter you could hardly tape presents up and I had glitter for months afterwards everywhere!

Recycling companies were fuming as everyone tried to put it with paper/card Recycling which rendered everything else in the bins not recyclable.

It was very pretty though ...

YES. Still regretting it in 2024!!

Commonsense22 · 03/12/2024 06:25

That's gorgeous OP! I had to get s roll in a hurry and got it from next and needed something that could be used for birthdays too.

BlackChunkyBoots · 03/12/2024 06:51

Not RTFT but I picked up a couple of rolls at Tiger Copenhagen, alongside some ribbon. It's easily recyclable brown paper based with holly on it.

Yes!!!!!! Think I’m still traumatised from the glitter!! Haha

I really miss paperchase for great paper.
Lidl is good for very young kids wrapping, they seem to do huge rolls so good if there’s a large in size present.
Brown paper with ribbons for me this year but John Lewis have a good choice!

Itsgottobeme · 03/12/2024 07:10

Aldi some gorgeous ones for 89 and 99p. One on brown paper design one white.

Itsgottobeme · 03/12/2024 07:11

Aldi also doing big bags. 2 per pack. They are lovely.

Hobbesmanc · 03/12/2024 07:14

I love the John Lewis peacock print. They've a few papers in dark rich greens and blues which I've gone for this year.

Trixiefirecracker · 03/12/2024 07:52

Aldi! I always love the Kraft paper with prints and theirs is lovely this year.

Wilfrida1 · 03/12/2024 08:02

All adult presents are wrapped in reusable fabric bags I have made.

frozendaisy · 03/12/2024 08:06

cookie232 · 02/12/2024 21:24

@frozendaisy Where is it from? I love it.

WHSmith

SnoringNelly · 03/12/2024 08:57

I love all the wrapping paper that posters have shared. I’m the type to purchase the wrapping in November, well before the wrapping paper choice is reduced. I look for a nice pattern, no writing and not cartoonish looking. I also like adding ribbons, it makes it look so festive!

Gilead · 03/12/2024 09:15

Brown parcel paper 30m for a fiver.
im quite good at calligraphy so brigten up with nicely written labels.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/12/2024 09:28

TBH I always find it hard to find any I really like - I want something really Christmassy - so many seem to be wishy-washy, and/or in non Christmassy colours. I don’t want anything boringly ‘tasteful’, either! And pref. with lines on the back to aid cutting out.

Found some that’s more or less right in a garden centre but have yet to check the lines on the back situation.

Aldi. I like brown recyclable thick paper. They've got lovely designs - my favourite is the little dogs.

This is the one I’ve got 🥰.

CrispieCake · 03/12/2024 09:52

A plea to please post pictures if you can! It brightens the thread up and saves Googling/following links.

GettingStuffed · 03/12/2024 09:58

I just use whatever is in the house. The Ops paper is available from Dunelm

ViciousCurrentBun · 03/12/2024 10:05

Gift bags for me, we re use them so don’t even have to rewrite the labels sometimes. Last year the shop I volunteer in had to bin unsold wrapping paper and gift bags. So I got 30 free gift bags. I did do paper when children were little so they could tear it off.

CrispieCake · 03/12/2024 10:06

We're using this paper this year for parents/PIL gifts (evergreen trees from Next).
