I am very fussy about wrapping paper and the only one I found I liked this year is out of stock, it was a double sided Dunelm one

I haven't found another I even remotely like. I love wrapping and using ribbon to make it all look amazing.

I always use brown parcel paper and the kids potato print it. Well they're teens now but still like doing it

Same. Bought recycled brown paper from Hobbycraft for the kids to print onto. Cheap, personal and recyclable.

I use newspaper.

Something big like the Observer or saturday Times is good, as there are plenty of topical photos just begging for witty captions.

Also very good from a recycling perspective 🙂

Growing up, Dad was always last to.wrap his presents to Mum by which time there was very little, if any, giftwrap left so wrapping in newspaper became a family tradition!

Noidea2024 · 02/12/2024 19:10

I've gone with Waitrose/ John Lewis gold and red craft paper, with twine/ red & white twine. Santa was planning to wrap in a gorgeous Father Christmas printed paper, but when 'he' can to do the wrapping, it has John Lewis printed all over the reverse 🙈

MamaWeasel · 02/12/2024 19:16

Whatever is left under the bed from previous years, really.

I found some lovely wrapping paper by Cambridge Imprints at the local garden centre which is gorgeous but bloody expensive!

I haven’t looked elsewhere but will probably wrap the children’s gifts in something cheaper and save the nicer stuff for friends and family.

It’ll be a shame to throw it away! I’d open the presents very carefully and recycle it!

Merrymess · 02/12/2024 19:21

I just buy the cheap stuff from Poundland or B & M. Or reuse christmas gift bags.

Nothing jumped out so got this

Thanks all. I did brown kraft last year. Ideally would like to stick with kraft but just something with a bit of colour on it. I know some people don't really care but I love the wrapping process and love making my presents look really special, it is one of my favourite parts of Christmas.
I have just seen some nice stuff on RSPB of all places so might order a roll and see what it is like and also like some of the Waterstones wrap.
To the PP that mentioned they could add the paper I like to their basket for collection I think it just depends if your local store has any left and unfortunately none near me have any.
Loving hearing about everyone else's paper 🎅

That is so frustrating! Mine are teens now but still love a more childlike print!

Lidl, 99p a roll, fully recyclable

isthesolution · 02/12/2024 19:36

Aldi. I like brown recyclable thick paper. They've got lovely designs - my favourite is the little dogs.

ElvenElf · 02/12/2024 19:38

@Jollyjolene and @Vanessashanessajenkins2 I love both of those but want something with a lot more colour this year. I love some deep dark colours I think.

I use whatever I’ve bought in the sales the previous January. I have no idea what it is until I get the decorations out again.

same for cards.

pestowithwalnuts · 02/12/2024 19:58

I have some red kraft paper .brown paper with a gold shimmer. And a big roll of some with a very small pattern of holly leaves.
I like the plain papers as a I can dress up the parcels more.
I once spent ages covering a gift with foil wrapped chocolate coins using double sided tape. My nephews loved it

Piranesi7 · 02/12/2024 20:05

Eastend press...expensive,but beautiful and I'll be able to use it all year (if there's any left!)The children,Aldi have a decent selection. I'm finding it difficult getting cards for the family that aren't totally cringeworthy...so far,Sainsbury have the only decent ones!

CrazyAndSagittarius · 02/12/2024 20:08

okydokethen · 02/12/2024 13:20

I've got this and it's lovely thick quality paper

Rub it in why don't you 😂😂😂

Pumpkinseason3 · 02/12/2024 20:10

I’ve ordered some of these designs this year 😊 Haven’t received them yet so can’t speak on the quality but they’re a local company and the stuff is cute so I’m hoping it’ll be good and they can be my new go-to!

BelievingIsSeeing · 02/12/2024 20:26

@EveryOtherNameTaken Yes, I asked my mum to buy me an emergency 'nice' roll and she delivered the glittery reindeer.
I was using my ironing board as a table and was a good few gifts in before I realised absolutely everything was glistening gold Xmas Grin

I bought this set in January from Bernardo's. It's lovely, and for the kids I picked up some awful but they'll love it Spider-Man, Grinch, Stitch and random Santa paper from Aldi

Costco double sided wrapping paper.

It’s cheaper in store (and you don’t need to get two packs).
