@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hi any ideas for makeup for an 8 year old girl? I've got a delivering joy tag and that's what she's asked for

@Iggi999 do you have the link to these please? I've had a look through and must keep missing it.

Can anyone recommend some swimming flippers. For age 12, these are the kind you can put on indoors in a swimming pool. a decent pair required, for a good swimmer.

beetr00 · 31/10/2024 21:29

@SweetPeaPods was it these?

TinyGingerCat · Today 14:18

Those P Louise lipglosses are often £11 each anyways so not really an amazing bargain. DDs have about 10 😂😂

@dramalamma is the cheap glitch price on the Lego Buckbeak only for people who are Sainsbury's members or will it scan at the lower price at the tills for everyone, do you know? Just wondering if it's worth a trip to my local store just in case they still have some...

I cant be sure as DH paid on my phone at the self check out and the other lady i saw buying the same was also at the self check out so she could have been on the app or not.... but i was chatting to a sainsburys lady and she didnt mention it was just for smart scan - just that it was a scanning glitch they werent able to fix

Id seen it mentioned on facebook last night and they even had it on priced at £4 on the shelf label jn the photo they posted so id be very surprised if it was just on the app. If you do find one and it did end up not scanning, its really easy to download smart shop app and register for a sainsburys account.... more hassle i know but you dont have to use it again (and its not the first time ive found bargains that haven't been marked on the shelf ..... tho this is definitely the biggest bargain!)

🤞🤞🤞 that you also find a bargain! Im going to pop in again tomorrow to check for more reductions.... tho cant help thinking theyre never going to match this one! 😂

N96 · 31/10/2024 21:54

Thank you to all who posted information about Plouise lip set. That's been very helpful.

dramalamma · 31/10/2024 21:57

@PurpleSkittle - just realised you asked about members not the app - definitely wasn't just for nectar card holders so definitely worth a look!

Vimaybe · 31/10/2024 22:03

@Audubon I have a 10% discount code I can send you if you pm 😊

weareallqueens · 31/10/2024 22:14

Any recommendations for Descendants stuff? My niece (aged 8) is a big fan but most of what I've seen is pricey for something that looks pretty poor quality.

Cuisinart Nutribullets finaly arrived. Excellent quality. Really pleased with these so thanks for the tip off.

What was the deal on Nutribullets? I can’t keep up with the threads!

PurpleSkittler · 31/10/2024 22:22

@dramalamma I decided to go just in case, but they just had an empty gap on the shelf. It was worth a try. Glad you got such a bargain!

Try Vinted, that's where I got lots when my daughters were into it.

I want to get a coffee maker for someone, but think the Vertuo pods are too expensive. Anyone know the best machine to get her that has cheaper pods. Thanks

I have the Bosch tassimo, you can get the pods in the supermarket. Morrisons usually have them on offer.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 31/10/2024 23:03

Agree with the Tassimo. I love mine and still going strong 4 years later. Sometimes Amazon have the pods for cheaper than shops too.

Sallylovesdaisy · 31/10/2024 23:03

Thank you @CalliopePlantain I'll have a look at that..I honestly haven't got a clue lol

Sallylovesdaisy · 31/10/2024 23:05

Thanks also @ShinyPrettyThings87 I'll definitely look at the Tassimo

Can I ask where your DDs bought them from and how often they are discounted? I think £25 is good value for the 3 duo sets, but I only really need one!
