@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

For those looking for a mini fridge i have bought a Russel hobbs one off Amazon for £35 instead of £50 and it comes in pink, white, grey or black and looks good!

BarryKentPoet · 03/11/2024 09:00

Where is the cheapest place to get Calvin Klein men's PJs or even just the lounge pants?

Nonamenoplacetogo · 03/11/2024 09:07

Does anyone have an Argos code they won't use? I want to buy a Lego set which is is £67

HoHoJ0 · 03/11/2024 09:09

Isle of Syke Candle company make THE best scented candles at a reasonable price. Have been buying them for years and they are now a fixed gift for the DC ( adults) every Christmas. Now 40% off and free postage. Highly recommend.

Pinkladymel · 03/11/2024 09:24

We bought a Russel Hobbs mini fridge in white last year and I can confirm it looks and works great. No problems at all. Only drawback is the noise but that's the same with all of them.

PurpleSkittler · 03/11/2024 09:33

@TheBigFish I'm not vegan myself but have plenty of friends who are and don't think I would risk this. Some might be okay with it, others not...

How about an insect hotel? Or bird feeder?

MsSheldonCooper · 03/11/2024 09:37

does anyone have any experience of tent / puffer style slippers other than the North Face thermoball ones? Got some for my son last year and he loves them but has now outgrown them. Prices seem higher this year so wondered if anyone has tried any other brands and can recommend? Eg Rab Cirrus, Berghaus, Nordisk down slippers etc? All are cheaper but not sure if they’re “as good”/comfortable as the North Face ones.

thanks

@MidnightMilkman Does she want to build tracks or have a garage type loop the loop thing? The hot wheels mario cars are pretty pricey. B&M has the latest collection of individuals cars cheapest I can find, about £7 each I think. Second hand is great for tracks, our local charity shop always has them.

I think she'd probably like a loop.
The mario is more for me, so I won't be spending £100+ on that 😆

I'll keep an eye out at charity shops. A quick look on vinted isn't really showing bargains - some of them are actually the same/more expensive than new (and in stock)!

I love Isle of Skye candles. Just put my referral

VolcanicProtectorMan · 03/11/2024 09:59

Has anyone got an Argos code for over £100 please? I’ve got a £5 off £40 one, but wondered if anyone had one for £10 off at all they weren’t going to use? Thanks.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 03/11/2024 10:02

For all those after higher Argos codes, go to their home page scroll down and find this box. Use a different email address if you have already signed up for marketing before

There's a pink mini fridge in Amazon deals at the moment. 28.49. It's very small though and only holds 6 cans

lololulu · 03/11/2024 10:11

Can anyone recommend a long bed pillow (a bit like maternity ones) that help you sleep with a bad back. Thanks.

Butterontoast · 03/11/2024 10:22

@Serenitesanta I use powdered chocolate in our velvetiser all the time and never had any problems.

WimbyAce · 03/11/2024 10:28

Just seen they have the pokemon advent calendar at argos for £15, none in stock near me but might help someone.

Also not sure if already posted, lovely Christmas book on Amazon. Sorry link not working but is Dear Father Christmas and £3.60.

Waffles21 · 03/11/2024 10:29

@MsSheldonCooper :
sorry no help at all, but i’d not seen them before and think my son would love them! The sizes are s-xl and the sizing chart appears to be no help at all! Do you happen to know what shoe sizes these equate to please? Thanks.

White Company 20% is now online. Just had an email.

Could you screenshot your email please. I've only had the email saying its 20% off instore, and when I've added a jumper I want to my cart it's just taking off the original online 10%.
