@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Does anyone have any recommendations for neck warmer/snoods for men? I've seen Turtle doves mentioned but was looking for something a bit less on the spendy side. Thanks 😊

Fillyfrog · 02/11/2024 09:52

Just used a great offer stack on Boots points.

Bought DH and DD new Oral B electric toothbrushes for Christmas. One was £35 and one was £25. Offer is £20 worth of points when you spend over £50 on oral b or braun products.

Also had a voucher on my offers which was 450 points when you spend over £45 in one go.

2450 which I think its £24.50 of points for a spend of £55.
Toothbrushes were heavily discounted too 😊

If anyone is worrying (like me) about buying meat for Christmas dinner, Donald Russell have 25% off a first order if you sign up for the newsletter. Delivery is free over £50. The meat is frozen but everyone in my house us clamouring for beef and I can't afford fresh.

SettlerOfDivan · 02/11/2024 10:09

We have a HC velvetiser, the stirrer thing is awful for going mouldy underneath. I've also got the £20 Aldi milk steamer and frother as a cheaper alternative - I saw one on Thursday in the aisle of shite of my local, so they might be in stock this week.

For gardeners, i would recommend Spear & Jackson Plastic Leaf Grabber https://amzn.eu/d/3bzqRu1

No I'm not tolerating this, Christmas nutcrackers don't actually crack nuts? Wtf?! I mean little flimsy types for tree decorations obviously won't. But I always assumed the taller solid ones did, in their mouths?! Why are they even called nutcrackers if they don't actually crack nuts. Oh man my world has changed today. And I don't know it's in a good way

All the ones Ive bought in Germany do crack nuts in their mouth, its just the flimsy ones here that don't seem to! That is indeed why they are called Nutcrakers, as that's what they are meant to do.

I'm on the hunt for Formula 1 related clothing for a teenager! Apparently she's into it now, she very much favours the oversized baggy stuff so if anyone comes across F1 stuff I'd be grateful. Currently trawling Vinted.

H&M. Search for F1 - they sell T-shirts and hoodies. They occasionally have discount codes kicking about. My DD loves the hoodies.

Hollister have some Mclaren stuff too - pricey though.

or the proper F1 Store, they always have offers.

hiredandsqueak · 02/11/2024 10:55

@Trainstrike | www.kitbag.com seem to have good prices, promo code CROSSBAR might get you a discount too. Have used them previously with no issues.

wibdib · 02/11/2024 10:56

I used this to order a pack when it was suggested a couple of threads ago - if they treat you like they did me, after I ordered it and had paid, they then asked if I wanted a second set of sachets for £3?75(ish), and when I said yes to that they then offered more things cheaply including a full bottle of a product, , a head massage thingy, a head towel thing and a grey silk pillow case for about £11 - I only had the pillowcase as I’d been thinking of getting g one anyway.

so if you’re planning on getting this offer, might be worth having a look at other items in advance so you can decide if you want anything extra or not. No guarantee if everyone gets offered the same things or the same prices but if you’re half wondering about some stuff then it might be worth a punt by not adding other stuff to your basket in case you get offered a better deal…

@wibdib thanks for this. Love T&J, reminds me of my childhood spending time with my grandparents. My children are too old really but I’ll buy it for me and try to pin them down to watch it 😁
