@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hello!
On the hunt for a guinea pig toy please, any recommendations? I'm sure I've seen on here people buying guinea pig toys?
Thanks all!

Have a look at the Asda George website, not toys but a cushion, hot water bottle, socks, bedding. Any use?
There are also Capybara plushs at Hobbycraft.

Delahot · 02/11/2024 11:50

@Blixem id love the crumpet if that’s ok x

Stelmosfire1 · 02/11/2024 11:50

My bridal beauty festival vip bag is being delivered today, I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in it!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 02/11/2024 11:50

@Livinginacatdictatorship Tazzies on ebay do some lovely snoods. She had some great ones last time I looked in greys and blacks or navy coloureays that would be suitable for men. I think her standard size is £22 and she does a large one for £40. I have the standard size and they are plenty big and warm enough.

I've used her loads and she's got some gorgeous new colours in glove wise. She also does headbands. She's recently got new branding (see pics) and her stuff is great quality and looks more expensive than you're paying. All come tissue wrapped with tags. Can't recommend her enough

We have a HC velvetiser, the stirrer thing is awful for going mouldy underneath. I've also got the £20 Aldi milk steamer and frother as a cheaper alternative - I saw one on Thursday in the aisle of shite of my local, so they might be in stock this week.

For gardeners, i would recommend Spear & Jackson Plastic Leaf Grabber https://amzn.eu/d/3bzqRu1

We have the Aldi one and use chocolate flakes poured in with the milk. Really lovely, easy to clean and greta for making lattes too.

handmademitlove · 02/11/2024 11:57

@Livinginacatdictatorship outdoor shops often have neck warmers / headtubes / snoods - eg www.mountainwarehouse.com/ski/ski-accessories/neck-warmers-snoods/patt-polar-fleece-headtube-p9145.aspx/Blue/

Has anyone heard good things bout Harry's razors and foam set ?

They have got their trial set on again .
Razor and foam for just £3.95 delivery.

My husband hates them but doesn’t want to waste them. Ends up having to change them all the time, he can’t wait to finish them!

NWnature · 02/11/2024 12:12

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho on a previous year someone posted The Alpaca Shop and I got a guinea pig toy from there- it is honestly the softest, most adorable thing ever! Highly recommend

I got the fleece for birds nesting for my dad the other year and he loved it. Can use as a bird feeder once it’s been used up

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/11/2024 12:26

Thank you for the Argos tip. Used the £10 off the stand mixer, plus spent some nectar points so cost me £100

and ds & dh prefer Harry’s razors to FFS

Dunk19 · 02/11/2024 12:29

Has Buyagift done their 40% off this year? Should I wait for Black Friday? DS wants another driving experience.

Blixem · 02/11/2024 12:40

Sorry @Annie1290@Delahot and @KenIsAnAccessory it's already gone.

noodledoodler · 02/11/2024 12:41

Catching up again, my elemis from amazon arrived? It's boxed so is that a good sign, would I need to open it to check the fill volume?
Thanks to the poster of the genie lamp thingy from Argos, am picking up later.
Ordered the Bridal Beauty charity bag, can't wait, their bags are always tiptop value and assortment.
Inbox has loads of offers coming in this weekend gonna trawl through see if anything worth sharing.

KenIsAnAccessory · 02/11/2024 12:46

Argh my finger is hovering over the Disney princess Castle on Amazon- has anyone got it? DD is 4 and I am tempted for her 'big' gift. She's not really asked for anything so I'm flying a little blind.
