@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hey, can someone advise what age the magic mixies tpys are suitable for please? I need to buy a present for a six year old girl. Are they too young are about right?

My DNiece has been having then since she was 4.

The ingredients are all in little sachets, so parental help is needed to open them, but all very safe ingredients.

On the other hand, my DD had her first one at 7, and also completely loved it.

I’ve had so many good gift ideas from these threads over the years. So thought I would chip in …

GARDENERS - this is a great mini spade for £10. The size of a trowel but more powerful

https://www.toolstation.com/roughneck-micro-round-shovel/p61959?utm_source=Rakuten&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_content=Skimlinks.com&utm_campaign=1&ranMID=46390&ranEAID=TnL5HPStwNw&ranSiteID=TnL5HPStwNw-GA9MA8YC93Nv9DSQhhyh3w

Hope that helps someone!

We use these in our school nursery. Great for the 3 and 4 year olds to dig in the digging patch. Really sturdy.

Hello lovely people in my phone 👋🏻 DD13 who has a fondness for Monster High has just come across the Wednesday Addams dolls and I was wondering if anyone had seen the Wednesday in Nevermore uniform and Enid ones IRL? Googling is coming up with then Wednesday ones OOS everywhere with Enid only available in Smyths….

Wednesday

Dd has a Wednesday Adams, she's a doll collector has shelves of them, I will ask her how to get one. She tends to buy any special ones directly from Mattel, they often sell out within minutes of release though.

hiredandsqueak · 02/11/2024 08:10

@OhRex So dd bought hers when released from Amazon, she thinks end of September. I've looked and in the alternative sellers there is a new one offered for £47. Dd would buy at that price to be certain of getting her hands on one she says but dd has spent lots on dolls when I don't see the attraction it has to be said.

Spinningaround18 · 02/11/2024 08:21

Crimpit BOGOF offer is back again, but you can’t mix products unfortunately

harvestdesigns · 02/11/2024 08:32

@OhRex Enid is available at Very, as is Wednesday but you need to preorder her stock expected middle of November x

Gustavo1 · 02/11/2024 08:33

Maybe a bit niche but only curls have a ln offer for a free sample pack with £3 delivery. Saves £5.

mimi0910 · 02/11/2024 08:36

Brilliant thanks for this!

Delahot · 02/11/2024 08:42

Just to chip in about nutcracker dolls! They were originally used for cracking nuts, hence the name, and had strong mechanisms in their jaw to do this. As people liked the look of them as a decoration they gradually changed to be ornamental rather than functional but you can still buy the occasional one that does the job. Also, they were given to people to ward away evil spirits and are symbols of good luck in an old German tradition.
sorry to derail the thread but thought some people might find it interesting!!

GoodIsGoodEnough · 02/11/2024 08:48

Can I ask how people get the decent codes for Argos (e.g. £10 off a £60 spend)? I got sent £7 off £75 which just doesn't have the same vibe 😂
Thanks!

rhubarbhandsoap · 02/11/2024 08:55

@GoodIsGoodEnough mine was for a new customer email sign up (you could sign up with a different email address).

Yeknom · 02/11/2024 08:56

Thanks so much for the microscope recommendation- ordered this morning :)

I need to get a camera that prints for a child that doesn't have a phone. Is Polaroid still the one to go for? Is it the instax mini? Any other recommendations? Thanks so much from a technophobe!

Donsyb · 02/11/2024 09:00

They’re a bit spendy, but Victoria Beckham beauty has a free mascara when you spend £75 (no code) this weekend and Jo Loves has free shipping until 31st December (no code).

Donsyb · 02/11/2024 09:02

For the poster who was after Elemis moisturiser, they have a gift set with the day and night cream for £140 plus a free gift with the code SKINBOOST

Justkeepsmilingx · 02/11/2024 09:11

Just reposting this for those asking for Argos codes…..

Just seen this on another site.
not sure if it’s already been posted but may help with a new email.
Argos have brought back the newsletter signup code £10 off £60, after temporarily running the promo for a few days earlier in the month. Terms states that it will run until 29/01/2025 so good for Black Friday period. Code comes through in a couple of minutes. Works on most things on site, excludes gift cards and wont work in conjunction with other codes.
