Thread 6 - the one with Otis and the Christmas miracle

1000 replies

Reastie · 18/10/2024 12:51

@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@fluffytail - that’s incredibly kind, can I ask if yours are gold or silver ?

No problem, I was going to give some as gifts but wasn't expecting the same ones three times! They're gold.

Nearlyadoctor · 18/10/2024 17:34

@fluffytail - my daughter only wears silver unfortunately, but thank you so much it was a really kind offer

bluesky · 18/10/2024 18:09

Got my personalised notebooks from Papier for older god daughters today, they are gorgeous, thanks for mentioning on here. I've put my referral code on the other thread where you get money off an order and I receive credit.

Thanks for EE mascara deal earlier today, perfect!

Can also recommend the Valentte diffusers, I know we were talking about their candles, but I like their diffusers, you can actually smell them. Their things are really well packaged and presented too.

Thanks to whoever posted about these, got these two for my girls stockings.. so cute! They were £2.99 from One Buy.

Could I have a link please? X

recklessgran · 18/10/2024 18:23

Please can somebody give me the link to the benefit mascara that the EE code works on - I can't seem to find the right gift set for the code. Thanks very much!

EvilHerbivore · 18/10/2024 18:36

Can anyone actually buy that Clarins gift set? Keeps not letting me check out...

recklessgran · 18/10/2024 18:49

@Talisin thank you so much that's perfect!

Think somebody might have been asking about Bloom Boutique at a time? Cute personalised jewellery, they have 22% off this weekend with code 'BIRTHDAY'.

That was me thank you so much, I had just decided to give in and get what I needed full price anyway. So pleased I saw this!

MammaRoly · 18/10/2024 19:12

@julietSierra just checked DS Liverpool shirt and I bought size 28 for him last year from Footballsbest4u for his 11th birthday. DS is average size for his age

halloweenscat · 18/10/2024 19:21

Added this to to old thread without realising it was virtually done 🙈

Might be too late for some but BLC stacks with Tu clothes online (Sainsbury's) so 35% off in total.

kpfragglesrock · 18/10/2024 19:26

@MamaK19

Another vote for soccer04. I've had a few kits for my kids from there and I've recently ordered the new Liverpool kits. Took 2 weeks from ordering to delivery.

IlovePond · 18/10/2024 19:55

Hi, 3 4 2 on Clinique at Boots today, plus Boots are giving away their summer beauty box with purchases over £80. (I didn’t get any extra points though😿)

@kpfragglesrock good to know thanks. Ds1 wants both home and away tops for Christmas

PinkPanther27 · 18/10/2024 20:20

@halloweenscat what's the BLC offer please? I've got a BLC but can't see any discount codes on the app except for a first order.

LePetitMaman · 18/10/2024 20:25

Would also like the link for the little jelly cat dupes

MamaK19 · 18/10/2024 20:30

Thanks all for the recommendations I officially have ordered from soccer04 will update when it’s arrived ☺️ love this thread 🥰

Hunnybadger1 · 18/10/2024 20:32

This could be a bit niche but can anyone see a great deal on a Love Actually edition of Monopoly?

WideFootWelly · 18/10/2024 20:37

I'm on the lookout for classic board games...operation, crazy faces etc. Ideally at a discount, or just somewhere that does a good range where I might see ones I've forgotten. Suggestions welcome too!

We love a game, but I'm sick of setting up hungry hippos

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 18/10/2024 20:43

@WideFootWelly B&M usually have a good choice of games (originals and copies)

@Hunnybadger1 Zatu have it for just under £24 (not sure what the normal price is)

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 18/10/2024 20:46

@WideFootWelly might not be what you want but also 2 for £12 on B&M games

Yeknom · 18/10/2024 20:52

@WideFootWelly what age range are you thinking of? Funny bunny is fun.

Don't forget to look in charity shops too - usually some bargains!

ThreeB · 18/10/2024 20:53

If you have an adult Lego lover in your life, the Lego Chewbacca and Captain America Shield are both reduced to £125 on the Lego website. Still a hefty price but I've been watching Chewy for a while and this is the lowest he has been.

halloweenscat · 18/10/2024 20:54

@PinkPanther27 if you go on the BL app and search 'tu clothing' it will come up with a page saying 10% off, press 'request code' or similar wording and it will say 'copied to clipboard' then paste it into the area in the checkout process which doesn't say BLC it says something like 'promo codes'.

Hope that works, say if it doesn't and I'll try to explain a different way 😊
