@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Can anyone recommend a safe potions kit for kids? I'm sceptical of buying one from Amazon as want it to be all safe ingredients

Also, I have a few free photo calendar codes for photobox I won from the McDonald's monopoly if anyone would like them, have to pay delivery still and can't be used together to order more than one in one transaction.

I also have a discount code for virgin experience days if useful to anyone!

Youth and wild do lovely kits and they are a nice independent

Slater22 · 22/10/2024 21:17

Random and not very Christmassy…. But I am sure I read on pre threads a recommendation for kitchen scissors! Is that familiar to anyone else please?

PlanBea · 22/10/2024 21:20

I'm sure someone on here was asking about teapigs advent calendar? I spotted it today in TK Maxx for £8.99 and they were stacked up (MetroCentre). Also lots of Peugeot pepper mills including quite tall ones!

@Slater22 they were kitchen aid ones from Amazon but price is around £10 now, think they were reduced to around £7?

I think this is the set we have. It came in a tin. We picked it up in a charity shop

Free personalised Christmas labels, only need to pay £3 postage. I have used this company for years and really love the labels!

https://www.tinyme.co.uk/exclusive-christmas-labels

I've just looked at these (also did the name labels) and you can add more labels at a low cost. 24 stickers is free plus £3 postage, 48 stickers is £2 plus £3 postage. Great deal.

I also have a £10 off boden voucher, doesn’t look like it has a minimum spend. Let me know if you’d like it and I’ll PM over.

Would love if possible
please x

Ah that is a much better idea... I just used two different email addresses to get £48 for £6!

@Mads96 I can recommend The Potion Lab. thepotionlab.co.uk all safe and handmade in the UK. I seem to remember when I signed up to the newsletter I got a 10% off code. I got the rainbow one for my daughter and she loves it!! It's a small business so sometimes the one you want is our of stock but if you wait a few days/a week she restocks. I follow them on socials where she's pretty active with updates etc.

Could I please have one of the photo box calendar codes if that's ok? Id love to do one 😊

@PlanBea oh that was me! I’m going into town tomorrow so I’ll check out tkmax. Thank you!
if they don’t have any in my local store I’ve been sent a referral code so either way it looks like my Neice will be getting a teapigs advent calendar 😀
And that’s why I love the power of mumsnet

PlanBea · 22/10/2024 22:21

@Beautifulsunflowers good luck! It was in with the tea rather than the advent calendars if that helps!

Perfect thank you! I knew it had soccer in it but couldn't remember exactly from last year.

I am real life shopping this week at last so hoping to spot some bargains.

44PumpLane · 22/10/2024 22:31

@Mads96 please may I have a photobox code if you still have one spare? Would be a great addition to grandparents Christmas gift!

44PumpLane · 22/10/2024 22:32

Also, not sure if anyone has bought one yet and if they are any good, but I noticed Amazon have the Furby Furblets for £7.50 in a lot of the colours.....might be a nice little additional gift for younger kids.

The kitchen aid scissors went down to £4 on Black Friday last year. Worth watching out for again this year.

lingmerth · 22/10/2024 22:37

Amazon have £10 off the Peppa Pig camper van at the moment. Currently £39.99

Ladybaga · 22/10/2024 22:41

@Mads96 I would also love a Photobox calendar code if you have any left? Thank you!

I second The Potion Lab great kits that are easily refilled at home. They come really well packaged got my son one for his birthday and he loved it. Very messy though!
