Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Just wondering if you ladies could point me in the right direction.
I'm putting together a pamper type package for a male recipient. He gets eczema-like dry skin around his eyes, especially in the winter but refuses to invest, or even try, a decent skincare regime. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good moisturiser or anything that is safe to use around the eyes?
Edited to add: preferably under £10 as I still have quite a bit to add for him, but willing to go over that if it's a very good one!

Edited

@issantahereyet my son has suffered from really dry skin around his eyes in the winter for a few years. After trying various suggestions from pharmacy & GP which all seemed to irritate him further, I ended up going to Holland & Barrett to see if they had any alternatives.
They recommended this balm which he found much more soothing & didn’t cause any irritation. It also lasted for ages

Natural skincare products for all

Skincare creams, oils and salves to soothe and maintain skin. Products also suitable for eczema, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and allergy rashes.

This is the one I like best - I have psoriasis on my face and it keeps the parts not needing steroid treatment at bay.

Morning lovelies,
I was wondering if anyone has spotted the lego bonsai tree for cheaper than £35?
My daughter wants to getnit for her teacher for christmas- but as between my kids there are 6 teachers I really don't want to be spending that kind of money on all of them. Happy to spend a tiny bit more on her teacher as he has had to put the work in but any cheaper would be great!!

Topcashback have 15% cashback today for toy purchases at Very, where the Lego Bonsai tree is discounted to £35.99, so that would take it to around £30, with free click and collect if the order is £30+.

Alternatively there are a few 'fake' Lego options:
e.g. this one at OnBuy for £24.99 with free delivery; or
this one at AliExpress for £6.35 with free delivery

Thanks for the Solace jewellery link. Mine arrived (treat for me!) I got the same as the pic above (hoops, blue and orange studs) they are nice. I dont know about others but only pair came in a pouch for me. The others card/cellophane

There's 20% off I think everything at mint velvet with code MV20

For dry eyes I use clinique moisture surge. Not cheap but a great moisturiser!

Does anyone have any experience with mini fridges? Think I've found the one I want but are they OK for leaving on all the time or is that not the point of them?

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/10/2024 15:19

@woodwaj We leave our mini fridge on 247, we use it for ds milk (he has health issues so still has overnight special milk at almost 6)... Had the fridge for 3 years I think, it's never turned off and doing fine.

Edit - it's just a cheap little blue one, designed for cans I think?

woodwaj · 11/10/2024 15:57

@Blessedbethefruitz brilliant thank you! He's not I to gaming and growing out of toys so this seems the middle ground! (Is very much into snacking 🙄)

We also have this one which is great! However it needs to be really quite dark to use and you need a pretty blank wall. You shoot targets on the wall rather than each other like the last one I posted. So summer months maybe doesn’t get used as much but my kids love it. I also only paid around £35 for it. It does go on offer sometimes
