Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Flubadubba aww glad you saw my post. Thanks again! I wouldn't say it's worth £35 but its standard for things like this isn't it. However for £6 odd and just a random gift to add to her pile, it's such a success! My eldest has also been playing with it for ages too 😂

hby9628 · 18/10/2024 08:22

@elb1504 thanks. I always forget to check my EE. Just ordered. Looks like a nice little set.

paintyhands · 18/10/2024 08:25

Thanks for the benefit code, I’ve just ordered - perfect for my skincare and make-up obsessed tween! For those of you taking advantage of the TU 25% off, remember that if you have an Argos code you could stack the discounts. I’ve just ordered some PJs and school uniform for DS - I don’t currently have an Argos code but I’m pretty sure it would work.

paintyhands · 18/10/2024 08:38

A couple of £10 Artful boxes on offer through the Ohh Deer newsletter. Sorry but I don’t think I can link it.

Vodafone rewards is a gruum autumn bundle again if anyone would like my code?

Tbf whilst the actual bundle is definitely not worth £60 my free gift was a full size vitamin C serum which I was quite chuffed about. Must just be the luck of the draw

The EE £10 Benefit Mascara is back on at the moment- code EEMASCARA.

How do you get this please? Do you go through EE or the benefit website? How do you know which one? Many thanks.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 18/10/2024 08:53

My Oanie lucky dip slippers also arrived yesterday. They are lovely but have several marks on the soles. I've a feeling they are returns Confused

SpottyBumPony · 18/10/2024 09:00

In Valnette, can you combine the free diffuser on sign up with the free diffuser or candle for orders over £50?

BarryKentPoet · 18/10/2024 09:12

LePetitMaman · 18/10/2024 07:22

Can confirm the gruum bundles are a con. Tiny less than travel size looking samples.

"Worth £60 plus a free gift" they claimed on the last one. It's worth about £2.50...& the free gift? One of those vouchers for wine or beer that you have to subscribe to, you know the ones you always get tucked in magazines or junk mail.

My Gruum bundles have always been quite decent and the free gift has never been a wine voucher for me. Definitely not worth £60 but definitely worth more than tehepostage costs. I had some full size products and some smaller ones.

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 18/10/2024 09:17

I'd love a Gruum code, if possible please?
I use it to fill an advent calendar for my DM

On the benefit site you add the "Lashes for Real" set to your basket (£27 plus p&p) then add the promotional code EEMASCARA and it takes it to £10 plus p&p.

I just ordered for a tween who is into make up bits to go in for her Christmas gift.

ETA not sure if it works on other mascaras!

I agree. I keep seeing gruum offers on here as if theyre a really good deal but even just paying p&p is a waste of money. I've fallen for it twice now. Both times the products have been awful and gone straight in the bin. The facial soap bar in particular is unusable. The packaging is awful as well. No way you could gift them.

Maharajah20 · 18/10/2024 09:30

@44PumpLane many thanks! Ordered a set. Great bargain.

Me too. I missed out on the last deal so really pleased to get one. Great little gift for a tenner!

I can recommend Bear Burners candles if you’re looking for natural candles.
They’re a small family firm and all their products are handmade and stunning.
They have a website and also are on Tik Tok where you can get special offers and discounts.
Absolutely unique and beautiful candles, perfect for a special gift. The only trouble is, they are so beautiful you don’t want to burn them😂

I’m another gruum fan. The hand cream, razors and face oil are particularly good.

Superdrug are offering 15% of all fragrances online today only. This gets auto applied at checkout and works with perfumes and aftershaves that are already on offer

The Bear candles look amazing. Another candle shop i'd really recommend is The Candle Rooms. The shop itself is two minutes from my house.....it's one of the most beautiful little shops I've ever seen..and the smell just walking past is divine. You can order online ....in the menu section click on The Reading Room. The candles there are based on famous books. Perfect for book lovers and candle lovers alike.

Our M&S has an early learning centre concession tucked behind the kids section and this looks like that to me.

Yes, that would make sense.

Department stores are closing, but M&S is looking increasingly like one.

SweetPeaPods · 18/10/2024 10:52

Can't say I'm too impressed with decathlon. Ordered a few bits for ds on 11th. Currently says expect delivery from 22nd so worth bearing in mind if you order anything.

Nearlyadoctor · 18/10/2024 11:00

Thank you for the Benefit code, just ordered 2 sets one for me as need a new mascara and one for Dd 17 stocking.

Any book loving recipients out there may appreciate this new hardcover version of House of Leaves, think it's a special UK edition as I've read Americans asking how to get their hands on one:

Oh thank you! I have just snapped up a Reading Room set for my DD. How fantastic to support a small business in NI. Thrilled.
