Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I have things in my basket too @AmeliaEarache 😹

Pandagram · 11/10/2024 11:39

I’m slightly frustrated at my Solace order, I know it said you could receive duplicates but I got three and they are identical!

Oh bugger, @IlovePond - now all attempts at budgeting will be undermined by wanting to buy everything in the Penhaligon sale.

Yes. I feel your pain and totally blame the lovely but enabling Pond Grin

Ceejadess · 11/10/2024 11:49

Has anyone any experience with the Hyper Mega Tech Super Pockets? Soon to be 8 year old is in to retro games and this has been suggested but out of my comfort zone!

You are right @Qwerty21 - they only had the proper boxes in store.

On an unbargainous bargain note: Penhaligons sale is on:

For those liking beaded jewelry I ordered from the clearance section of Theonebuttonshop yesterday and they arrive today. They are really lovely and I was very happy withe the price. They also have sale on their silver jewelry too. I did order as present for me though and not a gift 🙈

Primark is very good price wise for individual bath bombs and fizzers, starting at about a £1 up to £2 each and a good size too.

Restlessinthenorth · 11/10/2024 12:38

Argh was ready to dispose of some cash on penhaligons but halfeti sold out, which is the only one I know my other half likes! Damn

Does anyone know the difference between the metal options with Solace Jewellery? Gold/Gold 2 & Silver/Silver 2/Silver 3? Is it just the style option maybe?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 11/10/2024 13:00

Thank you, just bought the Nigel Slater book for my son! (Might just have to give it a quick quality-check read before he gets it though).

ImTheMidsomerMurderer · 11/10/2024 13:03

@Restlessinthenorth Hi, I have 2 sons, 17 and 22. My 17yr old is 6ft 2 with a 26in waist. He wears Medium in all those brands. My 22yr old is 5ft 10 32in waist and he wears a large in them. Hope this helps.

Restlessinthenorth · 11/10/2024 13:06

@ImTheMidsomerMurderer thank you! I'm wondering if I might get away with men's XS!

IggyAce · 11/10/2024 13:11

Checking in.

redjoker · 11/10/2024 13:12

Yalz · 11/10/2024 13:26

Several threads ago someone was interested when I said that it this past I had bought Penhaligons lip balms for £3. I can’t remember who it was, but they might be interested in the sale @IlovePond mentioned, with lip balms for £5 each.

Dolphintrainer · 11/10/2024 13:34

Sephora has 20% off most things on their App only until 2pm, so be quick! Good for Sol de Janeiro etc!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 11/10/2024 13:39

So got a gift set and a lip balm tin for DH in Penhaligons sale plus some free samples. Very excited although a bit of a risk as I have no idea what the scent will be like knowing my luck toilet cleaner.

Thanks to pp for link Grin

issantahereyet · 11/10/2024 13:53

Just wondering if you ladies could point me in the right direction.
I'm putting together a pamper type package for a male recipient. He gets eczema-like dry skin around his eyes, especially in the winter but refuses to invest, or even try, a decent skincare regime. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good moisturiser or anything that is safe to use around the eyes?
Edited to add: preferably under £10 as I still have quite a bit to add for him, but willing to go over that if it's a very good one!

runningpink · 11/10/2024 13:58

I have a one off 20% discount code for Dock &Bay valid until 22 October.

PM me if you would like the code

Silver 3 😊

BananaWoman999 · 11/10/2024 14:04

Not very Christmassy but I have 3 codes for 50% off a Fussy Deodorant if anyone wants to give them a go! (Or gift them!)
