Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@laura1711 it is, last time I brought it I got it for £26 from Superdrug and I thought that was a bargain.

tabbycat985 · 11/10/2024 18:08

@weareallqueens I can't see if anyone else replied to this but Very have this with an extra 10% off with code W74OV but then TopCashback have a huge 15% back

My Silver3 bundle was identical to this, I also got the kids bundle which was little silver bees, gold hoops and a smaller version of the blue crystal stud

Another one with this identical bundle. Bit disappointed as none are to my taste but I guess that's the risk with mystery buys, and it was under a tenner delivered so not a big loss

Not sure it's been mentioned earlier but Revolution skin care is having Freaky Friday - lots of stuff for £5 www.revolutionbeauty.com/uk/en/sale/promo

Thank you! Lots of lovely stuff winging its way to me for DD (and perhaps for me…… oops)

okayhescereal · 11/10/2024 18:56

It doesn't work for me just watching, I always go to the 'im on' page not the watching and then wandering why the thread has suddenly gone quiet. Because you're all over here 😅

Had nephew (4) and niece (5) Christmas requests today for a laser gun game and a magic fairy wand - we do ss for both mine and DWs family’s so max budget about £40 each and want it to be decent as will be only present from Aunties/Uncles they will get - any ideas please? Anyone seen anything that looks really great? Thanksssss

For the fairy wand request, maybe a Fairycorn toy, @MamaK19 - it’s a cuddly toy but the wings, wand and tiara can be worn by the child. We don’t have this (yet…) but the similar Rainbocorns are great:
Fairycorn with dress-up wings and wand
currently 30% off in the Argos red sale

Not very Christmassy but I have 3 codes for 50% off a Fussy Deodorant if anyone wants to give them a go! (Or gift them!)

Yes please

evtheria · 11/10/2024 19:51

@MamaK19
We also have 'Laser X' toys previously mentioned. Ours looks like the 'morph double' model in a long black box.
It came as a set of 2 guns, but you can fold one up to make it a target if you don't have 2 kids playing. It's pretty fun but did take some figuring out how to set up when using the target mode.

issantahereyet · 11/10/2024 19:52

Thanks all so much for the suggestions for moisturisers and such! Will be having a look through them all 😊

evtheria · 11/10/2024 19:55

Poundland had Hot Wheels fingerboards for £2.50 each.
Currently the hot item in Y6 at my DC's school, really pleased to find them at this price, the cheapest I'd seen was £4 at The Entertainer. Yet another 90s toy I should have kept for the future! 🤣

The new Nigel Slater book, A Thousand Feasts, is down to £10 on Amazon from £20.

Thanks for this. Love a nigel slater book and this is a bargain for a beautiful hardback.

Amazing thanks @User170451 I reckon the first one will fit the bill perfectly!! 🥳🥳

Look fantastic have Armani He 50ml for £22.80 Link It’s one of my dh favourites, all credit to him he found this bargain.

Also bought it! Hopefully DH will like it- he's been pondering a new scent lately. Fingers crossed!

PolliFlinders · 11/10/2024 20:38

Thanks @possumcat for the foco heads up. Got a nice stocking filler for my son

stimpy1 · 11/10/2024 21:00

Yippee! I can post again. MNHQ are brilliant.💖

Fancyateapottea · 11/10/2024 21:35

Thanks for the recommendations for the toomies barista bath toy. Managed to get it at Argos with a £5 off code and then used my nectar points to get it for £2.50!

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 11/10/2024 21:39

Massive, HUGE thanks to the pp/pps who mentioned Thin Optics in the last thread! My DH annoys the life out of me (in general also,) asking me to read instructions and other small writing. I risked buying the strongest ones they had... Was wary about them coming from America and it being £20+ wasted if I got it wrong... But no. It's like he's been given sight again! 'Unreal', 'That's crazy how good they are!' and other mutterings were heard as he picked anything up nearby to read out the small print! Also, I don't think I even realised this when I ordered, they fit in a small case that attaches to the back of his phone. One of the best punts I've taken from these threads ❤️

Perhaps the goddess of impulse shopping is saving me from myself, but I've tried with my phone and laptop and neither will let me checkout with my sales choices.

NotMeekNotObedient · 11/10/2024 21:55

@isissantahereyet The Cerave Eye Repair Cream is fab for eczema prone eyes and at about that price point.

Spaceracers · 11/10/2024 22:06

Would the bath barista work for a 4 year old? We don't actually have many bath toys for my youngest as over time they've all been used / binned / lost over the years by the eldest!

Often we just use normal toys in the bath!
