Thread 4 - the one with our Guylian best before fate

Reastie · 05/10/2024 19:23

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 09/10/2024 14:39

MayaTheBusyBee · 09/10/2024 13:32

Is Gruum some sort of money laundering scheme? They seem to be giving stuff away all the time…

free bundle for English Heritage members…

There's a free bundle on offer for Railcard holders too.

Strange business model to continually offer free stuff unless the products are so good it brings them lots of repeat (paying) customers.

Montanna15 · 09/10/2024 14:43

@DirtyDensDog yes please I have a £65 spend if it hasn't already gone!

Montanna15 · 09/10/2024 14:44

I've just bought the Only curls one. It's a towel with a button and elastic loops so you can turn it into a turban. It's beautifully soft and thick, and so absorbent.

It's £18 and although you'd have to pay postage, there's £5 off your first order if you sign up.

@Ilovechristmasfalalalalalala

I got one from here years ago and its lovely, lasted really well and i still wear it all the time. It looks like i got 25% off so may be worth searching for a discount code

I’ve tried their stuff from the Vodafone bundle and skin feels lovely afterwards! The hair & body wash is amazing. Little bit goes a long way!

Weird one- Looking for some inspiration for gifts for a greenhouse. Have been asked for something for a new greenhouse. I know they have a potting table but nothing else in it at all. Not so much seeds but storage things maybe? I have no idea at all not being green fingered!

Elpheba · 09/10/2024 15:03

Does anyone’s small person have the Melissa and Doug carry along stable (fits 8 horses in) and know if it fits in Schleich unicorns? That’s all DD would want to use it for so I only want to get it if it would work!

Something so they can make a cup of tea out there?

That's useful to know @Ilovepugs2017 and I'll add it to my ever growing list to try.

I do like that they're a small British business with their products made in the UK too.

If anyone wants a Lucy and yak code i can send you my link to have 25% off including outlet items! I used someone’s referral code on the referrals thread last night and because I bought only outlet items I managed to get 3 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of dungarees with free delivery for £62.50! Very pleased as I’ve been after some Lucy and yak dungarees for ages!

I would love this if you still have it please?

No, as somebody kindly shared their Vodafone code (I can’t use rewards for my work Vodafone number) & it was only postage I paid for, I felt it couldn’t really complain. I will definitely use the bottle of shower gel / hair wash as it smells wonderful.

Oh funny enough mine came today with all of the bundle in

shinny · 09/10/2024 16:16

Not very Christmassy, but does anyone know of any good deals on a DriBuddi? I see Amazon currently have some discount but if I can get better than that, it'd be great! Has to be the JML one though!
