Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Lego Simba (the smaller one) is £10 at Asda. Nice little set for any younger lego fans (it's 6+)

I've bought some in peacocks before and they are surprisingly good quality. I can't remember the exact cost but much cheaper than the likes of next etc.

Givealittlebit · 25/09/2024 22:42

@psuedocream3 haven't got up to date yet so not sure if you've had responses but local Home bargains has loads of beetle juice bits in atm!

I’ve given up on delivered matching PJ’s, too expensive or not the right size.
this year I have bought matching T-shirts, children's. (Well, very nearly grown up children) in white and 2 adults in black.

I will look for Christmas style bottoms nearer the date.
much cheaper, just thought I’d add the idea.

Fuckingfuckssake · 25/09/2024 23:36

Could anyone possibly pm me a Unidays code for Feel Unique? Please and thank you.

Asda had them. Men's sizes had gone quickly but they may restock.

cloudengel · 26/09/2024 01:52

There seem to be a few different matching PJ options on the Tu website

The website seems to be down for maintenance atm, otherwise I would give you the link.

OOS online, but our local The Works had lots of their Tarot/Oracle cards and book sets in their sale

I've bought from primark and matalan in the past. Both decent enough quality. But now I just get matching tshirts and then the same coloured pj bottoms/ leggings joggers as we all like different styles.

MerylSqueak · 26/09/2024 06:40

Bears v Babies is down to £10.83 on Amazon.

peasando · 26/09/2024 06:42

I'm still on our bargain £2 Primark Christmas PJs from 3 years ago. Me and DH are in the same ones and in January every year I buy the next size up kids ones from Vinted ready for the next year! It's worked so far...

Crimsonbow · 26/09/2024 06:55

@Eaglefree we have the stereotypical Pikler triangle - got ours from a UK based etsy seller. It was not cheap but great quality and cheaper than the original. It still gets played with at 7 and 4.

Youngest also got this balance beam set for their second Christmas from Decathlon and it's still played with. It was £25 back then but a not so bargainous £40 now. Balance beam

In relation to this, Lidl had the mint version in when I was there this morning. I'm sure people were hunting them down last year or the year before.
