Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I've just done the same @Turtleoo It only applies to games that have a banner on them saying 25% off

Ah thanks. That's annoying. Thought I was going to get some of the things on my list at a bargain

OnionBag · 25/09/2024 12:27

I had to stop myself at just that.. now I'm regretting not buying a few bits to pop away for birthdays next year and for me

Londonmummy66 · 25/09/2024 13:04

Not necessarily bargainous but the online V&A shop is usually worth the half an hour or so it takes to browse all 750 items.... I scored a big hit last year with soe of their stuff although it was mostly the no longer available Chanel exhibition merch. However beyond the usual museum fare of tea towels scarves and notelets they have some interesting books and prints for adults and children, art/sewing stuff suitable for stocking fillers and a less eye-watering than expected range of semi precious jewellery.

Hot wheels garage £50 on Amazon I think similar to the HOF ones?

It's showing as £80 for me, could you do a link please?

VeruccaSalty · 25/09/2024 13:25

@eaglefree was it this one?

Just seen some bargain toys and other gifts in Farmfoods (of all places!)

32 piece rainbow geomag tiles set £5.99, seems to be around £20 Online. I know these have been mentioned a lot on here recently!
Large Yankee candles £13.99 each or two for £20 various smells
Wooliee hoodie blankets £9.99 each- ours had navy, light grey, pink, dark red and a green panda print. They're on their website for £85 each (!) but all showing as sold out.

Some toys that were a bit cheaper than online-
Tech Deck transforming skate park pipe £9.99
Sylvanian families sunshine nursery bus £7.99
Mega Barbie Colour Reveal Dreamhouse £19.99
Megabloks paw patrol liberty vehicle £4.99

Thank you for this. Just picked up the geomags. My teen will be confused, and then will sit there fiddling with them.
i also picked up some stocking fillers in there
the mug pudding packets
smores pop tarts
smores cereal
barratt sweets milk shake straws,

Has anyone any White Company codes available please? 🙏 The one I had has expired.

I've had an email saying my whistlefish stuff is coming today, I can't wait after reading posts of those of you who have received!

DeathStarCanteenGal · 25/09/2024 14:28

@PumpkinSpicedTea this gives 15% off full priced items, if it helps?

In previous years George at Asda has had a number of clothing type deals where you got 2 for £x on packs of pants and socks or t-shirts. I always add in some needed stuff into stockings like this as it pads them out and oddly my teenagers always ask for them.
Does anyone know if this will happen again? It's definitely applied the last 2 years when I have stocked up for Christmas

PumpkinSpicedTea · 25/09/2024 14:37

@DeathStarCanteenGal thank you so much that is a massive help. The item I needed wasn't in the sale! X

Kind of a bargain, but more of an idea. These jars are £2.99 in home bargains- some others with elf hats. I’m doing them for teacher gifts and have filled with Christmas chocs inside. (You could put something baked inside but I feel individually wrapped things are safer!)

I was in B&M today and saw these wonders:

Harry Potter Hot Chocolate cones, in either Griffindor, Slytherine, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw variety...

...and the hot chocolate apparently changes colour when you stir it!!

PurpleSkittle · 25/09/2024 18:35

My other B&M bargain finds are these family calendars for £3.50 (I've had some from The Works for the past couple of years but the hanging hole has ripped through in a really annoying way). These B&M ones have a sturdy metal hanging piece and just seem more robust overall.

Thanks for this. Great gift for DD to give to her Harry Potter mad friends. (We have no idea about HP stuff; our favourite HP is sauce!)

dcadmamagain · 25/09/2024 19:52
