What would you leave out of your Christmas dinner?

I was debating this with a friend last night... If you had to leave out one element from your Christmas dinner, what would it be?

Choices are: Turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, brussels sprouts or gravy.

I love sprouts, so I'd get rid of the stuffing.

Sprouts. Vile things.

@Newuser75

Have you only had them boiled to within an inch of their lives??

cleaned up, coated in (olive) oil & roasted they are the food of the gods. Honest.

extra spectacular if off the stalk!!

did you not vote? Still showing 0% for brussel sprouts.

Nellieinthebarn · 01/12/2023 12:15

Turkey, it doesn't add much to be honest, it's all the other bits that make the Christmas flavour.

Pinkpinkpink15 · 01/12/2023 12:16

Turkey & pigs in blankets. I'm vegetarian & no desire to create vegetarian ones either, much prefer to squeeze in more BS & Roasties??

Rainbow1901 · 01/12/2023 12:16

Has to be Sprouts - though DH wouldn't be happy about it!! 😝

Barrythetimesprout · 01/12/2023 12:17

Sprouts. The vegetable of Satan.

Finestreason · 01/12/2023 12:17

Does Anyone really like turkey?

Dartmoorcheffy · 01/12/2023 12:17

The turkey. I love meat but I like all the other choices more.

Comedycook · 01/12/2023 12:17

Really dislike sprouts.

You do need a green veg imo....but there are far nicer ones than sprouts.... broccoli, cabbage, mange tout etc

TeddyBeans · 01/12/2023 12:17

Sprouts 🤢

FrenchandSaunders · 01/12/2023 12:18

How can roast potatoes be on that list!!!
Not fussed by pigs in blankets really.

FrenchandSaunders · 01/12/2023 12:18

I'm feeling faint imagining being served a Christmas dinner without roast potatoes 😂

YuliaJollyberry · 01/12/2023 12:19

Stuffing (and bread sauce ).

I could never get rid of roasties - One of the best bits!

Pigs in blankets. I'd rather have a nice chipolata.

Finestreason · 01/12/2023 12:19

Dartmoorcheffy · 01/12/2023 12:17

The turkey. I love meat but I like all the other choices more.

Just out of curiosity, do you eat it regularly?

I had considered buying some turkey breast slices but meh overtook me.

Nellieinthebarn · 01/12/2023 12:26

Although on reflection, and after an in depth conversation with DH, cold turkey sandwiches are a very important part of boxing day, as is turkey curry. So I want to change my vote to stuffing because it is similar in flavour as the sausages. Also I never know what to do with leftover stuffing as I don't like it cold.

OhNaffOffYouWazzock · 01/12/2023 12:30

From that list pigs in blankets, pork and chestnut stuffing gives the same flavours but better IMO

howlismoving · 01/12/2023 12:31

Pigs in blankets are so overrated!

Needmorelego · 01/12/2023 12:32

All of it. Don't like any of it with the except of pigs in blankets but tbh I would rather have the pig (sausage) with some mash and the blanket (bacon) in a sandwich.

FrangipaniBlue · 01/12/2023 13:03

Pigs in blankets.

Send all your sprouts my way please Grin

sandletown · 01/12/2023 13:10

Potatoes.

OldTinHat · 01/12/2023 13:12

@SleighYoullBeThere I'm with you! Ditch the stuffing, bring on extra sprouts!
