Right, I've been asked to get some Lego for three children 5/6/7 ages who are building a collection. I've never got Lego apart from my a general bucket of the stuff years ago. Should I buy the 'sets' - or are they too hard for that age? anywhere good for this kind of thing?
Everyone seems to love Lego except my family so don't know where to start. Budget is about 25 each

sorryiasked · 04/12/2023 07:43

@reastie nearly full up again

stillholly · 04/12/2023 07:45

If they are siblings maybe a general bucket to share and then a small set each? The creator 3 in 1 sets are good and often on offer or in the 2 for £15 in argos. Or can't go wrong with a city set. I would avoid characters unless you know what they are into.
Something like this (doubles as storage too!) 10698 Classic Large Creative Brick Storage Box Set, Building Toys for 4 Plus Year Old Kids, Boys & Girls, Construction Toy with Windows, Doors, Wheels and Green Baseplate amzn.eu/d/33VTEXF lego box
lego creator sets

I havent checked best prices so worth a shop around 😊

mens Levi T-shirt down to £9

villamariavintrapp · 04/12/2023 08:31

@stillholly the happy puzzle company is great. They had some great deals in hobby craft before-depending on location, and were in one of the argos 2 for ?£20 offers. Or there's usually a £5 off or 15% off code somewhere for their own website.

TheCrow · 04/12/2023 09:16

Know its already been mentioned but lidl have 50% off everything in the middle aisles starting today. They have heated throws, weighted blankets, tons of branded toys, kids Christmas pjs at £2.50 a pair, loads of really good bargains

I bought the £5 bottle of wine from Laithwaites and made an account
I added my refer a friend link to the bargain thread and shared at work
I have had 5 'successful' clicks and spends
This gives me 5 x £40 off codes
They can only be used one per basket
I had to call to use them because the scheme and codes are crap
I have placed 3 orders with them
2 x Hotel choc Hamper
1 x Biscuit hamper
over the phone he helped me by the unlimited delivery

Hotel choc £50 + £7 delivery - £40 = £17. At this point I signed up for free unlimited deliveries
Biscuit hamper £40 and free delivery - £40 = £0
Hotel choc hamper £50 free delivery - £40 voucher = £10

Total - £27

Still have 2 codes (2 x £40 to use)

How do you get the referral link? I bought the £5 wines and made an account but can't see a referral link anywhere to share.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 04/12/2023 09:36

Pink I received an email with my referral code to share shortly after ordering the mini wine bargain so hopefully it's on its way to your inbox

In your account settings there's a link to tbe scheme. I think if you also Google refer a freind Laithwaites it allows to you log in there and get your code

Apologies in advance for being cheeky, but I completely missed the Fahlo offer (thanks covid) and I know my dd would absolutely love a turtle one. If anyone has a spare one they don't want, please would you consider selling it to me? Ive had a look and the full price and postage is a bit too much right now. Really upset I missed the offer. As I said, I'm sorry for being a cheeky wotsit! Thanks.

I actually have a turtle (dd asked for a shark after I ordered) but I paid full price plus postage!!!

grinchfest · 04/12/2023 10:04

Thanks anyway @TherebytheGraceofGodgoI I appreciate you looking for me

grinchfest · 04/12/2023 10:09

Thanks @boobybum that might be a last resort but the price!

@Thelifeofawife that's a good idea I'll get everyone I know on that 😂

grinchfest · 04/12/2023 10:11

@Delahot great idea eBay never even crossed my mind thank you 🙏🏻

doctorboo · 04/12/2023 10:16

I chased up my order from Scout Store (3 x s’mores kits with burners) as it’d been a week and I was a bit 🤔 as I hadn’t received a dispatch email.
Apparently they’re no longer available - I’m going to check in a minute - I did get my money back, and was given a 20% money off code for my next order.
Now to see what’s available as one of my boys was desp for one, and I thought I’d done really well getting them for £10.62 each!

Beckafett · 04/12/2023 10:23

@redjoker try using chrome if you haven't already? Took me ages to find it!

Maxibon21 · 04/12/2023 10:38

Thank you that's great. I'll give it a look and see. DS is 12 and not very into books but he likes trying to create his own games so it might be worth a try.

Maxibon21 · 04/12/2023 10:41

Thanks to Raindancer411. Sorry don't post a lot and tried to reply to you.

BobbyandBertie · 04/12/2023 10:41

Are they any codes/vouchers around for Argos?
Need to spend just over £50 and any savings would be good!
I've not kept up with the threads for a week or 2, so a bit behind! Thanks

Reastie · 04/12/2023 10:48
