Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday | Mumsnet

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us! I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we...

The Bonne Maman advent calendar is down to £12.99 on Amazon - the last thing we need is another advent calendar but, of course, I’ve ordered it!

Would you mind linking 🙏as I can’t find it.

You need to go to the one that comes up as £30 and then look at ‘other sellers’ on the page, where it shows as 12.99 on prime (with a longer delivery date.).

BoopK · 02/12/2023 10:22

fishfingersandchipsagain · 02/12/2023 09:54

The big 20% discount is only available when you open a new credit account. You don’t have to use the credit account to pay, but you do have to apply, be accepted, and take on the account, which shows on your credit score. This is the reason I hadn’t done one previously, but I was making a large purchase and so for a £300 discount it was worth it to me.

Other than that, Quidco and TopCashBack are the only real options that I know of.

Thank you for this.

I suspect it's not worth it for a saving of £14, as much as it pains me to miss a discount 😅

Havana club 7 years dark rum can't be beaten in my eyes - currently on offer at sainsburys/nectar prices!

Thank you, I never would have managed that lol.
it states dispatch is 1 to 2 months though.

@Beckafett havent RTFT but personally, as someone who likes to dabble in gardening, those type of gift sets would go unused! The hand cream sounds great, and a voucher for their favourite gardening centre might be something that gets used more? Unless you know your mum needs anything that comes in those sets….and is a fan of matching patterned things…..? I’d much rather have something that really works / like a great pair of secateurs. Feel free to ignore me though 😂

I know what you mean, she only likes a certain brand of secateurs so I wouldn't get those but think I could get away with a fancy trowel set 😊

Wallaroo21 · 02/12/2023 10:28

Does anyone have stocking filler suggestions for a 10 week old and 19 month old? I don't want to spend much as obviously they're a bit young to understand really

BlackFlyChardonnay · 02/12/2023 10:38

Espresso martini hamper/gifts - has anyone seen anything good? I usually just buy a bottle of something for my bestie, but she's had the worst year. She says she misses going out for cocktails, she's pretty much chained to her house caring for her terminally ill mum right now.
She loves espresso martinis, so I was thinking a hamper relating to those would be fab for her to enjoy over the festive period. I've found one on hampers.com but it doesn't overwhelm me tbh. Any ideas?

CarrotCarrotCucumber · 02/12/2023 09:48

@KG1145 but people seem to be having mixed success on combining referral with other offers: fingers crossed it works for you.

Thanks! It didn't work unfortunately but I've ordered anyway. I ordered one of each but going to put them away and do one every so often with my son throughout the year. He's only six but loves drawing an it'll be a good opportunity to teach him about the artists to

Could some kind oerson please link the teenage boy idea thread please? I thought I had it bookmarked but I can't find it at all now.

I can’t link but it’s on the first page of the Christmas thread

RainbowZebraWarrior · 02/12/2023 10:41

Is the Fahlo deal finished? I ignored it completely, then realised they do shark bracelets. DD loves sharks and would be thrilled at the idea of tracking one.

blackfluffycat · 02/12/2023 10:44

clpsmum · 02/12/2023 08:26

I've had so many bargains this year! Thank you everyone on this thread you are all wonderful!

I've not had any. Actually paid more that I could have 😥😥

paintyhands · 02/12/2023 10:46

Ah sorry, I think the Bonne Maman calendar must have gone back up in price quite quickly after I ordered and posted here. I had it in my basket and spotted the price was down, so I didn’t have to search for other sellers and it’s due to be delivered on Monday. These bargains change so quickly!

blackfluffycat · 02/12/2023 10:47

chocolateisavegetable · 02/12/2023 08:46

I’ve started wrapping so I’ve been dragging everything out of drawers and cupboards. I seem to have some posca pens, which I know I bought because of this thread, but I have no idea who I thought I was buying them for 😂

I know I'm a grouch but this is something which winds me up about this thread. People buy things with a discount just for the sake of it. They get a buzz out of getting a deal but they don't want it need it. Not specifically you just people in general.

Sorry carry on 😂😬

Someaddedsugar · 02/12/2023 10:48

RJnomore1 · 02/12/2023 10:02

I’d go kraken or dead man’s fingers at that price. You’ll get both easily in the supermarket. Both nice.

Thanks so much!

RJnomore1 · 02/12/2023 10:48

@BlackFlyChardonnay I was sure Harvey Nichols did a hat box one and I had looked at it for DH but it’s not there now.

if you google espresso martini gift set quite a lot come up, this is cute, (some are mix your own some are pre bottled so maybe worth thinking about which type she would prefer)

It must be this one then? I thought it was specifically a stocking fillers thread that was being referred to, but this one has some great ideas. Thanks 😊

I would just put things they need/already own in for the 10 week old (& only if 19month old needs to see them getting something)

19month old - bath toys are cheap but fun, bath crayons, board book, bubbles (if they'll be happy for them to be opened/blown by an adult!!), & not cheap but traditional here was a wooden animal from ostheimer (I have teens now & the animals are still beautiful after years of play)

RJnomore1 · 02/12/2023 11:01

baby stocking fillers - socks, toothbrush, chocolate for the older one, a squeaky toy, a bath toy?

I got a lovely cocktail hamper for my birthday. It was all the ingredients, little jam jar glasses, recipe cards and adornments do you want me to go see where it was from?

Karlkennedyslovechild · 02/12/2023 11:16

M&S do a cocktail hamper with tins of their pre-made cocktails?
Maybe add some nice glasses to drink them out of. Making a cocktail for yourself from scratch might be too much hassle. I’m lazy though!

BlackFlyChardonnay · 02/12/2023 11:17

@clpsmum yes please, if it isn't too much hassle!

OhRightyThen · 02/12/2023 11:19

Thanks for the fossil codes. I used them to buy my sister a watch for her 40th next year. A watch which should have been £129 full price has come down to around £19 (I added some earrings to get the two items for 50% off). Hope it comes 😊

OhRightyThen · 02/12/2023 11:20

Oh and cashback has tracked via TCB!

I've just completed my Christmas shopping and would like to thank everyone on these threads for their contributions, much appreciated.

Special thanks to the posters who provided Amazon links to the endoscope cameras, the bargain B&H men's gift sets, and the Erborian BB cream, plus the QVC Elemis set.
