Sorry if this has already been discussed but what was todays offer in the John Lewis app? It has an error message when I try to view it

I don’t know if everyone’s was the same, but mine was a free tiny mascara.

anyone that can suggest some stocking fillers for a child with suspected adhd!? Thanks.

lemonsmum · 02/12/2023 03:24

@WheresMrMonkey I ended up getting my DD 11 a rucomfy one off Argos. They have there own site and are on Amazon too. I found the cheapest way to get it was Argos at the time though. I've not took it out the very large box but looks like the size I wanted bigger than the ones Dunelm have in store.

Age of child?

queenoftheglee · 02/12/2023 05:13

Thanks to those on the last thread who helped in my quest to replace the glass baubles. I should be able to collect a yoga santa from tiger tiger next week, but the search for Santa in a fire engine continues (can't be any other vehicle.)....

Next question, bread maker recommendations? Am I likely to find a bargain anywhere?

I sadly don't have any bargains to offer, other than to say keep using those cash back sites. I managed to order a brand new oculus for the grand total of £9 alongside the cash back that I had earned this year!

Someaddedsugar · 02/12/2023 05:46

20% off John Lewis own brand towels and bedding with MYHOME20

I’ve ordered fiddle toys from Temu for my DD with ADHD. Theres also some fiddle toy boxes for £5 from the works which are nice

Someaddedsugar · 02/12/2023 06:09

@RJnomore1 would you be able to recommend a spiced gin please if that isn't too cheeky to ask x

LoopyGremlin · 02/12/2023 06:15

Thanks @Nowdontmakeamess

I need some ideas for SIL - they recently went to Japan for a holiday and loved it (SIL has also been learning Japanese for a while, though loosely, with Duolingo). I asked my brother but he's a bit rubbish with present ideas 😅 he linked this website: https://thelineahome.nl/ but there's such a range of things, I don't really know where to start!

Can anyone help? 🙏

TheBigFish · 02/12/2023 07:02

My John Lewis yesterday was the free mascara too. I already had one I was using from a previous Charlotte Tilbury purchase and it is really good, I think, for something so tiny. Picked mine up yesterday in store, had to show the count down you activate in the app to the lady on the counter. I'm going to use it for the crackers I'm making, have kept lots of free mini samples this year for this. Although I think the mascara might make it's way into my cracker for sure!

I don't know other thingy browsers things 😅

Me neither!! It's working this morning xx

Summerdew · 02/12/2023 07:26

@TheBigFish how do you activate the countdown? I’ve opened the door but no idea how to get the “clock” to start running. Thank you

Holidayqueen1 · 02/12/2023 07:43

Thanks for all your help so far everyone. Missed out on the giant love hearts after trying a laptop, mobile and MacBook, don’t know what I was doing wrong but never mind!
not sure whether this fire engine decoration is any good? fire engine

I'm nearly done but wondered if you could help with the following please
joint present for our best friends for around £30- previous gifts have included games, recipe books and I have no idea this year! We go on holiday with them and their son and off to Mexico next year on a road trip- wondered if we could get them something related to this?

husband- notoriously difficult to buy for, he’s starting a new job in the new year and will be commuting into London. He’s really into mountain biking but has more stuff than one person needs for this, Enjoys craft beers and have bought him a beer brewing experience in the past which went down well. He’s had a tough year and would like to show him how much we love him. Doesn’t need to cost a fortune and don’t want too buy things unnecessarily but if anyone has any amazing ideas I’d be really grateful.

thanks so much and sorry for the long link, I even read the instructions and think I’ve still got it wrong!

Holidayqueen1 · 02/12/2023 07:44

Omg I managed a short link!!! Thanks for the instructions @reastie !!!

dizzygirl1 · 02/12/2023 07:44

I was lucky and managed to get 2 white stuff sock calenders for my DC, they absolutely love the calendar and it may be better than than their chocolate and lego calendars! DS 14 has come down and opened his socks and put them on already! dd 16 yesterday saw the calendar and bounced to open it!

The socks are brilliant, such good quality and fun!

TheBigFish · 02/12/2023 08:06

@Summerdew there was a button to click, I can't remember what it said though sorry. It starts a 12 hour countdown which you have to show to the staff to redeem it, I guess to stop people sharing screenshots maybe?

Itsbeginningtolookalotlike · 02/12/2023 08:15

Thanks @Thelifeofawife I hadn't heard of them before. I'll check it out.

Chocolateteabag · 02/12/2023 08:24

@MrsChristiesChristmasCake how about a sushi making set - this one has Japanese brands (I used to live there a looong time ago)
The website also sells lots of other things like sake sets too

bizzey · 01/12/2023 23:50

@Beckafett
So sorry for your loss.
The 1st Christmas is hard , especially as so recent.

My mum was 4 months after losing my dad when we had Christmas and a little present I did for her was an old photo of her and my dad when they were younger and had it framed.

My dad was quite disabled when he died ...and it was lovely to have a picture of them when he was standing with no aids or wheelchair and stuff.

Sorry if I am going down the wrong track 🌹

Awww thank you I totally get it, my dad was the same. I actually did similar for their 50th wedding anniversary last year and got theor wedding pics restored; I think I'll do this for her birthday which is after Christmas of another nice one. Hope you and your mum are okay x
