Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday | Mumsnet

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us! I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we...

Ok got the Swizzells for 99p and free P&P when I used the pc rather than my phone.

Next problem -I've already bought the make up drawers bulk-it-out option for teenager girls from Debenhams - what's the teenage boy equivalent?

@LudicrousSexFudge what's the swizzells deal please?

The scout store has 30% off the NASA range with code MERRY, for those who missed out on the naked marshmallows s’mores sets/ didn’t subscribe. Looks like it’s an advent promotion so more deals to come over the coming days. Bought a couple of T-shirts for space-nut DH but some nice stuff in the kids range too!

I can’t find a way round the £3.99 p&p though…

https://shop.scouts.org.uk/ranges/featured-ranges/nasa?utm_source=Scout%20Shops%20Ltd%20%28shops%29&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=14237296_1%3A%20Daily%20Deals&utm_content=Daily%20Deals&dm_i=1SYI,8H5KG,4VNDHX,Z0TOZ,1

I bought several things from their NASA range for DS and they are all such good quality. I got keyrings, badges, a hoodie and a T-shirt and am really impressed.

I had already bought similar from Amazon and will send it back as the scout stuff is half the price and easily twice the quality.

There is a banging thread for older teenage boy stocking gifts running atm if you have a look in this section. Crimpits v popular but not that big. I got mine a loo brush after seeing his toilet at the end of his tenancy at uni this year 🤢😂. I’m looking forward to having it poking out of the top of the stocking 😂😂😂

Apart from the usual toiletry things I got him some volumising hair powder as he’s always moaning his hair flops. If you Google Slick Gorilla there are lots of different brands. I also got him some AirPod cleaners (sending a theme?!) , mini vodkas (yes he’s old enough!) , a metal retractable drinking straw and loads of skincare stuff.

MaybeMrs · 01/12/2023 11:14

FOSSIL

I got 2 items, so 50% off outlet price. I signed up as a new customer and got a 15% code. This stacked with the EXTRA10 and TC15. Plus 24% cash back from TCB.

2 watched, engraved, for £49! Should have been £250 original price. Plus I’ll get the cash back.

SunflowerBaby · 01/12/2023 11:19

The personalised Love Hearts are cute! Just ordered some for DD, thanks to the person who posted them.

mumonthehill · 01/12/2023 11:21

Thanks for Fossil just got bargain sunglasses to go with the bargain Havianas i got!

LudicrousSexFudge · 01/12/2023 11:23

RepetitiveMotion I have already plundered that thread. Crimpit, Croc lights, air pod cleaning tool, trainer wipes - got 'em all, and Hot Diamonds jewellry from here. Everything is just teeny tiny. I need something large and bargainous that he didn't know he needed.

Laithwaites have redeemed themselves. Thanks to everyone that used my code. Very impressed with delivery speed (a day) packaging and quality.

Do call them if you have a code going to waste its worth it

@redjoker what is the laithwaites deal please?

Referral code over on the other thread gives you '£40 off when they place their first order with Laithwaites'

I used it to buy the biscuit tin hamper and hotel chocolate hampers. I also signed up for free delivery for a year

total cost £140 down to £27. Share your own referral code on the other thread and if someone uses it they will send you a £40 off voucher. I shared mine here and at work so have ended up with 4 x £40 off vouchers

Loads of advent calendars reduced at Selfridges, including Lego and Barbie

Honestmummydearest · 01/12/2023 11:39

@VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji thank you- this advent calendar is beautiful and they have some lovely reusable stockings on sale which I am chalking up as an investment as I’ll be reusing over several future years (…!)

Code WELCOME5 also gives £5 off at the checkout

its beautiful isn’t it. I ummed over it and I have no one young enough for it! Good spot on the welcome code as well
and yes those stockings are lovely as well aren’t they. If you’ve not bought them already and you afford it. I can recommend getting two.
you will thank me on Christmas night when trying to wrangle noisy items, that way you just swap the packed stocking with the empty one.

Honestmummydearest · 01/12/2023 11:51

@VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji this is a GENIUS idea! It’s pro tips like this that I am on MN for! Thank you!

Mine are teens now (so don’t sleep like toddlers!) and I didn’t do it and every year I kick myself!
it also makes sure you have enough / not too much.

ooooh @LudicrousSexFudge which AirPod cleaning kit did you go for? That sounds a brilliant idea

Yeknom · 01/12/2023 12:12

AirPod cleaning set is genius! Thank you! Perfect little gift for my husband!

WimbyAce · 01/12/2023 12:17

Whoever suggested Sainsbury's for the small Christmas plush thank you so much! They had a few left and even more lucky it was the ones I was looking for (elves). They are just what I was after and will be perfect to sit on top of the stockings, amazing 🤩🤩🤩

bizzey · 01/12/2023 12:18

Ohhhh...another one wanting to know about airpod cleaning sets !!

LudicrousSexFudge · 01/12/2023 12:20

AirPods Cleaning Kit - 3-in-1 Earphone Cleaner Kit https://amzn.eu/d/6Uo1gaX

This is the one I got off the back of the Teenage boy thread.

TheCrow · 01/12/2023 12:27

@LudicrousSexFudge how about cut a cardboard box in half, wrap it and make a hamper with unusual snacks? Big bags of crisps like takis or cheetos to bulk it out, or Asian supermarkets usually have loads of unusual crisps. Then fill the rest with sweets, b&m and farmfoods are both good for snacks from other countries

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 01/12/2023 12:33

I'm disappointed in the Savile Row slippers... The box is brilliant, very naice... But the slippers... Well, there's some unknown substance on them, I'm telling myself it's glue somehow but it does look like crispy snot... There's threads hanging out everywhere and the material looks bobbly and worn... Just very cheaply made. In two kind about sending them back or not, is everyone else happy with theirs? There's no way they were worth the original price imo (sorry to the poster who mentioned it, I'm disappointed in the product, nothing else xx )

Thank you for the hexbug nano recommendation from the entertainer. I’ve picked 2 up for our local food bank toy collections, looks a substantial gift for a bargain price

@CanIPutTheTreeUpYet
I've got to collect 2 pairs from my post office today 🫣 will update with what they look like...

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 01/12/2023 12:54

@evtheria 🤞 hopefully yours are in a better state than mine... Luckily, it's free returns and they even give you a sticker with the returns address on.... Grasping at a silver lining and all that...

Crimsonbow · 01/12/2023 13:14

Apologies if these have been posted, I've got lost in the previous thread and it feels a bit overwhelming to try to catch up!

BAM (bamboo clothing, lovely socks especially) 20% off with code GG23

I've bought stickers to put on presents. Only ordered Wednesday and they've arrived today from Etsy

Also, Alton Towers have a black Friday sale on still where kids go free to the water park if you stay in their hotel. Over half term in Feb (can't remember exact dates but it's 2 weeks I assume to cover different half terms), cbeebies land is open and that's "included" too. (prices slightly higher so whilst it's included it's also slightly more money).

I've got a weekend overnight stay, breakfast, cbeebies land and water park tickets for 4 of us for £200. We haven't bought our DC anything big for Christmas and I said we'd use the money on some family time so I'm going to find something to wrap to give them to tell them about our weekend away 😁
