Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday

Reastie · 25/11/2023 06:56

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us!

I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we couldn't just bought a smart tv by now with the amount we've got through as they break after a year or so) and noise cancelling headphones for DD. Hope you're all getting through the lists - December is fast upon us!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Are there any discounts for Uniqlo? I'm under the free p+p threshold and I'd need to spend £60 to get the new account offer

uncomfortablydumb53 · 27/11/2023 16:41

@Mytribeof3
Asda sell Scoville pans which can be used on an induction hob
I bought my DS a set for £35

Raindancer411 · 27/11/2023 16:43

I have been emailing companies, so Tesco and Asda, to bring back the dairy free coins. I had to resort to the Morrisons ones but it's not the same :(

Those Scoville pans are great. I bought some earlier this year and really rate them (always cheap on offer too!)

Gah ... I'm desperately trying to stick to a No Beauty Spend till at least the end of the year but this looks such good value ...

The GlossyBox 5 for £25 also seems excellent value but my gut is wondering if it's too good to be true, like 5 of the same rubbish one Confused

I caved late last night and ordered it - even though the only review said they received 2 of one box and 3 of another. I'll update once it arrives.

Can anyone recommend some fleece lined leggings? There are looaaaddds of cheap ones on Amazon but I don't want to buy my sister a rubbish pair. £15 budget?

another one saying Primark
DD swears by the cosy leggings - which are £7 and look like regular ones
but you also get fleece lined ones - although not sure how much they are

You could order the separate boxes instead (box 1,2,3 etc) which are more likely to be different. £1 per box more, but still a bargain.

I was only going to order 2 so the £5 postage put me off.

I've got this - admittedly for my late teens niece - and it looks really good value
(sorry, just saying 😆)

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 27/11/2023 16:59

Pass** fingers crossed they will be excellent

buttondown · 27/11/2023 17:06

@redjoker might be worth posting on a local fb page or Freecycle as most people take a few branches off the bottom which might be enough for wreath making?

@Tina221

Thanks so much @PostPopper I really appreciate it x

Fabricwitch · 27/11/2023 17:08

I ordered the glossy boxes after sleeping on it but I really didn't need them. Last time I got mystery boxes from them I ordered separately (box 1, box 2, box 3 etc) and still got 2 the same which was annoying, so just went for the bundle of 5 this time. I'll be giving some as gifts anyways

That is a good idea but need a whole trees worth as doing the mantlepiece. But didn't actually think of that thanks!

Does anyone have an Argos code they won't use? Ds wants (too) expensive Star Wars Lego set.

Sorey no argos code but have you tried very? They have 15% cashback with top cashback on toys today.

MerylSqueak · 27/11/2023 17:23

My local Home Bargains had Christmas trees. I didn't look but last year they were 9.99. @redjoker

2mileB27 · 27/11/2023 17:27

I bought two for my girls! The products are fabulous! Do it lol!!

Raindancer411 · 27/11/2023 17:27

@WidowedMum Those were what we got last year but they haven't had any this year :(

What kind of things do you usually get in them? I'm thinking of getting them for my nieces 17 & 20? Would they appreciate the products that are in them? Are they popular well known things?
