Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us!

I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we couldn't just bought a smart tv by now with the amount we've got through as they break after a year or so) and noise cancelling headphones for DD. Hope you're all getting through the lists - December is fast upon us!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

I am trying to find a good quality but not too expensive easel as a present for my 3 year old from my mum. Any suggestions please?

MrsChristiesChristmasCake · 27/11/2023 17:35

@onemoretine and any other Scottish customers of Fahlo!

They replied to my email and said if I ordered and emailed them the order number, they would refund the difference in postage, so I've done that and we'll see if they come good! 🤞

Joe and stephs popcorn tin £10 cyber Monday deal (apparently 65% off), would make a great gift, sadly I don’t have anyone to gift it too but tempted to buy it for myself.

I looked at this. It's 10 x £1.99 packs and a tin for £10 (£4 postage), so you're getting £19.90 of popcorn for £10 plus a tin.

Is anyone still doing deals on the round "tins" of celebrations, roses etc? Ideally, I want one celebrations & one heroes but I can compromise. I've never actually bought them before!

UrbanMage · 27/11/2023 17:50

Thank you for whoever mentioned Noughty - Got my sister some lovely bits for supper cheap!

onemoretine · 27/11/2023 17:53

@MrsChristiesChristmasCake thanks for that. They have sent me about 6 emails today offering me a free bracelet 😂

wideawakeinthemiddleofthenightagain · 27/11/2023 17:57

On the subject of chocolate, those giant Dairy Milk bars are now a standard feature on DS2's list. Sadly, I haven't found any offers as good as last year's and certainly not two years' ago

They're 2 for £8 at Asda.

@MammaGnomes yes I think they would like them. There's usually a good mix of makeup, skincare, haircare and body care. There's also a good mix of brands (some of them quite expensive). Here's photos of what I got in my last mystery boxes. I also got extra samples in some like single use foundation/perfumes. You will always get 5 proper items and sometimes the extra samples. If you get them as a gift just check the booklet inside it might say from May 2022 for example so you might want to take it out?

I’ve made a bit of a mistake 🤦🏼‍♀️ I asked the other day for ideas for adult board games and bought some of them, one of them was 5 second rule but it’s arrived today and I’ve just realised I bought the junior version by mistake 🙄. Does anyone know about this game and whether I can get away with the junior (6+) version for a group of adults 20+? I’m guessing probably not!

Fabricwitch · 27/11/2023 18:02

@MammaGnomes the boxes are also nice and reusable, and the items come nicely packaged in tissue and ribbon inside!

stepfordwifey · 27/11/2023 18:03

Ask at your local garden centre for tree off cuts . They're usually happy to give you a big bundle.

stepfordwifey · 27/11/2023 18:04

Sorry, meant for @redjoker

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 27/11/2023 18:15

@WidowedMum they would be great but Tesco , Asda and Sainsburys haven't had any availability in all the stores I have visited since Christmas stock started coming out. They seem to be nowhere to be found at all and the Morrisons ones I resorted too were mega expensive and not foil wrapped

I have heard good things about the primark ones which are about £7

I’ve got some from Primark which are ok for the price but prefer M&S heatgen ones for £16

WimbyAce · 27/11/2023 18:19

Can anyone recommend a Yule Log that is worth it? I buy 1 excitedly every year but yet to find one that I love. Apparently Amazon actually came out best but I can't see it on there unless it's too early yet?

TulipVictory · 27/11/2023 18:22

Just got some nice men's slippers from Saville row, originally £44.. £16.50 including delivery with Black Friday code

@TulipVictory Thank you so much! DS9 always buys his dad some warm slippers out of his own money, and we've ordered a pair.

thaegumathteth · 27/11/2023 18:36

Anyone know of a generic Etsy code? Tried ones I've found in google but no luck.

Someaddedsugar · 27/11/2023 18:36

@thaegumathteth I've seen £5 off a £30+ spend on the app?
